  • I love this song, I play a little giutar and it is technically challenging, definately not a 3 chord wonder. It is a beautiful song, thanks Guilbert, you are a clever guy.

  • How come this video ( which is great ) has over a million views - and yet the far superior video opposite - `The sweetest Clair video ever ` - featuring footage of Gilbert and Clair has far less views ! Clair even comments on it - and this video isn`t even spelled correctly ! Watch the other one !!!!!!

  • Anyone wishing to send a personal message to CLAIR HERSELF please see the video opposite - `The sweetest Clair video ever ! ` - SHE WILL SEE IT !

  • @jdbeo you tosser

  • this takes me way back..to my childhood i rember watching it on TOTP..and it reminded me of my childhood friend called clair

  • SICK PEDO

  • @jdbeo You sure are .....

  • Clair must of been on top of the world! Cool song !

  • Thank you for sharing this charming song.

  • Don't know if you got my message, thought it would show up. That's what I heard back in the day. If it wasn't his daughter who was the girl? Or is it that there really was no girl as everyone was talking about, maybe just a song?

  • Everybody from my time knew this was Gibert's daughter!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @leftyguns221 No they didn`t - because it wasn`t his daughter .

  • @leftyguns221 odd, maybe you're right, but that's what I heard years ago on radio, oh well can't expect all information you hear to be 100% thanks for the info. Do you know if she was related to him, or was just a song for a made up girl? Have a great day.

  • My birthday song

  • Christopher Walken look alike but with bigger hair...

  • I love to dedicate this song to my favorite DZMM anchorwoman Atty. Claire Castro

  • tierna,muy dulce

  • Great song from our McCartney soundalike good skills

  • i love this song.....

  • best song on earth :D

  • This is a song about a little girl named Claire, who was the daughter of his manager at that time.

  • It IS creepy. Listen to the words. I'm very open to the idea of compatible energy...and specialness we can feel in one each other...regardless of age. Too many people traffic in age.

But this song goes a little too far. It goes just a bit over the line of innocence.

  • Happy Birthday at 65 Birthday

  • BUT I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Stop saying we're idiots and that we have to grow up.

The lyrics to this song are slightly creepy. I mean he wants to marry his niece? He thinks shes more then a child? Yeah thats not obviously 'sweet' lyrics. Plain creepy.

  • @TheDellanator Have a listen to the lyrics. He doesn't want to marry her at all-it's the opposite. He's babysitting her and Claire had a crush on him and it's not his niece. It's a f...king pop song for f..ks sake. Listen to the bloody lyrics.

    Regards

  • @MrTarenpoint I did you idiot. But he said "you're more then a child to me" Obviously that means he views her as something ELSE, that isn't a kid. So what if its a pop song? Pop songs can be disgusting to

  • @TheDellanator You are revealing more about yourself than Gilbert with these comments ......

  • @mohawk3881 How am I revealing anything?..O.o wtf

  • @TheDellanator

    That's Mr Idiot to you

    Regards

  • @MrTarenpoint You're an idiot since I never said anything about myself. Regards

  • I I most recently bought a box of old 45 rpm records I came across this one and instantly became pukey sick .I rememberd this God awful song playing back in the 70's and it made me want to hurl.I could not wait to smash it to bits. Now at least someone will never have to listen to the one I had ever again. :0

  • Losers. this is a perfect qualitiy song !!!!!

I stopped to answer losers !!!!

  • Losers. this is a perfect qualitiy song !!!!!

  • this song makes me wish i had met a claire in my life, but i never did, and i probably wont now since where im from nobody has that name

  • @84benfiquista haha, my name is Claire :) you'll proabely meet someone else with that name, its pretty common, I know like 10 other Claires.

  • Oh yes, I often write songs about marrying my niece or goddaughter. It's perfectly normal.

  • oh yes...i remember this song fondling....errrrrr...ooops..i mean FONDLY.

  • Where do you buy Gilbert O'Sullivan's new cd? The record stores seem to be disappearing. And yes, I'm sure he still put out great music since the early 1970's. He has a knack for melody--that is sorely missed in the mostly lousy music of today.

  • The first time I heard Gilbert on the radio I thought it was Paul. Gilbert O'Sullivan had a handful of great songs in the early 1970's. I think this was his best one.

  • @MrZeldalove Gilbert`s ` handful ` of great songs in the early 70`s was only the beginning . He has continued releasing quality music and has an album out right now !

