  • seems to be a british island in the north sea...

  • We stayed at the Cobo Bay Hotel for four wonderful hot summer days and nights at the beginning of July. That week the high tide just touched the sea wall. Sitting eating dinner in the outdoor restaurant might have been a very different experience!

  • Now I know where to open my Rustcheck buisness and become a rich man! :)

  • spectacular scene. I can watch this kind of thing for a long time

  • Another good reason to live on the top of a hill....

  • Guess there's no need to water the lawn.

  • That ocean's like: "Hey houses, Fuck You!"

  • I am rethinking about having oceanfront property.

  • At the Smith's home, 7:00 am: "I'll be back in about an hour with breakfast!" "okay, be careful" "I will" Walking to the cafe, 7:15 am Thinking: "Hmm, the wave are a little restless today" At the cafe, 7:30 am "two large vanilla lattes and two medium pancakes, please" Walking home: (little kid in stroller) "hey, mommy, look at that big wave thats about to hit that guy there!!!" Mom: "ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!" Guy: "huh? OH SH*T!!!!" Never to be heard from again
  • look closely, you can see me having a pint outside the rocky, bit cold

  • Seriously find an other road to drive because you will fucking die there xD The little car was very close to the edge when the SUV passed him :o

  • I once got caught under one of those waves! Thought it was fun until I realised how many rocks the waves bring up with them. Lucky escape for me that day!

  • I once got caught under one of those waves! Thought it was fun until I realise how many rocks the waves bring up with them. Lucky escape for me that day!

  • "honey when did we get a swimming pool in the back yard" WOOAHH SHIT!

  • this is UK i think

  • It looks like a nice village/City

  • Look dearie. there's a fish on the sill.

  • bray in ireland used to be like that until they extended the beach with bolders and gravel.

  • Comment removed

  • good day for a drive....and rusting later

  • retarded person:i going to buy a pool oh wait i have the waves!!

  • gods punishing them for driving on the wrong side of the ro adz

  • whats that in the middle of the road, is that a skip or a police box?

  • Tqs for this video. it's a wonderful experienced to watch this kind of happening. Hopefully these is no casulties. Thanks to the truck for easing the traffic... Personally I always dreamed to have and live in a house at the coastal line, coz I love the sea very much. Just don't blamed mother nature... it can happen anywhere. Great video.. appreciated your work. Tq.

  • Guernsey is a island i just live down the road from cobo

  • if they had 2 walls several yards apart it wouldn't be so bad

  • @geodacius you must have engineering experience because that would be a very viable solution. It would work.

  • South Florida could learn much from a look at the seawall

  • beautiful city

    and dangerous sea...

  • well, that truck sure showed that box who's boss.

and - well, the downside of beachfront.

  • That van got PWNED>

  • Well........, so much for waterfront properties worth more than inner land ones....

  • i find this pretty funny, since its not really doing any damage. it'd be a thrill to put on a swim suit and walk down the road XD

  • just for the reference, 1 cubic meter of water weighs a ton. I've seen our bosun thrown 10 meters down the deck just from the bow splashes... Im quite sure you'd be quite damaged after encountering such waves, simply cause it's likely you'll be thrown into the buildings.

  • yeah i hear ya, but its not like the waves are breaking right into the road. its just splashes. trust me i've been splashed by stuff like this plenty of times on the Oregon Coast haha =P

  • As long as you say you were :P Im not about to create a scientific experiment using me, waves and a bit of road just so I can verify :D

  • but where's the fun in that?

    haha =P

  • I've spent a portion of my life wearing a cast, why should I get all the fun? :D

  • hahaha

  • @LFSvidMan but its not a cubic metre of water fallin on them its just spray the road isnt that bad just very wet

  • 2:37 the guy in the white Truck ^_^

  • The road should have been closed during such heavy sea conditions and after the passage of such storm, which has created such waves...the road is unpractical during these times of bad weather conditions!!

  • wow it semmd like a nice sunny day but those waves are huge XD

the water sounds like its calm to XD

  • **Ahh such a wonderfull day here on cobo road.**

"Honey! Im going to take a shower."

    "O.K"

    **Opens the door**

    "Done!"

  • free car wash :-)

  • ummm if there is a hurricane those houses could be on the ocean floor probably

  • i seen waves much more violent than that along suffolk coastline were is the storm ?

  • 10x10 x15 miles: that is Guernsey but every square inch is as beautiful as what you can see here !

  • Guernsey is a universe-island as our milky-way Galaxy is...

  • Nice of that trucker to push that bin out of the way lol

  • why would you build a house so close to that?! ...

i would understand if maybe there was a bit more separation .. but those houses are wayy too close.

  • where is this?

  • See answer below. It's to Cobo, eh?

  • i ment where is cobo?

  • Oops, sorry!

In Guernsey, Channel Islands. (also info below!)

  • oh right i can never b arsed to read it!

  • That's to bloney Cobo that one eh? not a good day to be drinking a pint outside the Rockmount...

  • just a bit of spray?? one cubic foot of water weighs 64 lbs.!!

  • Fascinating. Sea wall is doing its job. Just a bit of spray getting over.

  • Nice footage.

  • indeed. just because this is no STRONG storm, so the waves could be soo much worst.

they should build some serious wave breaker, 100m off the coast.

  • lol, 27 miles long!

  • Think it might be time to add another metre to that wall.

  • guernsey at its most vulnerable. as well as having incredibly nice weather in the summer its incredibly prone to bad weather in the winter. this is what i miss most about the place.

  • it reminds me of many happy days in scarborough, north yorkshire.watching the sea when it was like this.

    powerful, beautiful,hypnotic.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Incredible video. I wish you post more videos like this one!

  • when every toilet on earth is flushed at the same time...

  • I love Seattle!

  • that is simply amazing...mg god the power and forve of the water..i would be nervous living right at the sea front...excellent video

  • Alright who wants to go to the store? MOM!? DAD!? SISTER!? Alright, but do I have to go? It's raining outside.

  • been there :)

  • is this ireland?

  • This is such a great memory of Guernsey on a stormy day!

  • Hey those people don't have to water their front lawns I guess...

  • "FREE CAR WASH!!..FREE CAR WASH!"

Did you check out Anya's wedding vid? It's in my favs...

    Sending lots of love,

    A. Yasmin

  • I want to live there!

  • love the way that dude in the van pushed the bin away i was waiting for a car to do that instead of driving round it... why didnt they get out of their cars and do it.... not as if they're going to get wet or anything

  • What a great piece of footage. I grew up in Guernsey and miss the wild days along the cliffs and west coast. The seaweed being thrown onto the coast road made it worse than driving on ice! Hard to imagine building walls that can beat the sea, and let us have a view still from the houses! I used to love sitting in the Rockmount pub (1 min 54 secs) and watching the sea come over the wall. Bit of a so and so for Rockmount owner David Nussbaumer and all along that piece of road though. Rory Kay

  • i believe that some of the windows at the rockmount got broke during this storm, part of the sea wall had to be repaired. but out along rocqaine/l`ree before the cup and saucer a massive 25 metres of sea wall collapsed they are still in the process of fixin it. stores downtown were under 5-6 inches of water that day as well, the biggest storm gsy had seen in 100 yrs

  • We see don't anything like that in Minnesota.

  • Where is this?

  • Cobo Bay, Guernsey, Channel Islands

  • Gr8 pix Paul. What you realy need to do is to get down on that slipway in a hire car an take some pix through the windscreen!!

  • That's a cool video

  • I like the van that stops to push the bin out of the way!

  • I live there, that storm was well bad!
