  • @valky666 Thank you! Glad you liked it.

  • @taofledermaus

and u got one hell of a camera! (U don't speak by any chance German? your nick puzzles me ^^ - soundtrack is still awesome..darn it!_)

  • Thunderbolt. Warthog. "Tank Killer" I'm glad I got shit like this on my side....

  • Love this bird, but it just doesnt look the same with out all the bombs on it.

  • The A-10 Warthog, such an incredible specimen. It now displays it's ugly grey breaking flaps in the hope of a potential mate. It approaches the home it defends. This particular bird has just returned from air warfare like no other, absolutely remarkable!

  • must feel like drivin with the damn parking brake on hahah

  • @TrailsOfFire1 Seems like too much drag for it to stay in the air. Thanks for stopping in!

  • 1:06 is sweet

  • ugly and beautiful if you know what I mean..

  • You know..For a plane that was thought to be past its time and a waste when it entered service (& didnt want to be used by most of the Top Brass ) the A-10 Proved it had what was needed..

    Too bad it stopped Production..

Also Proves how all planes do not require Extreme High Tech to get the job done..

Few planes perform their designed & intended missions as well as the A-10 performs its Job.

BTW .. Very nice and cool video ..

  • This video reminds me of Skyrim for some reason. Almost like the Warthog is a dragon. Yea...I play too much Skyrim. Lol.

  • Fuck that, where's the sound...

  • @FPVsean High speed cameras don't record sound, that is why I put a real-time clip at the end from another camera that does have sound.

  • that's a dirty birdie.. but dependable as hell

  • @roberthansenfbi its a flying target.

  • I like a plane thats all business.

  • Dear Santa, I'd like to have that... camera.

  • Question. I know what a fledermaus is, but why the Tao? What does that stand for? And, BTW, good video.

  • @ncplantdoctor TAO was the online FPS clan I was in in 2006 when I created this account. (my only YT account) I typically have always used the same moniker on everything internet-related.

  • @taofledermaus Its not a low pass or a fly by this is a landing hence the wheels out and the flaps open

  • @MrKmanj If you look closely, the plane flies by and then after it passes, the gear, flaps, and airbrakes all retract again. If he was just landing, it would be a belly-landing.

  • Thanks the Nazis for giving us the inspiration for the Hog

  • What's sweet about this plane is that they started with the main gun... and built the plane around it.

  • I told my wife I wanted one for my birthday. She eyerolled and said "okay". XD

  • War is cool.

  • Only way to get dirtier is pop open the canopy. :-) Nice vid.

What makes this ugly aircraft beautiful is it is 100% form follows function. Beautiful! Right up there with the A1 Skyraider.

  • very pretty long and slow shot. Worth it to get a feel for the bird in the air. :D

  • AC-130 inbound C:

  • that uranium piece of a gun buster, such a piece of arperture te look at, and that whistle blowing sound, always reminds me of the skyraider

  • i always remembered these planes as the "slow as fuck" airplanes in Ace Combat 4 for PS2. haha

  • "We made it beautiful, because it is the last thing some people will ever see"

  • The A10 Warthog. Go Ugly Early.

  • that is ey lame video...

  • @GameDization I've been on YT since 2006 and never once have I felt the need to tell the uploader his video was "lame" if I didn't happen to like it. I just moved onto the next video without wasting more of my time.

  • @taofledermaus Well, you're just so much better than everyone else.

  • @GameDization Bitch you just got told

  • Flyin' Dirty!

  • whats the name of this song?

  • wow,,most of you are making good comments. Usually it's oh you don't know what you're talking about dumb ass do your research thats not an a ten its an ten a doing a reverse extended landing flyby with half it's arsenal fully extended! Go back to school! Maybe if you'd actually been in the military instead of just seeing it on call of duty you would know what you're talking about justin beiber and chuch norris and furthermore,, they're still making them in Florida. My brother is building wings

  • @ebinger224 Huh? Still making the A10 in Florida??? I don't think so.

There's a blowhard where I work named Ebinger where I work here in Kansas. You're not him, are you?

  • soooo slow with the split flaps nice slo mo vid :)

  • @codyputman Thank you!

  • this is just an a10 landing..........? happens every day hundreds of times at FOB's and training bases around the world... side note i heard they're trying to get rid of the a10 again and replace it with f35's. stupid

  • @redeiko0713 It isn't landing, it is doing a slow fly by with everything extended.

  • @taofledermaus Good video, but not everything is extended.

  • Thanks for a real superb video,

I have stood open mouthed in delight watching a squadron of these performing "touch and goes" The most beautiful ugly aircraft ever.

  • @rmcinuk I appreciate the nice words!

  • Any1 else think these should be nicknamed low ridas

  • Great work taofledermaus.

