once again great work proud to be samoan casue of this film
@MultiJavea The music is by the Leone High School Swing Choir directed by Pati Pati. We also love this film and continue to be impressed by this story and production by the participants in our workshop!
Malo soifua . This video is amazing ! For me it does not tell the full story but it is just an introduction to the life of a young girl who needs to adapt to a new life style . This video outlines bits and pieces of the life of a taupou but for me there is so much more to it ! My father is the Ali'i of our village and because he has no daughters and i am his oldest son , i had to take on the role of the Manaia , it takes so much sacrifices which you really need to outline . Soifua Lava .
amazing. The video hits home for my family. Being that my sister became a taupou at a young age being raised in California & then brought to Tutuila -it was a major culture shock. The temptations & urges as a teenage girl depicted in the film are similar to the ones she went through. Having to understand that being a Taupou meant so much more than just dancing & wearing the la'ei samoa was a hard thing to swallow for her. Thank you for sharing -I LOVED it :)
@DEMTOiLOLOsS Wow, thank you so much for sharing your family's story and for your positive feedback. It's our hope with our Short Film Showcase that we can give voices to Pacific Islanders and the many stories we have to tell - it's so good to know that you're watching! Take care!
