@RadioActiveOreo Well Project Diva extend is coming out soon, so we can only hope! :D They seem to be trying to put of the other vocaloids' songs in on this one
This song is actually quite hopeful, isn't it? Most of the song, she sings about being unable to leave her box, being afraid of the outside and change, but the final line implies that she was successful in changing. 'There were times I thought that way too'. It implies that even if you believe you can't,in the future you will feel differently and will be able to change.
Am I right? The song is great, and though I can figure out some lines, the whole story has me stuck. And the 'Yes, I'm alive' part....I think I can figure it out, but its hard to say anything on it, so I know I don't...'know it'.
no, i think the story is about two people who are stuck in their same boring lives..but they persevered because they know they still have their future...the way they refer to the box is how they explain their current lives, its not that they want to change, its that they cant change it anymore instead they kept on expecting for the future..."this box cannot get out" means that in their current life, they cant do anything to change it, thats why...
...it was stated that "they reached thei hands out of the box" meant that they want to reach their dreams, its like they are alive but not, but then they want to live. SO the only way they can live is to dream for their future, together.
Hmmm...I thought this video was them always doing what others told them that they were not able to be themselves, hence the 'box', but when they met each other they were able to 'live' and be themselves.
hmm, wat ryly is the meaning of the box? i guess u can simply say that it represents their comfort zone, like they dont want other influences to affect their current lives, but still saying that they also live means that they want to change, like is sed their, reaching their hands out means that they want to go out of this life, its like i dont want to get hurt so i just hope for the future but that hope is also now gone, thats why they keep on saying that they r stuck inside the box,
i cant really tell what is the meaning of the song but one factor is the same, they WANT to change their current selves...one thing that really hit me inside was the part about them running away and hiding in their dreams, cuz im like that too, and maybe for others, there are some parts of the song that appeals to u
Yeah, this song appeals to me too, especially the part when Rin says she has been going along with other people. That to me says that she's not being herself, and I have that same problem too.
Well i always considered the 'box' their outside selves or shells. You know when people can't be themselves, they are trapped in their own bodies and can't even do what they want to do.
(chorus) Distantly, my smile used to show From my great dreams, I ran and hid away Living along with so many people-I am alive At a place separated from that distant town Why are there still no changes? From another box a hand reaches out A little bit of that feeling disappears The receding voices of people Night has come in this town Understanding myself, I won't leave this box As though the colors around me won't stain I hugged myself tightly and shut my eyes
I heard from a previous comment that it might be a reference to the song 'Saru demo wakaru' which I think has a similar theme? I wouldn't really know because I haven't found a translation of the song, but I'm going off of hikusa's comment on their video. :3
-"box" = them(makes sense, since the boxes they have has their favorite food)
-They seem to feel that they're different from people, losing their feel of freedom(or being themselves) and afraid to open up. They want to open up, but feel that it seems reckless to do so("This box cannot get out") Being around each other, they can be themselves, even if they're different ("yes, I do live/yes, I am alive") and decide to be that way, despite people's opinions.
Yeah, like 'yes I do live'. When you're different, people kind of see your thoughts and opinions as stupid, so you are kind of ignored. So she's saying, "HELLO! I AM ALIVE, DAMMIT!"

Looks like there's a little reference to other Rin and Len PVs by Glider at 1:33-1:37 [the stars being a reference to "Gemini" and the wires from "Kokoro"/"Kokoro Kiseki"].
*shrug* There are some symbols that Glider uses in all of his/her PVs, like you said. I've seen the red flowers, the sprouting plant, etc. around the PVs... I kinda like the connections :) It's kinda like little cameos! ...Sorry, I think I just repeated exactly what you just said. ;P
PS. Did anyone else notice that Glider changed the style of eyes? :D
It's a lovely song; I like the voice very much, it sounds cute. I also like the style of art, it looks so fresh and clean.
Also, a little note about 'this box cannot get out' - maybe it's more like 'I won't get out of this box'? It's just seems to me being more logical, for Kagamine to refer to himself being in a box, rather than calling himself a box
I love all of your translations. <3 Especially this one, the song actually reminds me of myself a bit.
I'm gonna get thumbed down if I'm wrong, but I guess... the song is mainly about times when you feel afraid of the world, when you feel like you're not even living anymore (Which explains the "Box cannot get out" part?), or not human. And that occasionally, everyone feels that way. Ah, I'm probably just rambling now...but thats how I feel about the song.
Aw, I think that's a good interpretation, like in the beginning they 'didn't want to get wet' so I guess they were afraid of the world and the 'box cannot get out' is almost like, 'I can't get out of this box [of fear and judgment by others?]' I assume the judgment part because of how they didn't want to hear voices around and be stained by colors [of other people?]. Not sure though, just speculating~ :]
And now I'm rambling and possibly going to be thumbed down, haha. <3
@deviousmew I agree, but I think it's more about being afraid of going towards what you really want in life and feeling trapped inside a box after time. It's starting to rain and the box is becoming uncomfortable, thus why they want to get out so badly and are willing to risk getting their dreams crushed.
I've been waiting for this~ soundares, I think your English has improved a lot. :D Thank you for taking the time to translate these, I really appreciate it.

The rain is falling in this town
Since it's no good getting wet,
I won't leave this box

The sun is dazzling,
I won't leave this box
As though I can't hear the voices around me,
I hugged myself tightly and shut my eyes
