i understand what your saying but saying get "saved again " is implying that if the person was saved in the first place that it is possible to lose that salvation which it isnt possible so if the person is truelly saved then the person cannot get saved again for Jesus died on the cross once for the worlds sin and if it was possible to lose salvation then Jesus in order for God to forgive that person again jesus would have to die on the cross again which He wouldnt do.

I'm blessed to have be a worship pastor. When I heard this news I was shocked, but then I was hurt.I hurt because it could have been me. We all sin. What if our sins were brought out to the forefront of our local churches for all to see? I would be ashamed of myself. I hurt because we are weak and sometimes we bring shame to the gospel. Allow me the liberty to explain the meaning of not casting pearls to swine. Pearls are precious and refers to the Word of God. Swine refers to people who are unreceptive or hostile to God's Word. Thus when we exhort people or witness to unbelievers, we need to balance love with discernment - discernment as to whether they will scorn the precious things of God or listen with an open mind so that we know when to share or not to share, and how to share.

Do you realize that Mike isn't the only Christian struggling with this sin. Out there are many other Christians struggling with the same or similar sin. Just because Mike was hiding a sin does not mean that everything he did was a charade. Suppose you're a family counselor and you go to work everyday counselling broken families with success but for some reason your own family is falling apart. That does not make your work a farce. You did your work telling all the right thing. Your problem is that you could not deal with your own problems and you need help yourself.
To be a minister you would have to fit the criteria laid out for us in the letters to timothy and titus. If you dont fit the criteria and you keep ministring then you sin. But I sensed such a wonderful presence of God and felt His anointing on the singing. I haven't heard a song sung like that before. It's my conviction that God gave this song to Mike in response to his struggle.

I afride mike walked in darkness for the last 2 years and even if he has come into the light now, like caleb000007 says he needs to be baptized as a new convert as a testomony that he has become a believer. He clearly fits the discription of a false teacher.
The weight of guilt which led to his confession is the conviction of the Holy Spirit. The fact that he confessed publicly is evidence of his being yielded to the Holy Spirit. We could surmise that he would have already confessed his sin to God and is forgiven as far as God is concerned. I believe so. To say the 2 yrs when he preached while struggling with living with that sin meant he was walking in darkness is being too simplistic.

Well I won't judge a person based on outward appearance or what I hear from people. Neither will I judge from superficial or insufficient information. To do that is to make an unrighteous judgment. I can draw an accurate conclusion only if I have the chance to talk to Mike G personally. Otherwise I'll give him the benefit of the doubt because what I can see is a man who is sorry for what he had one.
1. If you're that person who told him to come out then you have knowledge which gives you basis for some of the things you say. Beyond that, I can't say he wasn't saved. Only God knows. While we can tell a tree by its fruits, we don't always build as we should on the foundation Jesus has laid. Paul explained this when he said in 2Cor 5:10 that we (believers) would one day appear before the judgment seat of Christ and receive what is due to us for the deeds done in the body, whether good or bad.
2. In 1Cor 3:12-15 we are told that the works that we do will be revealed by fire for what it is and if they are burned, then we will suffer loss (of rewards) but we will be save, "but only as one escaping thru the flames." Remember the devil is always on the prowl seeking those he may devour (1Pet5:8). So it's impt to uphold our leaders in prayer cos when a leader falls, esp one who has great influence, it causes much hurt and divison in the church and that's the devil's aim.
3. The Bible tells us to forgive because we are not unaware of the schemes of the devil. It's natural for you to be very upset with him. But healing for the many who have been hurt begins with forgiveness for the one who gave the hurt. Forgiveness for Mike will give him the strength to overcome his addiction. Unforgiveness leads to bitterness. When the church forgives, God's love will flow and love never fails.

part of your problem is that you think that all sin is the same!! you have been taught that but it is not true. To purge the leaven is to get rid of sin, not the sinner. Otherwise the church will become empty. The church is made up of all sorts of sinners saved by the grace of God and all are still being sanctified (the proces of getting rid of the leaven in us) Those who are well have no need for physicians and those who are righteous have no need for a saviour. Jesus said He came to call on sinners. (Luke 9:31-32). I guess Jesus came knocking on the door of Mike's heart because He loves Mike.

