I recommend you don't use vista on a netbook EVER,

use xp or windows 7

vista is just too much for netbooks

I played gta sa on one in bestbuy and it worked. Then i played gta iv on their $600 alienware (yeah it didnt sell for what it really was so they lowered it) and it ran better then the consoles ran them.

Op de EEEpc werkt dit prima, op mijn andere filmpje had ik eerst 800x600 en dat past niet goed op het scherm, maar met 800x480 werkt het prima hoor.

Ik heb hier zelf een iso image gebruikt met daemon-tools. Ik heb ook een usb-IDE adapter die ik in een normale pc dvd-rom drive kan doen (maar dan moet je wel wat van computers afweten, anders wordt het lastig, net als het Daemon Tools verhaal). Ik had die van mij via Ebay ergens uit Hongkong gehaald.

als de de gta VC cd hebt kan je die via een externe cd-rom drive (via usb) gewoon installeren. Het starten lukt eerst niet omdat gta in 800x600 wil starten en dat ondersteund het scherm niet, je kan nu even via de vga aansluiting een ander scherm aansluiten (bijv. die van je normale pc oid), dan zet je het beeld daarop (fn toets + f?) en start je het spel, nu even via de instellingen naar 640x480 zetten en afsluiten, dan kan je je weer het scherm afkoppelen en het scherm starten op je eeepc

, nu kan je het spel nog instellen op 800x480 en dat was het. Als je er helemaal niet uitkomt moet je maar even een bericht achter laten.

I doubt it, my EEE is running windows FLP (an official stripped version of XP PRO). I read that not even GTA2 runs under WINE so I don't believe is possible.

Sad to say, EEE PC is not officially sold in Russia. You have either to order it online - which means you have to pay for shipping and may be you will have trouble with local warranty service; or to deal with unofficial imported devices, which are usually overpriced.

Ik heb hem via Ebay bij aiw84y (ofzo:P, als je het precies wilt weten moet je het maar even zeggen). Hij kost 420 dollar en 80 dollar verzendkosten (351 euro dacht ik). Hij werd verzonden in cadeaupapier en mede daardoor heb ik verder geen invoerrechten heoven te betalen.

How does Windows XP Fundamentals compare to XP Pro? Is it really any different? Does it save any space?

Well I just installand Fundamentals because it's extremely easy to install (oppsite to normal xp (pro)) because FLP uses a vista style installer and it's easy to run from an SD-card. I think it will take a little less space because stuff like movie maker is taken out.

How good is the video quality on the Eee PC? GTA Vice City is my fav game and i'd buy one but I don't know much about how well the game plays. Also what are your system specs? Did you overclock you system? Are your system settings at stock? How high are the video settings set at?

Pretty good, it hasn't got a glare screen though. at 630mhz (like in this movie) you've got about 13fps, with 900mhz it runs at 30 fps. Bios 551, running at 630 or 900mhz. video settings are set to low (drawing distance fully to the left).

the big question is how'd you get the resolution to be 800x480? when I installed vice city on mine, it wouldn't even start because it was bitching about the resolution being unsupported or some such thing

Well very simpel:

1. hook up an external screen

2. set the screen to the external screen

3. open gta vice city and go to options and set the resolution to 800x600

4. set the screen back to the EEE LCD panel

5. open gtaVC and set the resolution to 800x480

6. play :P
