It's like all these crazy rules about safe food, safe medicine, safe this and that.. If people insist on eating, they should expect to get poisoned. Don't even get me started on buildings
You don't demand this stuff! They make it then you buy it. When's the last time you called BP and told them they better get out there and drill deeper. Farse! Corporations involved with oil and its byproducts keep you from using environmentally friendly hemp oil, plastic, fuel, I don't like using plastic for everything as I understand that it pollutes. The only thing these corporations make that lasts forever is the plastic certainly not the products that you say we demand.don't blame me!
@buddcinder ... Could it be said that we may fuel (pardon the pun) the market ecomony, if we purchase is it not a subtle demand - if something is taken, something usually takes its place and then they do drill deeper.
I'm not sure that anyone keeps me from using environmentallly friendly products - I have a choice and I certainly make the one that is more earth conscious.
We must leave blame behind and take positive steps, like our purchases, to move from further devastation and havoc.
I have to admit I've felt the same as him, it's a terrible thought at that but it's our fault, we demand everything and this was always going happen and as long as we want things with no regard we will all be subject to this type of thing. This oil spill is not as bad as children in China on slave labour yet we still buy from them knowing where and the whys of it. We deserve ourselves and what happens because of it. "get over it" doesn't help but in a naive way he's right.
@Jilleds1 ... it is not necessarily a fault but a 'call to action' that is necessary. There are other things in the world as you mention slave labour and oil is part of that as well as it is still currently a cheap resourse - if only R&D and how we live would move towards renewable resources - we have the technology and as a race we have the ingenuity to create a better world where there is more equal distribution of resources.
I'm glad you have the right and courage to express your opinion, though I don't agree with it. The spill itself, if handled properly, most people would overlook, hell they'd never even hear about it. The BOTCHED recovery, cleanup, cover-up, toxic dispersant overuse, foreign corporation making law, suppression of constitutional press rights, no Public Health data, new broad Tax "solution" and complete non-disclosure requirement of the cleanup hostages/volunteers...GET OVER THAT?

@ZeroC0mply ... absolutely it was botched! Were things done incorrectly - absolutely!
I would have to say that corporations dictating law is nothing new and trade agreements perhaps add to this ability - Codex as one example. As for public health data - we might also look at the current pharma and how that data is handled....this are indeed where we are at the moment.
Getting over it is the point - spend resources to find blame or put it where it counts - in all areas you mention
@TheSereneWay Unfortunately we'll never know what occurred. Even the cap they show on TV is at another well that was previously abandoned. The real story has never been told, but a certain way of life will be lost forever and the region may be unsuitable for habitation soon along with others.
Most people, my friend, don''t even acknowledge it's happening and are in denial.
I want peace for us all.
They are dividing, conquer coming soon...
If you thought you saw dependance before, just wait..
@Xproletariatx ... as we say in newfoundland - at least I'm good at something even if it is the stupidest.
The proliferation of consumer products that are marketed in such a fashion as to make us believe it is what we want is another dynamic of commercialism and corporate machination...the corporate greed is beholding to their shareholders and the continued idea of growth - an illusion of money and wealth that we have seen create catastrophic consequence.
Your a fucking tard....they created the dependence on oil. its douche bags like yourself that are to blame....god luck in the fema camps fucking sheep.....God you are the fucking most despicable human if seen respond to the oil spill. You think your right i bet you still think 9/11 was a bunch of muslims in a cave....huh?
Get bent old man your time is over you have consumed way to much flouride, and chemtrails, nad gmo foods.....look at you u look retarded..
@chezfontaine ...it may be that the dependence on oil is a chicken and egg situation...does the market drive production or does production drive the market. What may have started as easing our life has become something that is dangerous to it - especially in the case of oil consumption - oil is not a renewable resource and what is made becomes landfill for close to an eternity or in the toxic cesspool of garbage that is in the middle of our oceans in increasingly in the fish wish we consume.
@SoundWeave2012 ... hahhahaha...they did not pay me...I could wish they would however I doubt I would make a good spokesperson for the oil industry - they would probably have little appreciation of my perspective on corporate greed and the continued squandering of the earth's resources.
Damn straight !