  • @mohawk3881 Record stores seem to be disappearing. Where would you buy Gilbert O"Sullivan's new CD? I'm sure that, with his strong penchant for melody, that he continued to come up with great tunes. Claire reminds me of happy times when I was 15 and carefree.

  • @MrZeldalove His new album GILBERTVILLE is a available in HMV stores and all the online stores like Amazon etc . His website is great too - there`s a link on my channel . All his albums are being re-released one by one - the first one `Himself ` is out now .

  • Brings back some great memories. I love this song.

  • You get to a stage in life when you can start to be honest with yourself. Ex (well ish) biker and rocker, I can look again at the music that I liked, but could not admit to at the time.

Gilbert is up there amongst my old favourites and is one of those singer/songwriters, that are unique, in that they are recognisable from the first few bars.

  • Love this reminds me of our daughter ok bex.

  • Ah, quel souvenir! Incroyable. Il me paraît que j'aie vieilli depuis cette époque :)

  • Claire's my nameXD

  • I think he sounds like McCartney but I do like him a lot we are nt goin to fall out over this let's ask other people what they think, does Gilbert sound like Paul McCartney?

  • Gilbert's gentle sad songs capture the good feeling amongst people of that generation, inspiring the values and respect of others that we hold dear.

Simply put, the importance in making us think about the things we do

before we do them. His music evokes compassion and warmth.

  • Comment removed

  • It doesn't matter what they all say, he is one of the gratest ever and I do love his songs

  • This sound like Paul McCartney

  • CLAIRE HEPPENSTALL YOU THINK PAM SPURR SHOULD HAVE THAT RIGHT YOURE DEAD BIG BROTHER MOVE

  • I CAN REMEMBER THIS SONG AS I WAS ONLY SIX YEARS OLD.AT THE TIME AND NOW I AM 46 YEARS OLD.I STILL LOVE TO LISTEN TO GILBERT O SULLIVAN.

  • This tune melts the years away and brings me back to Late '72. I was going with a girl named Sue. Nothing became of it but as I listen to this great song, I wonder what ever became of her...I hope she is doing well

  • back in the day, this was just a sweet song about a child he knew. it remains so. in this dark world, there has to be a boogyman lurking around every corner. what a sad little planet we live on. thanks for posting a wonderful video.

  • As I understand it, Claire is in fact the daughter of Osullivan's then Manager. She was just a little girl then when she visited the studio where Gibert was recording. So, there and then he decided to write this song for young Claire, which hit the jackpot.

So, don't be so stupid you evil-minded people !!

  • One of the best ballads ever written and by one of the best songwriters of all time. Gilbert O'Sullivan.

  • agreed

    wiliam

  • Beautiful song by a truly talented man.

  • no one can hear something about strokes in the main verse"claire.."? i can't guess it

  • Let's get back to a time when songs were great, like this one.....I hope

  • What about, simply, a bloody good song?

And what the fuck is "X-Factor"?

A vehicle for talentless shit and an even more talentless shit audience!

  • This was a huge hit I remember it from the radio fondly...I never heard anyone say it was pedo then...never occurred to us to think that...

  • Fantastic, I have been a fan of his for many years, since his first hit,

  • I remember the very first time I heard this song. I thought it was about a city in Wisconsin.

  • Gilbert writes a lovely song for his managers daughter and how does he repay him? By ripping him off for years. What a c

  • I'm going to stand up and say that I don't think the song is about pedophilia. Sure that's what we tend to think NOW, but the song didn't come out yesterday. In 1972, we didn't think that everybody and his frikkin' DOG was a pedophile; we didn't think a child molester was hiding behind every tree.

So a man could love a little girl in an utterly non-sexual way, and he could write and sing a love song "as if" it were to a girlfriend, because that would be "cute." It wouldn't be cute today.

  • This is the song I was named after (:

I was gonna be Elisabeth but just days before my mom gave birth she heard this song, so I am Claire today <3

  • A hit in Nov/Dec 1972.

  • a la memoria de la chica de ojos azules de baradero 1979

  • Love the melody...Great.

  • great song- can't believe the morons who comment here!~They must live a sad existence-- Thanks for the upload

  • Nice song but cut that hair you McCartney sound alike ,,but love ya man

  • @Xapple09 he sounds nothing like paul. although the beatles were a great band--wouldn't it be boring if all music sounded like theirs? everytime i hear this tune on the radio--it turn it up louder than the rap that is in the car next to me. i have a good sound system in my car.

  • roy west

  • It was auctually about his Managers Daughter.

