  • Why dont you drive in the slow lane if you drive like a grandma

  • I suggest you pay closer attention? The freeway merges onto the left side on the bridge so I'm stuck there until I can get over. And going uphill, semis are in the far right doing about 30 so, yeah.

  • I drove 58mph through west chester (speed limit 65) until I was passed by a truck-then I matched it so I could draft, about 4-5 car lengths back, at about 70mph. Which makes me wonder, which is more efficient? Is 5 car lengths really considered drafting?

  • You can get benefits from following a truck up to ten car lengths. But I don't think the benefit of drafting at 70 MPH is worth it--you'd have to get within two car lengths to improve your mileage...and if he got on the brakes you're pretty much cat food.

If you find a trucker doing 60 though (much more common with diesel approaching $5/per) it would be worth the distant draft.

  • I would love to try this but my ego probably wont allow especially when listening to my music and speed up when listening to certain song. I guess you really need to be determined to do this. As long you can do it safely go for it.
