I have a 2004 F-150 extended cab 5.4L 2wd. I am thinking aout putting on a 14" body si/do Magnaflow. Any input? How loud woud it be (my 04 has 4 cats and do not plan to mess with them at all)
Mags are gonna be pretty quiet unless u delete the precats or go with high flow cats on the f150s, check out darrenWS6's profile or search f150 11" Magnaflow, because his system is about the loudest i could find on youtube for f150s with Magnaflow. Flowmaster may be a better solution for u because they are pretty loud for just catback systems, for example the 40, super 40, and super 44 series are very popular.
if you go with the 3" inlet and 2.5" outlet version it will be very loud. The 2.5" inlet and 2.25" outlet is a bit quieter.
I too would suggest just leaving the cats alone. You also can get a very very loud sound by cutting the Y-pipe and going with the short dual/dual 2.5 inch in/out magnaflow.
Our shop truck, 2007 F150, has the big 22 inch dual in/dual out magna and it sounds great.
Bringing in your own muffler would save you $75.00 off the cost of a job. Typically a full dual with tips is 475 so it would cost you 400 with your own muffler
lol 4* that idea is only good for true duals.