  • It's just a sweet song about his neice ...nothing pedo about it .. Grow up people!

  • Comment removed

  • @desymagennis Gilbert was not clair's uncle, he was a friend of the family because her father gordon mills was gilbert's manager. Lovely song though, don't know why people would say bad things about it !

  • @TheRealMichaelWayson I don't know if that's true, but it's certainly funny.

  • @desymagennis Of course! Pfft!

  • @desymagennis i agree with this...I just wanna know how many of these people were 70's kids theres nothing wrong with this song its a great song from the 70's and it still is.

  • I thought he write this song to commereate the birth of his daughter.Good luck to him.

  • Summertime, the Beach, the surf, memories baby!! - all things great-and this wonderful music too. These were wonderful times- yet, I believe the best is yet to come. Thank you for posting this beautiful song.

  • The fact that so many on-line 'wits' want to call Mr O'Sullivan a kiddly fiddler/pedo/nonce etc, for writing a blameless song about a small girl with a crush on her uncle reflects just how crass, puerile, dumbed down and plain unpleasant our culture has become. Far too many people are happy to rot their IQs with Heat magazine, Katie Price, tabloids, Big Brother and the X-Factor for this to change any day soon. If anyone has successfully cracked backwards time travel, could they drop me a line?

  • @TomthatiscalledTom I totally agree. Your comment is brill. You hit the nail on the head there. I remember my mum playing this song when I was small and I LOVED it. Today's society is so obsessed with sex. I hat Heat mag and all those chavvy, dumb magazines..oh! for the days of Tiger Beat lol!

  • @GibbyGibbyGibb Too right. The age of innocence is fast disappearing. An awesome, and under-recognised master of songwriting.

  • @TomthatiscalledTom Couldn't agree more with your comments on the Great Gilbert. In response to your time travel question, Nature will find a way. Children have always wanted to be adults, and they pretty much are now but the price has been to lose the age of innocence. A shared commodore 64, one tv, and the video were enough!!

  • @TomthatiscalledTom Could not have said it better myself.

  • @TomthatiscalledTom I think they are only "wits" half of the time, if you garner my meaning. This is a lovely song.

  • @TomthatiscalledTom "Words mean so little when you look up and smile.

I don't care what people say, to me you're more than a child.""But why in spite of our age difference do I cry.

Each time I leave you I feel I could die.

Nothing means more to me than hearing you say,

"I'm going to marry you. Will you marry me? Oh hurray!""

Cause you know, thats not pedo at all. Maybe todays generation is more protective and weary of child predators, unlike previous generations.

  • @SmileChicky "Will you marry me, Uncle Ray?" Real name: Raymond O'Sullivan. "Gilbert" is a tribute to songwriters Gilbert and Sullivan.

  • @SmileChicky It's 'Will you marry me, Uncle Ray?' - that being Ray O'Sullivan's real name and that being what his god-daughter Clair used to say to him. She is a real living person and it's her laughter you hear at the end of the track. You're an idiot.

  • @TomthatiscalledTom

    wonderful writing...........

  • @basqu01 thanks!

  • Well, let the pseudo-intellectuals (debating on YouTube? Really?) say what they will. For me, this song rates a perfect "10" on my ick-meter. An adult guy singing a love song to a four-year-old girl? EEWWW!

  • @jbee650

it was a simpler time and was completely innocent I am sure

if he was a paedo I dont think he would advertise it in such a way

if you wrote and released a song like that today the police would pay you a visit and request to see your PC

  • "I don't care what people say, to me you're more than a child," and

"But why in spite of our age difference do I cry.

Each time I leave you I feel I could die.*

Seriously if I ever say such things to a 3yo girl, shoot me in the head. I'll deserve it.

  • @starkfist Sir: To be frankly honest, I (and, i suspect, many thousands of other viewers of this 'You Tube' page) are getting sick and tired of reading pointed comments about Gilbert O'Sullivan's chart-topping single from 1972 - "Clair". The people who make these unpleasant and ill-informed comments obviously know nothing about Mr O'Sullivan the man.

  • @starkfist I am not trying to antagonize you or wind you up, but if you think that Gilbert O'Sullivan (the renowned Irish singer/songwriter) is some sort of paedophile or nonce case, then you are very much mistaken. In fact, you are about as far off the mark as it is possible to be.

May I remind you, sir, that "Clair" - which topped the UK charts for two weeks back in the November of 1972 - was not a controversial track at the time of its chart success. Not in the slightest.