  • @maurieer Thank you very much!

  • @taofledermaus

You are very welcome. I appreciate the time and effort you spent in making the video.

  • Cool. I like that you gave the tech. details of the clip. Man, there's some ignorant people commenting on here. I like your clip, keep up the creative work....

  • @YorksOwn Thank you! Yeah, there's quite a mixed audience on YT. I understand why some channels disable comments. Lots of "experts" out there who nit-pick everything but have never experienced what its like by uploading their own videos and putting their creativity on the line for everyone else to see.

  • Isn't that called a landing?

  • @MrBoogerhook It wasn't landing. It was just doing a fly-by showing everything extended out.

  • what a load of bollocks!!!!

  • Watch this video muted with the song "You shook me all night long" playing.

    Oh yea...

  • Isent it weird how sumthing that big can fly?

  • @Pabuddy192 Not really.

  • @YourGodStalin NOT HAVEING A YOUTUBE FIGHT SO BYE,

  • @Pabuddy192

    Aw, but their so fun!

  • @manictiger =__=

  • Low pass? I do lower passes in a Cessna C172 -.-

  • @autoprestazioni But you dont make as much impression as a A-10...:)

  • @autoprestazioni I'll film that...

  • Bad news

  • A-10 Thunderbolt II virtually irreplaceable.

  • @onetimeuser247 no the warthog is a tankbuster and close air support the thunder bolt is a older less armored version of the warthog

  • That sure is one heck of a funny lookin' plane strapped to that GAU-8 Avenger.

  • Nice dirty pass...any more headwind and she'd be flying at "negative airspeed"...lol! Long live the ol' Warthog, best damnned CAS ship ever flown...and long live her drivers- mortal men, but balls of steel! (sitting in a Ti bathtub helps) lol Sure makes one wish the Taliban drove in convoys, like the not-too-smart Iraqis tried to do. Heh.

  • this plane is a fine CRAZYEST TAKE DOWN PLANE THAT CAN BLOW UP TANKS IN 2 SECS this plane will be in service entill 2058

  • i dont care how high tech, high speed, high altitude planes get, this is the most beautiful plane in my eyes, its functional, has good maneuverability, armed to the teeth for its job, can take a licking and keep on kicking. my favorite plane for all time!!!!!!!

  • @dmonte012 Start posting some videos and show us how it's done then.

  • @taofledermaus Great video, I love the extended slow motion, and music was epic too... thanks for posting this!

  • @MiniDevilDF Thank you!

  • @MiniDevilDF I had to speed up parts of this otherwise it would have been much longer!

  • @taofledermaus how bout u stop writing back rude comments and instead, improve on your videos with the critics other users write in the comments. thats the whole purpose of them.

  • @galaxiesaver That is a typical "guy with no videos of his own" comment.

  • even scarier in slomo

  • once, F-18s flew over my house in 4-finger formation!

  • you made the title look like pornz lololololololololololol

  • They designed the plane around the GAU-8 cannon.

  • i saw 3 of these fly by in an airshow a few years ago. they did a combat scene with bombs. it was awesome

  • 51 Russian made T-series tanks disliked this.

  • i hate to tell you this but thats not a tank buster model

  • this is the most badass plane ever!

ugly, yet beautiful at the same time.. i rather fly this than f16 any time..

  • Dear god I love A-10's soo sexy.

  • the only known plane to have a "Gatling Cannon", not just any Gatling gun. To me, with the gun having half of the plane's length means its a flying cannon. must be an amazing feeling having to fire a huge rotating cannon right under your feet. hahaha

  • Comment removed

  • Im confused is the A-10 thunderbolt the same plane as the A-10 warthog

  • @13ILL1997 Yes. The official name is "Thunderbolt II" "Warhog" is a commonly used nickname.

  • @taofledermaus ok thanks

  • @taofledermaus i still like the original p 47 Thunderbolt the plane this take its name from

  • @13ILL1997 yeah thunderbolt is the technical name and warthog is the nickname, cause it is ugly

  • @13ILL1997

they call it the warthog as a joke because some people say its ugly and slow

  • This gun shoots radioactive waste (depleted uranium du rounds) molded into bullets. Breathe in that depleted invisible uranium dust that has a half life of several thousand years, from these melting and disintegrating rounds, when you go inspect that killed tank, or are just sleeping downwind at your base, or years later, it don't matter. Come back to the states fucked up with respiratory cancer, loiter outside the VAH in a wheel chair sick as a dog, your lawyer having to sue to get benefits.

  • @cobrachoppergirl

1/2 life of U 238 is about 4.5 BILLION years. Not thousand. It's not very radioactive and poses no threat if not ingested. It's chemically poisonous- heavy metal and all, and as an alpha emitter, it's definitely bad juju should you ingest it. The powdered metal is pyrophoric, meaning is catches on fire in the atmosphere without a spark. Bad as it is, it's far from the nastiest thing on the battlefield.

