Hey man question for you. Lets say in retrospect i had this amp set to a Thrash metal style tone on channel two how much could i clean it up with the guitar volume? Thanks man!
Do you think you can get a lot of variation with the shape knob or isn't it handy at all? I'm thinking of getting a Thunder 30 but I think it's lame that it doesn't have a normal EQ. Thanks in advance
@AlexDeMars123 Yea its due out nexy month i think.. Im saving to get o thunder30 because i cant afford a rockerverb or thunderverb ATM. That said the thunder looks like it will be cool its a rockerverb merged with a thunder..7watt setting on up to 30 also effects loop GAS ATTACK LOL
@eatthemoon13 Ive since got a used rockerverb 100 how do you think the bass response differs from thunderverb 50 and say a rockerverb? Im thinking of trading for the thunder50 because its loud for the house but i still need great bass response for doom metal that why i chose 100 watt rockerverb over the 50 watt rockerverb. I hear the thunder 50 has just as good bass and is as tight as my 100 watt rockerverb> what do you think?
In retrospect I should have kept the Rockerverb. The Thunderverb is being used as a bass amp right now and it works good.. They are both great. The RV is more useful to me with it's dedicated clean channel.
@brandon5pennies the rockerverb has more chunk, the thunderverb 50 sounds smoother at higher volumes bc of the EL34s. the one thing that makes the TV50 a "metal amp" is the transformer which can handle bass guitars, and therefore, low tunings too. (it's hard to explain but on the TV the B string sounds like a real guitar and not some crappy pedal dying on me)
I'm actually hesitating between the thunderverb, the rockerverb and the OR50....its a shame the OR does not have reverb ....but yet it seems cool....by the way..I like to play classic rock/hard rock , also metal but more leaning to old school stuff(lynyrd, acdc, thin lizzy, zz top, metallica, pantera.....).what would you advise me to take?(given that Ive already have a xotic BB preamp)
really? Can you find me a video with evidence of that? I'm not being a dick, haha, it's always hard to tell on youtube. But on the website, they made it seem like the AD didn't have that much gain at all
AD30's are weak. I bought one cause it was a good price and it was a good sounding amp, just not a lot of balls. Plenty of gain, but not a lot of attack due to the class A circuitry. Great sounding blues amp though.
different tubes, different Eq structure. I find the Rockerverb is better for cleans and the Thunderverb has a broader pallet of distortions available. The Thunderverb can sound like the Rockerverb though.
@1DAngus1 i'm gonna answer the same q 3 times in the same utube clip XD
for classic stuff the TV owns, for low tunings too. but u need to boost the preamp or use a quality OD. the RV has much more power amp headroom and preamp gain and is, in general, better at modern tones,

no disrespect to the poster of this video, but these amps sound way nicer in person (probably due to crappy youtube quality)

i have an RV and lately i've been gassing hard for a TV. can the cleans get loud enough with the TV?
chromezeppelin 2 years ago
@chromezeppelin The clean headroom is definitely not this amp's strong point.. Stick with the RV for LOUD cleans..
phillyred79 2 years ago
@chromezeppelin yeah stick with the Rockerverb plus you can tube swap if you dont like el34's you can even put kt88's in them

Ok thanks, I play some modern metal and classic rock/ metal, Led zeplin stuff? What amp would bebetter?
1DAngus1 4 years ago
id say the rockerverb...its cheaper and you can easily get a page esque tone out of it
