Wingdoss, get your great uncle to speak before he passes,it will be a great burdon off his soul and it will do a fine thing for his mates souls that didnt make it
May I thank the men who saved us(or my grandparents)! I'm goddamn proud of every one of them! May the ones that didnt make it rest in peace. I live in Son en Breugel (NL). They landed in my village. Every year I go to the memorial day. Thanks!
A lot of people are very thankfull to the British Veterans. Especially the people from the Arnhem region. Our respect to them is very, very big. I wanna say: Thank you veterans! Lest we forget!
My Great Uncle was in 3 Para all through the war but he won't talk about Market Garden. To talk about it would be to relive it and it's too upsetting for him. Many thanks for posting this.
Totally outgunned, totally outmanned yet hold out for such an extended period of time. So much so that a German officer said he had never seen such skillful street fighting.
True Bravery took on new meaning after this operation Steacey. Been to Oosterbeek to see the area myself once, the war dead are given plenty of respect there, well deserved indeed. s
These men are the reason I am Joining the British Paratroopers.

`Abide With Me` is the first tune, had to dredge my memory for title.I believe this is
a hymn.So sad that event`s and our common heritage are being lost.
As a British ex-pat living in U.S.A. my respects to all who serve.