  • @starkfist I don't mean to be rude, but ......

IF YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE SAD, POLITICALLY CORRECT PEOPLE THAT SEES SOMETHING SINISTER IN THIS SONG ("CLAIR" BY GILBERT O'SULLIVAN), THEN TAKE A GOOD HARD 'BUTCHER'S' AT YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR ...... MAYBE YOU ARE THE ONE WITH THE PROBLEM. (Oh, pardon me for using the old-fashioned word 'problem'; how very poliitcally incorrect of me. I should have said "ISSUE" instead ! hahaha !!!)

  • @TheEctomorph well said

  • @starkfist Sir: When Gilbert O'Sullivan's famous hit single, 'Clair', was originally released - on the MAM record label - back in the October of 1972, it did not engender any controversy - let alone moral outrage - among the general public WHATSOEVER. Back in those "non-PC" days ( of 39 years ago), the song 'Clair' was accepted by the Great British public for what it was (and is): i.e. a pleasant, 'middle of the road' pop song, with perfectly innocuous and innocent lyrics.

  • No incest at all, its just a beatiful song

  • Comment removed

  • @TejMulen Sir: I don't mean to be rude, but ......

IF YOU ARE (STILL) ONE OF THOSE SAD, POLITICALLY CORRECT PEOPLE THAT SEES SOMETHING SINISTER IN THIS SONG, THEN TAKE A GOOD HARD 'BUTCHER'S' AT YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR ...... MAYBE YOU ARE THE ONE WITH THE PROBLEM.

May I remind u that Ms Clair Mills HERSELF (about whom this song - by G.O'S. - was written) has stated quite categorically and unequivocally that there is nothing perverted or sinister about the lyrics of the song, whatsoever.

  • I have listened to the song intently, not any concern at all with the lyrics, clearly an uncle referring to childish expressions of marriage, just as my twins both indicated to me when 5 that they would marry me (cause they want to end what they think is my lonliness). Say, I never married my daughters, did this chap end up marrying Claire?

  • @michael97501 You can say that again, Michael.

  • @Ellie8969 Madam: Please don't bother to insult me on this (or any other) 'You Tube' site again, as (if you do) I will not even waste my time reading your disgusting, vile comments - let alone respond to them.

I hate to say it, but you are an exceedingly rude, foul-mouthed and insensitive woman - if the comment that you 'posted' on this site recently is anything to go by, that is.

    Jog on.

  • @TejMulen yes i did see the video that was then ,but its not the looks its the voice that matters and to this day mr mckeown is still doing gigs and may i add woman of all ages still think he is sexy ,evan though he is 56 years old

  • @TejMulen HOW DO YOU KNOW IF HE IS LITTLE?AND AS FOR SAYING THE PROBABILITY OF MEETING GOS IN REAL LIFE IS ZERO IT COULD HAPPEN NEVER SAY NEVER I SAID THAT ABOUT LES MCKEOWN OF THE BAY CITY ROLLERS BUT I MET HIM IN 2003 AND EVAN SPOKE TO HIM.

  • @TejMulen who do you think you are?you dont evan know TheEctomorph, he has a right to comment and i for one enjoy reading his comments have a nice day!!!!!

  • @BonelessSausage69 You are one very sad bastard, with an extremely dirty mind.

I suggest that you go to getalife.com

  • @TejMulen Well, would you ...... SIR? Have the bottle to accuse Gilbert O'Sullivan of being a "pervert" to his face? I would love to know.

  • @TejMulen Sir: Would you have the bottle to accuse Mr O'Sullivan of being a "pervert" to his face, I wonder?

Possibly ...... but I doubt it.

Oh, and if you are a big hard man, how come you are in the habit of insulting people ONLINE? Anyone can do that; it doesn't exactly require a great deal of courage or bottle.

What you have been doing recently, sir, is hiding behind the shield of online anonymonity. One doesn't need to be hard in order to bombard people with outrageous abuse online.

  • @TejMulen How much more evidence do you need to convince you that Gilbert O'Sullivan is a decent, law-abiding and genuinely honourable man?

May I remind you, sir, that Ms Clair Mills HERSELF has stated quite categorically - on video - that the lyrics of Mr O'Sullivan's hit record from November 1972, are perfectly innocent and innocuous. Would she have done that if he had ever behaved in an inappropriate or ungentlemanly manner towards her, when she was a child?

I rest my case ...... SIR.