  • i just liked the music

  • one of the sexiest planes in the US Airforce.

  • @updisho

Also a really underrated plane in a dogfight. Even it is ugly and fat it is really fast and maneuverable.

  • What the beepin hell is this man you are crazy

  • They're on my side and I'm still scared of that thing.

  • Is it just me or do I not see a plane... I see a gun with wings?

  • Love the tank busters these lovely machines can use their gatlings to split a tank in half

  • That is really dirty... lol

  • sick

  • Where did you film this at? That's one of my jets at DM, that I'm a crew chief on. Also the white strip on the tail means it's the Wing jet, aka the Commander's jet.

  • @Xx1DYNASTY1xX I shot this in Madera, CA at the Gathering of the Warbirds in 2010.

  • @Xx1DYNASTY1xX its a commanders plane he must have SWAG

  • @Xx1DYNASTY1xX Shiny gun it's a demo not a wing king.

  • @Xx1DYNASTY1xX Thanks *very* much for your service, and for keepin' 'em flying! My dad kept Aardvarks flyin' (ET,1st gen TFR), back in the cold war days...

  • sexiest plane ever!

  • For those who are very interested in the A-10, early this year a company called DCS created software called "A-10 Warthog" which is a super accurate simulation of how it operates. It is now the most advanced flight simulator out there. You can see various tutorials on it by users here on YouTube. All the controls and weapon systems, except for a few top-secret items, are simulated accurately. I have it myself and it is amazing. It is a real study, and for the die-hards only, however.

  • Like if mw3 put you on dis.. but its still a beautiful plane

  • A-10 Warthog. When you absolutely, positively have to puree the living crap out an armoured column that is preventing you from getting into the shopping mall car park to get your Christmas shopping.

  • To hell with anyone that says this is an ugly plane. That thing is beautiful.

  • @Elthenar yes for sure ,,,,, i saw my first one at barnes airfield at an airshow ,,,,, after seeing all the sleek jets i went over to see the A10 ,, it took my breath away ,,, i went back to it time and time again ,

  • Just think, the USAF was going to retire this plane in '91!

  • It would be pretty cool if you could get some footage of this beast shooting off its gun in super slow motion.

  • You can see that they retract the gun on landing

  • If I had to choose any aircraft in the air force id pick this one. It is one of the most durable, smooth flying, and powerful planes. Haha just love the gatling gun too.

  • A-10 Thunderbolt AH64 APACHE Harrier, the special gun ships

  • @heettreet I'm sure it can fly on one engine. Being mounted close to the centerline it would probably fly almost as stabile on one engine as it does with two.

  • @taofledermaus from what I've heard, pilots have landed with an engine out and they don't even realize it until they are told by the mechanics its been shot to bits xD

  • @taofledermaus moreover - there were cases when A10 returned to the aribase with no engine and without half a wing

  • @taofledermaus it can fly with one engine, one vertical and horizontal tail wing, and almost all of both wings gone. this thing is practically indestructible.

  • @taofledermaus its designed with multiple redundant systems to keep itself up in the air. it can fly with severe structure damage such as one engine, half a tail, and missing half a wing. also, the landing gear fold forward, so if there were damage to the mechanisms, gravity could help along with wind to pull and lock them down. if that doesnt work, the wheels stick out far enough that it can belly land safely

  • @heettreet name of song?

  • @heettreet They can fly without an engine, 3rd of a wing gone, lack of a vertical stabilizer and still probably kill a tank.

  • @Braeden123698745 thanks for the info ,, it does not surprise me ,,, i thought that the dc3 and the sr71 would be the only all time favs for me ,, but the moment i saw the A-10 it joined the list

  • @heettreet Your, welcome it's my favortire too. Some say its ugly, I love the look of it... unless I was in a tank. :P

  • Respond to this video... I guess of you want to test that get DCS A-10 and fly too close to an AAA.

  • @heettreet they can fly on part of one wing missing, oner tail gone, or one engine and still make it back. landing will be out of the question tho.

  • @heettreet i remember hearing that not only can it fly with one out, it was designed to fly with one engine being completely shot off the aircraft...

  • @BulletBlazerSS thanks for the reply ,, ,i can never get enough info on the a10 ,,, and yes ,, the genius that put the very short supports on the engines gave it such stability with engine gone ,, i can believe that as well

  • @heettreet yes actually it can it was givenextra armor plating especially on the underside and can still function minus an engine

  • @heettreet -- yes it can survive on one engine, redundancy in cable system if hydraulics are lost. avionics specialist on this plane for 5 years. amazing aircraft ..

