Hiddink may have remained professional but don't forget he only had a short term contract, and was the russia manager at the time too, so he's not going to put his neck on the line as a manger. Guus Hiddink is a very professional, intelligent manager. I have a deep respect for this man. To me, he changed the image of Chelsea. When Man U met Chelsea in te 2008 Final, the referee was from Slovakia and that is a weaker league than Norway, so if that Slovak ref can handle the final, then a Norwigen ref can handle this.

You have to remember that Hiddink had only been at Chelsea for a matter of months. He had not experienced the recent heartbreak that all of the other Chelsea players had in the Champions League (3 or 4 occasions for some of them).
That doesn't take away from the fact that he is a humble professional and a great man, but the emotions wouldn't have been running as high within him as they were within Drogba or Ballack.

As a Chelsea fan, I say get on with it, and be glad that my team's former manager Jose Mourinho knocked out the same team that controversially knocked Chelsea out last season. Barcelona paid the price and they did it against Inter in the same stage of the competition as last season. I'm sorry but is Jamie Redknapp really saying that just because the referee is with the Norweign League that he is not good enough? Remember Graham Poll's performance in the 2006 World Cup, 3 yellow cards to the same player!! Truth is Chelsea had the entire 90 plus minutes to finish off Barcelona and didnt take there large host of chances. Barca has 10 men don't forget and still managed to score at the vital time. No way could UEFA rig that. Get over it and move on.

Why UEFA? Yes, this referee doesn't referee in the strongest league in Europe, but he has been on the FIFA list for 15 years and has handled nearly 50 other European games so I'm sorry but people cannot say that he has not got the experience to take charge of such a game when he has. When Man U met Chelsea in te 2008 Final, the referee was from Slovakia and that is a weaker league than Norway, so if that Slovak ref can handle the final, then a Norwigen ref can handle this.

@Hazza133 watch the 2005 match between Barca and Chelsea in the CL. Chelsea scored a goal from a corner while Carvalho was hugging the goalkeeper - it would have been an easy save as well. It's football and I don't think this match was rigged or fixed because bad decisions went both ways.

That interview with Guus Hiddink was an excellent example of how to keep yourself composed. Hiddink did himself proud there after his side's unfortunate exit.
All the same though, it would have made more sense if he HAD said "No, it's not too strong to accuse UEFA of not wanting a second English team in the final."

You have to remember that Hiddink had only been at Chelsea for a matter of months. He had not experienced the recent heartbreak that all of the other Chelsea players had in the Champions League (3 or 4 occasions for some of them).
That doesn't take away from the fact that he is a humble professional and a great man, but the emotions wouldn't have been running as high within him as they were within Drogba or Ballack.
