Thanks. I think retrohater just likes games with flashy HD graphics not 8x8 badly pixeled sprites :). Yeah I'm really bad at finishing games. I get an idea, hammer out the basics, create some basic graphics......and then get bored or sick of looking at my graphics. Then the cycle starts again. I have loads of little games/experiments/engines on my HDD. Thanks for the comment :)
Impressive engine and beautifull graphics, just add in level editor and start a community running with level sharing and stuff like that and You've got a real hit.
Only thing that I disliked was the font and Bit-controll screen as those were done with better resolution and somewhat killed the great pixelizd style. But that's just me, I'm allergic to mixing "retro" with modern effects like small particles, fluent shades etc.
Hey thanks for the comment. After recieving a few new comments about this I've opened up my trusty version of MS Paint and started work on some new but still 8x8 retro graphics that might become a new slightly sexier looking Bit Hero.
Looking pretty slick! I like poor Bit's head bouncing around on death. The lighting there toward the end, maybe don't use it for the whole game, just certain sections.
Thanks. I agree with the lighting thing. I was going to have a section with no lights, you guide Bit to the generator, turn it on and go back the way you came but the hazards have changed because there is electricity to them.
Lucids Spritefont plugin does all the work here. All I did was make the cursor follow along and that used the commands included in the plugin. It really is easy once you've played with the plugin for a while. I'll whip up and example for you.

I don't really get the meaning of the comment by 'retrohater'.
Anyways, I've been watching your progress MrFlibble1978 throu the Scirra forums, and it looks like you are doing some nice, short handed games.
But I've noticed that you don't like finishing the games you make :P
To bad, I think that a lot of the games you have made, really got some potential.

I feel for you.
Was doing the same thing, but with Game maker pro (never bought it, crack).
Made a game, was kinda happy about it, then got tired of looking at it, start making something new. Repeat.
So I've had a small brake from the mini-game making now, but i'm going to start again I suppose.
Going to try out 'Construct' to see if it really deserves the good comments that they receive, I actually felt that gm-pro was alright :)
At the office right now, so it will have to wait ^^