  • @TejMulen I don't claim to b a big hard man ...... but I am certainly a lot better at English than you are (if your recent comments on this 'You Tube' site are anything to go by, that is.) What is more, I probably have a higher IQ than you. Certainly I am not one of those sad, ignorant people who think that there is something sinister about the lyrics of "Clair" - Gilbert O'Sullivan's no. 1 hit record from November 72.

  • @TejMulen F**k off, you stupid, ignorant twat! It is people like YOU that are total losers! You don't even know what the difference is between "YOU'RE" and "YOUR". (I am not an academic or highly intelligent person myself - but I was capable of differentiating between those two words way back in 1973 or '74 (when I was eight or nine years of age).

Oh, and by the way, you can't even spell simple words like "loser" or "pervert". Your spelling age must be about seven!

    YOU SAD MUPPET!!

  • @TejMulen F**k off, you stupid, ignorant c u next tuesday.

Gilbert O'Sullivan (God bless him) is no pervert. On the contrary; he is a decent, law-abiding and thoroughly honourable man. I very much doubt whether the same could be said for you.

Oh, and by the way, your spelling ability leaves a great deal to be desired.

    TWAT!

  • thank you my friend my little child of nine years old would you like she´s like the music come with me and so sensibility when we´re listen this wonderful song.

  • torch the fuckers...........

  • @BonelessSausage69 F*****g idiot! You have got a very sick and perverted mind - if your comment on this 'You Tube' site is anything to go by, that is. Jog on and get a life (if you are capable of doing that).

  • I used to sing this to my girlfriend Claire..no wonder she dumped me hahahaha

  • Your are just the best. These songs never get old. Touches your heart.XXOO

  • @BonelessSausage69 That comment is disgusting, so it is. F**k off, you repugnant twat.

  • Check out charm school like a moth to a flame you will love it

  • loved gilberts then and now......i was a 9 year old then..... 1 off 8 girls so we all knew the lyrics ..........that was in glasgow, scotland........... still great music.....x

  • Well

  • Love the kids dancing in the crowd......

  • This song makes me think of my wife of 15 years; her name was Claire.

She's gone now, and my heart breaks every single day when I think of her... I miss her so much. I don't know whether to thank Gilbert O'Sullivan or curse him for this song.

  • absolutly i feel good for that music of forever

    we will listen

  • He should duet with Julian Lennon that would be interesting

  • Absolutely beautiful song. All the people that see pervasion in this lovely , innocent song have obviously never spoken to a 3 year old, and need their disgusting brains washed out. This song was made in 1972, and the words are from a small child who loves her Uncle. She's a 3 year old for goodness sake. Now please go away and take your sick perverted, politically correct, thoughts somewhere else.

  • @smokeytom24 Well said, sir; well said indeed. The indignant, self-righteous people who (erroneously) infer that the lyrics of Gilbert O'Sullivan's chart-topping single from 1972 ["Clair"] are indicative of sexual perversion really annoy me, to be perfectly honest. And, yes, you are quite right when you say that most of these people are members of the 'Politically Correct' fraternity (for want of a better phrase).

  • I absolutely love this song, its my birthday ... my name is Claire, and this really reminds me me of a very innocent childhood.....unassuming...lovely song with a lovely innocent story from days gone by.... when I was a teenager ans people asked my name... they always burst into the first line of the song.. when I got engaged the lads at work always sang this song to my husband.... happy fond memories with no underlying stories in the words..............

  • @317cod Quite right, Claire. I remember Gilbert O'Sullivan's chart-topping single ["Clair"] from my childhood, too. It reached no. 1 in the charts in the November of 1972 - when I was 7.

Obviously, there were some paedophiles/nonces in the music business at the time - that odious man Paul Gadd (a.k.a. Gary Glitter) is perhaps the most obvious case that springs to mind - but Mr O'Sullivan was certainly not one of them. "Clair" is a pleasant, MOR pop song. Nothing more or nothing less.

  • I´m a feel good who´s listenen this music is with me

    Feel a good time

  • @josemartinvalenzuela I am feeling great music I heard when it was new and now my grandkids can listen to it also.

  • hermosa y tierna, imbeciles sin sensibilidad los ha habido siempre, musica maravillosa,no se merece comentarios estupidos.bien por gilbert.

  • my name is Claire! i cry when i hear this... im a wimp. :D

  • i THINK HE'S 65 NOW, Bet he still has that healthy crop!

