@Iamnotfrank you probably need to balance the string tension again, turn the truss rod at the headstock until the strings raise a bit, then test every fret on all strings until you can have a low action but still hear no fret buzz!
No way. Buy a set of GHS heavy gauges, 50 or 55 to 115's i think. Or Ernie Ball Power Slinky's which are 55-110's. Lower tuning generally requires heavier gauges

I had 50-105 on my bass and it was ok if you raised your bridge on the low C but now I've got 55-110 and that is much, much better.
