Y'know I bought Recabinet quite some time ago but never got around to using it seriously until my copy of Superior Drummer 2.0 came in the other day. I was using the 121 and 57 both on the cap on the grill from what little my memory recalled from this video and the tone was alright. I just revisited this video, followed the steps, and now my tone is massive and cuts brilliantly. Thank you so much for this video and Recabinet!
@MrBIOSkunk We're working on a dedicated plugin for Recabinet v3, which will be able to do blending internally and will make the workflow much faster. Once it's done, I'm sure I'll do more videos.
@scrotzki789 Thanks! Yeah I suppose the clip was Scar Symmetry inspired, although it's not exactly the same riff (for example, the actual song has fewer notes on the guitar, and the keyboard part is doing the chord progressions.)
Thanks for the tutorial! I read about your software on some forum while I was researching some pedals and for $15 I decided to just give it a shot. I only played around with it last night in Logic 9 for a few minutes but wow am I impressed! Can't wait to record some full tracks with it!
Thanks for sharing Kazrog! This sounds awesome. I look forward to trying it out myself. I've been looking for a nice, easy way to record my sansamp PSA1 and think I have found the solution with Recabinet. Keep up the great work!
a good start to show its powers . But i guess this program is most used by homercording amateurs (like me) -and semiprofessional who DON´t have different racks or mics to do it in real life. So some hints would be helpfull how you which settings to use to get a similar sound like the big ones. the manual isn´t too helpfull in this case.
@gp170276 Understood, and I am in total agreement with you. We'll be releasing Recabinet v3 later this Summer, which will have a dedicated plugin that will allow you to blend cabs and mics internally, and will come with a ton of great presets to get you started.
Excellent video. Probably the best one I have seen on the subject. I have had Recabinet since version 1. Excellent stuff. Amazing how real the impulses sound!
Hey Shane; good video. It would be quite useful to hear recabinet in a full mix, with all of the quad-tracking glory that you refer to at the end of the video. Gives people an idea of what they can achieve if they put in the effort!
Very nice mate...I bought Recabinet on the special, and know what they're about, and know heaps about guitars and amps, but know very little about mics, so these will DEFINITELY be a winner for me. Good job and keep up the good work! (Kaaswros on KVR ;) )
Hi, a have a problem, when a run recabinet in cubase 5 a listen a dirty noise, some like hhuumm, and ai not have idea of how fixed, thanx.

Hi, video is great ! But how do/did you manage phasing problems ?
I mean 2 mics in different distance- it occured not just in real life, but also with Recab too ... or at least in my project... Thanks for answering !
gregparadi 1 year ago
@gregparadi Either download the free Recabinet 2.1 update, or upgrade to our new plugin Recabinet 3. Both are fully phase coherent.
