You know as well as me that Shane seems to like his drink; in my humble opinion, that's Shane, like it or not. Your personal experience with alcoholism is, you must agree, hardly an argument in any discussion other than a discussion 'bout the people you refer to. Shane, I reckon, is not one of them. To put Shane down as a drunken twat is disrespectful, at the very least. Furthermore, every band is entirely made up of several people; even a backing band. That's why it's called a "band".

and no, bob dylan is not a band. he is the boss who hires people to play backup...they have no vote to fire him. what are they going to tell him, "you're no longer allowed to tour as bob dylan - you're someone else now!" now THAT is just stupid.

BTW, if you want to listen to a punk band that keeps it together for every performance, check out Flogging Molly. only the lead singer is irish but, he writes all the lyrics and it's his background that is the backbone of this irish tinged punk band. or the young dubliners - they are irish rock but, they cover a couple of pogues songs on their most recent cd.
