@BOS6940 Sorry man. My copy is legit. I don't have any links to offer. I would highly recommend just buying the software, but if you feel that you must obtain it in a significantly less legal fashion, im sure you wont have any trouble finding a torrent somewhere on google.

@ziprider255 Thank you! I use a program called Reason 4. I made separate tracks for each windows sample I chose to use (found under C:/Windows/Media) By loading them into their own NN-XT sampling devices. By playing the samples at different speeds I was able to get different frequencies out of them. After doing so,  ya just let the creativity flow and arrange these altered sounds into a musical idea.

Reason 4 (Made by propellerheads) I'm not familiar with garage band, so I can't tell you whether or not they're much alike. However, I can say that reason is awesome sounding and easy to use software.

if you like garage band but are using windows, i suggest checking out Mixcraft. its VERY similar and user friendly. I believe there is a 14 day trial to test it before you buy

I think almost none of this sounds are actually on your hard drive. All of them are changed a little bit by a program.

That's kind of the idea. ;) You take the sounds that are native to windows, alter them (picth, speed, start points, duration, etc.) and use these altered familiar sounds to form a song.
