    No, the left rear wheel/tire failure caused the accident. The car has been repaired since the accident, feel free to check out the rest of my videos. Cheers

  • I dont know about 125 mph through a sweeping turn, but that was a hard hit and you were flying.

  • The exit speed of 125 at the top of the esses is realistic. In my '96 M3 race car, Im redlining 4th gear which is about 120-122mph.

  • Yes very True. If you got the balls you can go flat out and the top of the esses is a very high speed section bringing you on to the fastest part of the track.

  • The transmission is a dog box, and the lonely tire bouncing is the front left wheel that came off after the initial hit

  • at first i thought that the trans was in the normal H pattern and you were a shifting mad man. Still, i wish i can down shift like that. How did you loose control?? rear brake bias or just got loose out of no where??

  • The trans is a H pattern, but has straight cut gears. And the cause of the spin was a blown tire

  • I did the same on a public road, albeit in a 1974 Ford Escort at 70mph. That "dodgy halfshaft" turned out to be a bulging tyre. Ran smooth as silk after, apart from the hedge dent in the rear door... Glad you were OK

  • i havent been able to find the pictures again, my history of sites i visited had been erased. the centor of the front clip of your car, was rather badly smashed. almost as if it had hit a pole. it is possible the pictures i saw were of a different race. there was not caption to identify whose car but i know it was gt performance by the colors

  • Wow, big wreck. It sounds like you missed a shift and hit the rev limiter. That could have upset the car enough to get it around. There is a very different engine sound on the second lap. Perhaps you were driving in your mirrors??? You mentioned there was someone right behind you. This looks like a club race. Did you pay for the damage on the other car(s) since it was your fault? Glad you are ok.

  • I'm not sure if you're questioning my tire blowing out, but just to inform you, I shifted into 5th gear a few seconds before the spin, so there is no rev limiter sound. Not to sure what you're hearing. And no I wasn't driving in my mirrors, because I know the driver behind me farily well and I knew he wouldn't do anything to cause an unsafe situation.

  • in 2:41 the car begins to become unsteady and in 2:45 you shifted to a higher gear - this was your misstake. breaking would have been the better decision!

  • I couldn't detect any visible instability, what the hell are you talking about? I'm sure if there was any major instability he would have backed off. Anyway, at first glance it does sort of look like you got tapped- as the car pulls opposite to your blown tire, but I suppose that would be according as you were in a turn at the moment. Hmm..how bad was the damage, if I may ask?

  • Well if you look closely after i finish spinning, you can see my front suspension, wheel, rotor and caliper rolling along side the guardrail to the right of the screen. My feet hurt for a few days as I was pushing the clutch and brake pedal fairly hard, hard enough to bend the clutch pedal. There was damage to the whole left side of the car, both front and rear wheels were completely broken/bent. Rear suspension every link was broken including the subframe.

  • defective tire?...also hard to tell if another car came in contact with you as you spun off the track

  • I doubt it was defective, just a freak accident i guess. There was a car right behind me, the driver hit my front left wheel, half of the shock and the rotor/caliper assembly. Unfortunatly it took him out of the race :(