Talking about good trees and good fruits, you know that a good tee will sometimes produce rotten fruits due to external factors like pest, drought or disease. But that does not make the tree inherently bad. What the good farmer does is to treat the tree, or water it so that it will produce good fruits again.
how about we give the devil some grace ay? for how wide how deep how great is the love of God. maybe some of the demons are repentent for who can measure the love of God. Mike is a false teacher the bible warns us of that commands us to be discerning about that and to expell them. Paul speaks this way about many people and if mike had been an example in the new testament he would have been rejected as a false teacher.
I think this scripture in cor 4vs5 is talking about judging his ministries teahing. for instance we dont judge many other donomnations (unless there cultic) like salvos, uniting and so forth even though we dont agree 100%. we leave all that for God to judge us. In any case your view cannot be right because in the very next chapter we are told to judge 5vs13.
If Mike has been caught lying and he refuses to repent, insisting he has done nothing wrong. Then you are right to judge him and to expel him from the church for the sake of the body of Christ. But this isn't the situation. Mike himself came forward to tell the truth. He could have simply declared himself healed of caner and ended the deception there withoug anyone ever knowing anything about it.
How do you know he wasnt pushed by someone that knew and was gonna come out with it if he didnt. You dont know the real reasons why mike came out with it. So you cant make that call. We go by what the word says and he was in darkness void of the truth. Even if he has made a decision he needs to be baptised into the faith. The fact is that Mike confessed. He wasn't found out. He confessed. That to me is enough to say that he is repentant. He did it at a time when the album is fast selling and the publicity on him will be great. God gave him "Healer" in response to his cry and grace to confess the truth so that his healing may begin. One thing I can say..., the Holy Spirit never lies... and when I listened to his song Healer I didn't feel anything, I didn't listen to the whole music on dvd and cd. I asked God apolagize if I was being boring or wrong about him... but I realized that I'm not.

@masylva The words of the song are still VERY true and powerful...he had to believe them otherwise he would not have confessed what he was doing. He could have just said Look! God healed me! But he trusted in the Lord, even amoungst his sin, and confessed them. Now according to the Bible, if be does not return to his evil ways, he will be in fact, forgiven. In reference to the song... Good comments made re Mike. A few other thoughts thoughs:
- a pastor (who is a shephard) needs to be deal with more severely than a church member because they are meant to be an example. ACC did the right thing in stripping him of being an ACC pastor.
- God is willing to forgive Mike if he repents. Repenting doesn't mean saying sorry, it means doing a 180 turn around.
We are sinners and need God's forgiveness too.
Let's forgive and pray for Mike, but don't forget God's justice...

I was Baptised as a Borne-Again at 21 when I was in a Crisis with the help of an LAPD officer. He explained to me that no matter what you do from now on...no matter how many times you let go or fall from Jesus's hand...he will always be there once again as if you never let him go. i understand what your saying but saying get "saved again " is implying that if the person was saved in the first place that it is possible to lose that salvation which it isnt possible so if the person is truelly saved then the person cannot get saved again for Jesus died on the cross once for the worlds sin and if it was possible to lose salvation then Jesus in order for God to forgive that person again jesus would have to die on the cross again which He wouldnt do.

If we look at what mike has done, we see he had a problem, do you have problems? I have problems. The bible says we need to renew ourselves in him DAILY. We ALL fall short of him... on a daily basis. Mike confessed! He can now be covered in the blood and be forgiving, so instead of being upset and hating him, lets be glad that we have one less soul going to hell, because sin is sin. That scripture has nothing to do with this situation... you look back at that entire chapter and it is refering to a person who claims they are a christian but lives in the world without change, Paul was writing this letter to the church because of people who claim to be christians but did not change their habbits, mike confessed his sins, and repented from them.. these people in the scripture did not...

It is one thing to confess but the thing he has done is repented... he turned from it and because he has turned from it he can now be forgiven. Paul murdered christians before he became one and look he is a disciple, all sin is the same. He was forgiven, Mike has repented so he too can experience that same Grace. we leave that to God, man we have no right to say whether or not he is a christian or not... Actions speak louder than words, I honestly believe that he was trying to please God at his most and others he ran the other way. We are not to say what he is, sure it is confusing that he was in leadership in a church and this still happened, but just because your in leadership doesn't mean you are inhuman, and like is said man... Sure I agree that there is no sin exept the rejection of God that can seperate you from God! But if someone is truly a believer he is a new creation and will deal with his sin. I have watched mike preach and heard his song and see nothing but a deciever and an unbeiever. That is differant to someone struggling with sin putting his faith in God! I'm blessed to have be a worship pastor. When I heard this news I was shocked, but then I was hurt.I hurt because it could have been me. We all sin. What if our sins were brought out to the forefront of our local churches for all to see? I would be ashamed of myself. I hurt because we are weak and sometimes we bring shame to the gospel. Allow me the liberty to explain the meaning of not casting pearls to swine. Pearls are precious and refers to the Word of God. Swine refers to people who are unreceptive or hostile to God's Word. Thus when we exhort people or witness to unbelievers, we need to balance love with discernment - discernment as to whether they will scorn the precious things of God or listen with an open mind so that we know when to share or not to share, and how to share.

Suppose you're a family counselor and you go to work everyday counselling broken families with success but for some reason your own family is falling apart. That does not make your work a farce. To be a minister you would have to fit the criteria laid out for us in the letters to timothy and titus. If you dont fit the criteria and you keep ministring then you sin. But I sensed such a wonderful presence of God and felt His anointing on the singing. I haven't heard a song sung like that before. It's my conviction that God gave this song to Mike in response to his struggle.

