and it was the scene where beatrix kiddo found out she was pregnant ...moments later " annie oakley" was mentioned

so i wondered whos that?

after looking her up on wikipedia

i learned that "Using a .22 caliber rifle at 90 feet Oakley could repeatedly split a playing card edge-on and put five or six more holes in it before it touched the ground"

I wouldn't even think of having a kid, or anyone shoot or hold a quarter between his fingers and have me or anyone else shoot at it. You should know that pointing a gun at anyone is against all rules pertaining to shooting today. The quarter I shot was mounted on a target board, and a hole was shot through it. When Annie shot the heart of a playing card, Frank was holding the card, and Frank was holding the card when she shot the card with the edge facing her. That was then not today.

If you view the film and stop it when Annie is shooting the glass balls you should be able to see little white spots. These are the pieces of glass flying from being hit by Annie.

@matrox Do you shoot? Well, I do. I shoot a .45 pistol, Clays with a shotgun, .22 at 50yds. High power rifle at 100yds and 500 meters(547yds). So I know how hard it is to do what she did. I have put a hole through a quarter at 100yds in a supported position with a high power rifle. It's nothing to brag about. Now do that shooting offhand, and you have something to brag about.

@tmax45R What If I told you I was a Markmen that could pop a quarter from 300 yards away with a telescopic scope with all wind resistance and trajectory computer calculated before I even pull the trigger? Now if you are a shooter you will know by common sense if nothing else that the coin will be knocked of course by the force of the bullet. Hold a quarter between your fingers, give your gun to a 5 year old kid and tell him to shoot the quarter and lets see if the bullet will go knocks it out.

The targets are close because this was a very early movie when film was experimental -- they could not move the camera and could not zoom, and if they were much farther then you would not be able to see them very well. But yeah, it's kind of disappointing that the only movie we have of her doesn't show her doing her more impressive feats.
