It's a bit dishonest of the uploader to not mention it, but it's definitely preferable over the crappy audio a camera/mobile phone would give.

At 13, I bought a Dire Straits album, and knew this was the way I wanted to play! 34 years later, I have most of Knopflers' recordings, and have seen him several times. He has NEVER over-dubbed. I CLEARLY SEE him let the guitar resonate in a power-chord while he wipes his mouth at 0:57, I see him vary his right-hand technique through the solo, see his superb left-hand vibrato, all in sync. Nothing funny going on here, just EPIC playing.
Its clearly different audio played over the clip. If it wasn't for the fact that Mark Knopfler is playing this there would be thousands of FAKE comments or "the audio is out of synch" ones. Its clear it is a different audio track.

So amazing. He's one of the few guitarists who actually play a real 59 Les Paul live because they're worth so much money, but the sound is faultless. Obviously the best fingers as well.

I have the tab book for the whole album, and even in the tab book there is no tab for the ending solo. Just the first 25 seconds or so. The whole song is just in C maj so just solo around in the key.

He also protected the interests of all of those whose hard work and talent went into creating the product, without whom there would be no video for you to watch and enjoy, by rendering it useless to pirates.
Stealing and Sharing are NOT synonymous. If you think otherwise, leave your car keys in, in case anyone wants to SHARE your ride!

He filmed this and doesn't have to upload it. He could just enjoy it on his computer, but no. He uploaded it for Youtube to share with a watermark. It's not too intrusive anyways, it's transparent. Just deal with what you get.

Danny Cummings (the drummer) had only played 10-15 shows before this show. He stepped in for Chad Cromwell, who had to go home to USA. (For a reason that has been kept secret for a long time)
i love the way he changes the end solo alittle bit on early live performance, I been to loads of MK tours and its always something new to enjoy! MK is great!
writing left handed and play guitar with the right is no big deal. i'm left handed writing, but i'm right handed playing guitar. it's "normal", there's no advantages lol. i love MK. to me, he's THE best. i began learning guitar with no lessons, on my one, because of him. but now i have a problem, i'm so used to play and do solos by fingerpicking, and i don't like picks to play, but there's things you can't do with your hands, and you need a pick, but it's so much better feeling with your finger.
lol. you can play more without a flatpick. use a thumb pick or no pick. mark is one thing, but he says in the shangrila album that half the stuff chet atkins know to play,i could never play. chet used a thumb or none. you can use a thumb pick fast on strings just as a flat pick. flat pick is like paiting ur house with a toothbrush compare. with a flat pick you dont have the mobility with your thumb and pinky finger anymore. its busy with that flat pick.lol. just study mark and spes chet
You should check out Gurrumul Yunupingu. He's blind, plays a right hand strung guitar, left handed. That means the bass strings are at the bottom of the fret board.
Shit! He does the anchor thing like Tommy Emmanuel and Bruce Cockburn, but he uses the ring AND pinkie fingers, and just picks with the thumb, index and middle. Well, you gotta anchor somewhere. I gotta see him live!
Well, he's not the flashiest lead player, but his tone is AWESOME, and his songwriting is BEYOND CLASSIC, and--just noticed this last night--he's left handed! (Or ambidextrous. Check out the video of WHAT IT IS NOW: he's writing with his left). Cockburn's a lefty, too. and they both play right-handed. Advantage? Survey says yes.
its not because youre writing with the right hand that you'll play with a left handed guitar, when you beginn playing guitar you'll begin at 0 and you don't have any advantage with the right or left hand
ive a friend who is writing with left and he learned play guitar with right hand he said that at the beginning there was no difference between the two hands
Knopfler once said that he can handle the bends better because he's left handed, or something like that. Nothing do to with anything, but just for fun. =)

A long time ago, my father was a real fan of Mark. He was always listening to Dire Straits. So much that I didn't like it.
Since I heard Calling Elvis live, and Speedway At Nazareth, I started playing guitar. Now Mark is my guitar hero and it will never change.

writing left handed and play guitar with the right is no big deal. i'm left handed writing, but i'm right handed playing guitar. it's "normal", there's no advantages lol. i love MK. to me, he's THE best. i began learning guitar with no lessons, on my one, because of him. but now i have a problem, i'm so used to play and do solos by fingerpicking, and i don't like picks to play, but there's things you can't do with your hands, and you need a pick, but it's so much better feeling with your finger.

lol. you can play more without a flatpick. use a thumb pick or no pick. mark is one thing, but he says in the shangrila album that half the stuff chet atkins know to play,i could never play. chet used a thumb or none. you can use a thumb pick fast on strings just as a flat pick. flat pick is like paiting ur house with a toothbrush compare. with a flat pick you dont have the mobility with your thumb and pinky finger anymore. its busy with that flat pick.lol. just study mark and spes chet

You should check out Gurrumul Yunupingu. He's blind, plays a right hand strung guitar, left handed. That means the bass strings are at the bottom of the fret board.
Forget that though, his voice is subliminal.

Shit! He does the anchor thing like Tommy Emmanuel and Bruce Cockburn, but he uses the ring AND pinkie fingers, and just picks with the thumb, index and middle. Well, you gotta anchor somewhere. I gotta see him live!

Well, he's not the flashiest lead player, but his tone is AWESOME, and his songwriting is BEYOND CLASSIC, and--just noticed this last night--he's left handed! (Or ambidextrous. Check out the video of WHAT IT IS NOW: he's writing with his left). Cockburn's a lefty, too. and they both play right-handed. Advantage? Survey says yes.

its not because youre writing with the right hand that you'll play with a left handed guitar, when you beginn playing guitar you'll begin at 0 and you don't have any advantage with the right or left hand