The song was a result of a web of lies spun by mike under the influence of a lying spirit. The catholics spread the name of Jesus by the sword so I dont think this line of thinking works. The weight of guilt which led to his confession is the conviction of the Holy Spirit. The fact that he confessed publicly is evidence of his being yielded to the Holy Spirit. We could surmise that he would have already confessed his sin to God and is forgiven as far as God is concerned. I believe so. To say the 2 yrs when he preached while struggling with living with that sin meant he was walking in darkness is being too simplistic.

I can draw an accurate conclusion only if I have the chance to talk to Mike G personally. 1. If you're that person who told him to come out then you have knowledge which gives you basis for some of the things you say. Beyond that, I can't say he wasn't saved. Only God knows. While we can tell a tree by its fruits, we don't always build as we should on the foundation Jesus has laid. Paul explained this when he said in 2Cor 5:10 that we (believers) would one day appear before the judgment seat of Christ and receive what is due to us for the deeds done in the body, whether good or bad.

In 1Cor 3:12-15 we are told that the works that we do will be revealed by fire for what it is and if they are burned, then we will suffer loss (of rewards) but we will be save, "but only as one escaping thru the flames." Remember the devil is always on the prowl seeking those he may devour (1Pet5:8). So it's impt to uphold our leaders in prayer cos when a leader falls, esp one who has great influence, it causes much hurt and divison in the church and that's the devil's aim.

But healing for the many who have been hurt begins with forgiveness for the one who gave the hurt. Forgiveness for Mike will give him the strength to overcome his addiction. Mike can be saved no doubt about that. The question is WAS he and IS he now saved.scripture tells us no. But God does call sinners to REPENTENCE!! We will not be perfect neither am I. But I think its a bit differant when mike lied to us and to God for two years singing an emotional song to everyone. Watch as he preachs, No Christian with the spirit of God would do that. 1. Man is essentially a spirit. You have a soul also which is made up of your intellect and emotions, and your body is the dwelling place of your spirit. When you are born again, your spirit is made brand new. But your soul (also referred to as the old man) is still pretty much the same and needs to be renewed by the word of God. That's why it's important to read the Bible. It's difficult to tell the soul and the spirit apart.

To purge the leaven is to get rid of sin, not the sinner. Otherwise the church will become empty. The church is made up of all sorts of sinners saved by the grace of God and all are still being sanctified (the proces of getting rid of the leaven in us) Those who are well have no need for physicians and those who are righteous have no need for a saviour. Jesus said He came to call on sinners. (Luke 9:31-32). I guess Jesus came knocking on the door of Mike's heart because He loves Mike.

If his preaching is in line with the Word of God, regardless of his own double life, he is not a false teacher. A false teacher is one who teaches doctrines that are contrary to the Word of God. God uses willing vessels, not perfect vessels. Samson was a Nazarite from birth, used by God to judge Israel; Yet his private life was a mess. He was a womanizer and revengeful as well.

I think this scripture in cor 4vs5 is talking about judging his ministries teahing. for instance we dont judge many other donomnations (unless there cultic) like salvos, uniting and so forth even though we dont agree 100%. we leave all that for God to judge us. In any case your view cannot be right because in the very next chapter we are told to judge 5vs13.

But this isn't the situation. Mike himself came forward to tell the truth. He could have simply declared himself healed of caner and ended the deception there withoug anyone ever knowing anything about it.

The fact is that Mike confessed. He wasn't found out. He confessed. That to me is enough to say that he is repentant. He did it at a time when the album is fast selling and the publicity on him will be great. God gave him "Healer" in response to his cry and grace to confess the truth so that his healing may begin. So let the healing begin, not only for Mike but also for the church and the many people who have been hurt. Healing for ourselves begins with forgivenss.

It is no wonder that when David was given three choices of punishment to choose from after he sinnned by counting his army, he chose to fall into the hand of the LORD. 2 Samuel 24:14 "I am in deep distress. Let us fall into the hands of the LORD, for his mercy is great; but do not let me fall into the hands of men."

Unfortunately we tend to be harsh with others and kinder on ourselves. It happened to David. When Nathan came to David with a story, David was incensed upon hearing it and pronounced very harsh judgment not realizing that that man was he himself. (2 Samuel 12:1-10)

Matt 25vs1-13 A story about 10 virgins. All were virgins preparing for marrage with God! Virgin represents being cleansed from sin! But the holy spirit only lead 5 of them and in the end the rest were left outside of the marrige. Not everyone who says to me lord lord shall enter heaven but only they that do the will of my father in heaven.

Why should Mike's salvation be doubted?
King David committed adultery and grievous murder. Yet no one ever doubted his salvation at that point in time. He remained 'a man after God's own heart'. He became the standard against which all the kings after him were measured. If today a pastor commits adultery and murder, what would our reaction be?

1Co 10:13 No temptation has taken you but what is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but with the temptation also will make a way to escape, so that you may be able to bear it. This passage is teaching us that as others have overcome sin so we also must. And the passage tells us to watch out that we dont end up like the Israelites that fell in the wilderness. the narrow road we must be on not the broad one. We have forgotten that Jesus said we must also pick up our cross and follow him. We must resist sin and if you dont you dont have the spirit of God in you. (sorry)