  • Yes, I must admit it does sound funny or even creepy, but if you look at it from the closeness of an Uncle and niece, it's beautiful! I have 2 nieces and 2 nephews and a great niece. I LOVE them from the bottom of my heart, and loved when they would say" I want to be just like you when I grow up, or I want to live with you when I get bigger. Hell, I wanted to marry MY Uncle John, he was was the coolest! There was NOBODY better than him. (except my puppy!) lol

  • @neonorchid58 my uncle John was the coolest too. high five!

  • @mohawk3881,he does sound just like McCartney but that's a good thing I love both of em

  • I don't know if anybody caught the announcer's error or miscommunication, but, did he say "happy birthday to Gilbert O'Sullivan on his 55th birthday?" and the year was 1972 when the above concert was filmed. If it's true, then he should be 93 years old today. How can this be when Gilbert was performing a concert just last year(2010) at the age of 64 yrs. This coming December, he will be 65 yrs. old. Still an outstanding singer.

  • @buffet62 It`s not an error - if you look at the logo it says ` TOP OF THE POPS 2 ` - it was a re-run of old Top of the pops clips - Gilbert was 55 when the repeat was shown about 10 years ago .

  • ah yes...i remember this song fondling....er...I MEAN FONDLY!!!!!!

  • @rowdymax1 Your wit astounds me, so it does ... NOT.

I assume that you are one of those bigoted, ignorant people who (wrongly) believe that Gilbert O'Sullivan is a paedophile/nonce. I suspect that you are probably a PCZ, too (a politically correct zealot, that is).

People like you really get on my nerves, to be frankly honest.

  • @rowdymax1 F**k off, you stupid, ignorant c u next tuesday!

  • It's still JUST A SONG and as such can be COMPLETE FICTION, I'm just saying you cannot escape the incestuous innuendo IS IN THE LYRIC. Period. shrug.

  • @LindaAdamsSongs Do you know the meaning of the word 'incestuous'? Judging by the context in which you have used that word, it is my guess that you do not.

The number one hit single, "Clair", was written by Gilbert O'Sullivan (one of the most underrated pop/rock musicians that that Great Britain - or Ireland - has ever produced). The song was written about a [then] small child called Clair Mills; the daughter of Mr O'Sullivan's record producer at the time - Mr Gordon Mills.

  • @LindaAdamsSongs Mr O'Sullivan is NOT a relation of Clair Mills - and, even if he were, it would still be OUTRAGEOUS to claim that the song contains "incestuous innuendo". There is absolutely NOTHING SEXUAL about the lyrics of this pleasant, innocuous tune, whatsoever.

IF YOU ARE (STlLL) ONE OF THOSE SAD, POLITICALLY CORRECT PEOPLE THAT SEES SOMETHING SINISTER IN THIS SONG, THEN TAKE A GOOD HARD 'BUTCHER'S' AT YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR ...... MAYBE YOU ARE THE ONE WITH THE PROBLEM.

  • Well having just heard it and its being a lovely bouncy melody Iiked it - then I hit "please say you'll marry me someday oh Claire, you'll marry me Uncle Ray"

Hard to get over that one.

It's not an "age difference" issue, that line's IN there and it IS quite iffy.... say whatever else you like about it.

The only "positive way" to spin that is as the tiny girl who is in that stage of "I wanna marry Daddy" but there's also that babysitting line... ehhhhh

doesn't pass muster by me sorry :)

  • @LindaAdamsSongs You are entitled to your opinion, but I think that you are way off the mark in your assumption that the lyrics of Gilbert O'Sullivan's "Clair" are indicative of sexual perversion.

It is my firm belief that Mr O'Sullivan is a genuinely decent and honourable man.

As I said on this 'You Tube' forum a few months ago: "IF GILBERT O'SULLIVAN IS A NONCE, THE POPE IS AN ATHEIST".

  • Comment removed

  • @TheEctomorph You're absolutely correct! It becomes so tiresome to continue seeing such absurd comments about this song and O'Sullivan. The truth is, pedophiles do not wish to be exposed or have their perversion known. C'mon people, if he was a child molester, he certainly wouldn't announce it to the world in a song! This is a gentle, decent, innocent song, from a good-hearted, family man. I know something of O'Sullivan's background, and any indication of perverse behavior is unfounded.

  • @slimshine953 Well said, sir; well said indeed. You are a good man, and so is Mr O'Sullivan.

  • @TheEctomorph Ah thank you very much, so kind of you to say that... much appreciated. Cheers to you and Mr O'Sullivan! Remember this... bad men will succeed, if good men do nothing.