  • @heettreet It can fly on one engine. It can also fly with half the tail gone and pretty big chunks of the wing missing. The flight controls are redundant and the pilot sits in a titanium "bathtub." The A-10 was designed to fly in the weeds taking all kinds of fire and bring the pilot back home.

  • @heettreet Indeed it can fly without an engine. My uncle was an A-10 pilot and he said it is the most underated jet he's flown!

  • @heettreet The A-10 is designed to saunter into a fight, knock some fools out, and still limp back home. It has triple-redundant control systems, the engines are paired with the rudders to mask the IR signature, and the engines are externally mounted so that should they take a hit, the engine can fall off without risking further damage to the aircraft. This is truly a wonder from the Cold War era.

  • @heettreet can even fly with upto 10 feet of a win missing too.

  • @heettreet The aircraft is designed to fly with one engine, one tail, one elevator and half a wing torn off.I love THe A-10

  • @heettreet Yes. In fact, that's why it has two. If one goes out the other can get it home.

  • @heettreet yes it will as a matter of a fact many were shot to piece in the first go around with iraq that they limped in being towed in flight by refueling birds becuase of fuel lose and some even came back with out engine or tail fins it was made to be punished and kick ass and with new mod's its only became a more formidable foe

  • @heettreet A friend of mine was a Structural Repair and Maintenance guy for the Air Force. They can survive with only one engine. In addition, every system has secondary backups so you could shoot the the thing to hell and it would still fly great. The cockpit is also a titanium, bullet-proof capsule to protect the pilot.

  • @heettreet God damnit bf3! lol jking bf3 can barely capture 1/10 of the beauty of this beast!

  • @heettreet The A-10 can not only fly with 1 engine, it can fly missing upto 1/3 of its wings and only 1 tail fin. A flying tank!

  • @heettreet It can fly with an engine out. These things are built like tanks.

  • @heettreet

Not only CAN it, it has. As well as with pieces of it's airframe blown off. Some people think it's an ugly plane, but I love it.

  • Comment removed

  • @heettreet It will still fly with one engine half a wing missing and all the fuel lines cut (it has four).

  • @heettreet yes the warthog is designed to fly with one engine out and missing most of its wings.

    things a beast

  • @heettreet Yes it can fly with one engine out and I think with a damaged remaining engine. It's able to do this because the craft can actually rudder pivot and slice through the air at an angle. Imagine the Heisman trophy. This ability also allows it to lose parts of its wing. "The flying bathtub."

  • Looks like a VTOL ;D

  • @ 0:24 it looks like Horus the Egypt God on some drawings ... greetings ;)

  • You weren't kidding about slow mo. You did this on a still. How much mem did you use?

  • @Back7sword The file was about 17mb and I recorded for about 15 seconds. When played back, the length of the high speed footage is 5 minutes long. I sped up a few parts of this to keep the length of the video down. I recorded about 15 different shots during the flight of the A10 so I have a TON of footage of it, well over an hour of video. It's hard to pick out the good stuff out of that!

  • @taofledermaus 17meg's not that bad. At what Res? I have a HD camcorder that shoots at 50FPS but this is something I could really use. I never made the move to Digital SLR so have really missed out. I'm going to try and buy a Canon 7D this summer. Look forward to experimenting.

    Thanks for the swift reply

  • @Back7sword It's a small resolution, 432 x 192. If the shot you take doesn't look good at that small native size, it really will look bad when you resize it to a larger size. You don't have a lot of resolution to work with and it is hard to keep objects like this in frame when you are zoomed in.

  • If you are on the ground and NOT wearing the stars and stripes, you're going to want NO PART OF THAT. Run like a little girl.

  • @Achenato Yes, especially when you're an ally. 28th March 2003 POPOV 35 POPOV 36

  • i flew an a-10 until i was sent to f-22 school. i still think the a-10 is my favourite. its a tough mans plane. you dont mess with an a-10 ! i flew over my ex girlfiends home in and and now shes in hell frying with her boyfriend..

  • all flapped out and nothing to drop!

  • @mrbadx19 I'd love to see this plane drop bombs or fire that cannon! That has to be the coolest thing. The sound this plane makes when it is flying is one of the eeriest noises I've ever heard. Just raises the hair on the back of your neck... so cool!

  • @taofledermaus at 70 rounds per second you'd need one hell of a camera!

  • Haha, see everyone thinks those are all RC planes! XD

  • @SlaveZero1234 It's really hard to tell the difference. Some of the planes I filmed are SO perfect and shiney that they could be mistaken for a tiny RC plane taken right out of the box. On top of that the high speed really distorts reality too!

  • @taofledermaus Yeah, now you just need to take your RC plane and make it look like a real one! XD
