Can you travel from one solar system to another and how? I made a custom map with 2 solar systems and I want to know if I can go from one to another, so that I can get my ass kicked there too.
140 ships? It runs pretty smoothly considering that plus you probably have fraps or something running. You must have excellent pc specs. If my machine ran that well with a fleet like that, I'd play itmore often. This and Supreme Commander.
Ive played this game for quite a bit. There are good things but the battles suck. And i'm an X4 fan, so yeah, I'm not obsessed with graphics, effects and such but the battles here suck bad.
Oops! Well still. Space combat isn't for everyone, it has no linearity or cover. It is a battle of tactical logistics and you can't enjoy it unless you take that into account.
The best battle I had was between six maxed out fleets fighting over some stupid electric field. I had to zoom so far out I barely got anything done. Eventually the Vasari guy won, but the damage was so great it was like starting over...
You could have a galaxy with over 400 planets to colonize, and that doesn't even count all of the space debris and electrical storms strewn across the stars. One of the best space RTS games made...
It's not really a space RTS though... I mean, it's set in space, but all of the gameplay takes place on an imaginary 2D plane, you can't attack from above or below or anything. :/
I'm gonna get this game next week in best buy, but I want the expansion to play it with all the features, but I've never have bought anything online. I wanna know if Impulse is really reliable, and how big the file is. (for what I read the expansion it's only downloadable right?)
its plenty reliable, there are a rare few who encounter problems but they tend to be idiots who dont really use their brain :) but even then IC will help you out very eficiently so dont worry dude its a good way to buy
i feel sorry for those unfortunate ships that could make it back to their homeworld...but then again im gunna feel sorry for them when i invade and raze their planet lol!
this game looks pretty cool. what happens when u go to take a planet though? is there a battle on the surface with ground troops, or how does that work?
Theres no fighting on the ground. Its all space battles, its still amazing though. But when you go to another planet, it will either belong to your enemy, pirates, or a rebel faction. So, theres allways a fight. ^.^
When you first colonize planets you suffer from an 'underdevelopment penalty'. You can go into negative credit flow this way.
Click on new colonies, go to the green Planet Development icon in the lower right, then click on the Civilian Infrastructure upgrade. Do this until the red credit penalty reads 0.0. Then you'll make income from taxes on the population of that colony.
try splitting it up into multiple groups, 2 or 3 - it's harder to fight from 2 directions at once, and i noticed several of your weapons just hitting your own ships.
i just started playing the game agian and it wont let me choose where i can put my buildings, it does it by itself like when i build a turret it places it somewhere where i dont want it, can anyone help me i cant seem to fix the problem
I just got the game yesterday, but on the bottom menu tabs, beside the planet picture to the right, there are two options i thought, one for ping and another for autoplaceing of buildings or something like that.
With tec fleets, my fleets dont last long with the green faction after I conquer around 5-6 planets.
I use about 5-8 capital ships for system invasions. My rockets launcher cruisers (about 12) get killed first then the robot repair ships (about 6) and light cruisers (about 6), then my tactical cruisers-those cielo things (about 6), then my heavy cruisers (about 12-18) get killed, then lastly my capital ships get picked off one by one.
You have too little offensive ships. Pile up on the Cobalt frigates and Kodiak Heavy Cruisers. Make sure that while the fleet is being built to search into their weapons and armor. It is VITAL to do research.
DAAAMMNN!! In Homeworld 2 you couldn't do any planetary bombardment stuff. This looks fun! Compared to HW2, is this faster paced, less complicated, or what? Any comments would be helpful
it not HW2. It not as tactical, but it more like warcraft 3 in space. You only need to move in 2-D. It more about building a good mix of ships that will counter you're opponents. Or exploiting his weakly defended planets when his fleet is doing battle somewhere else. Caution...it's not your fast pace RTS, but a slower pace one.
If you like 4x games, you'll love it. If you prefer RTS's like me, you'll fall asleep around hour 4... The battles while decent looking(and I've seen better) are slow paced, and require very little actual player input. Also the economy side of the game is extremely slow paced. If your looking for a 4x game with real-time battles, this is your game. Otherwise, ignore it.
Dude, thats not cool man, this is one of the few company's that don't use copy protection and makes games the customer actually wants. Its one thing to take a game from EA thats just another dumb boring rehash but when something good like this comes around open your wallet and be respectable.
what was that occasional high pitched whine? kinda annoying but if i knew what it was it probably woulndt seem that bad. otherwise this game looks so frikkin sweet
I heard late game battles can last hours is that true?

@existentaeinutila u have to research the technology to be able to travel to other solar systems or if there is a wormhole go through it!

is it the bigger the map, the more ships you can build?

no, even on a small 2 player map you could in theory build a bigger fleet if the recourses were available (and on map editor you can make it so hehe)

No your capital ship or frigate ship launch bombs to the surface of the planet, and you see the explosions and such.
masterhidsert1043 2 years ago
you probably have the game by now, but anyways...
when you attack a planet, certain ships that have the ability to attack a planet just go nuts on them, when you tell them to.
unfortunatly, there is no ground battle which does kinda suck

i am playing as TEC and i own 5 planets now.
so my question:
my total income from all planets is only,i mean realy only 4 money per sec.
i think i could get more.
Any advice to get more credits?
