Nice system. I have 1 15 cvr kicker in my truck with 900 watts pushing it. This summer im going to add another 15 and make a custom ported box for it and get a larger amp and second batt. I have had my voltage drop way to many times on hard hitting songs. down to like 10.4 sometimes at night but i have my neons going at the same time. Wish i had another 15 so i could start making the box now. But i gotta wait.once again good video looks and sounds nice

I also have a grand am that I put a nice system in. I have way more speakers and it looks cooler but I'm not really running any more power. I do have one question though? how did you get your box in there? I have two 15's in my trunk and it was a bitch getting them in.

@gmrworm The box was built so it could slide in and out of the trunk, It has 3 12" Subwoofers in a sealed box. I imagine you are trying to fit 2 ported 15" in the trunk so it'd prolly be harder because of thelarger diameter of the cone. Just take measurements. What kind of subs you running? I got 2 extra 15" lying around that i have no use for.

It's built in two parts so it easier to get into the trunk. :) Also, how did you attach your amp to the back of your seat? Did you just screw it in? I'm was thinking about doing that too.

why do you have a starting battery as your rear auxilary battery? that batt isnt meant to be used a deep cycle like the yellow top, it has completly different discharge and recharge rate which is why they are for starting..

Reason being is the discharge rate of the Yellow vs. the Red. The yellow is a deep cycle and the chemical reaction that creates electricity does not happen as fast in the yellow as it does with the red. The red top is also a cheaper battery which is the main reason i bought it.

A yellow top is deep cycle gel battery, and th red top is a standard gel battery. The yellow can be brought down to very low volts and remain fine,while a red top is made to only go down to 8 or so. Only reason i would need a yellow top is if i played the car with the stereo off for extended periods of time.

Yeah, this box was built so it could be slid in and out with ease. It's a sealed box with 3 12s. It was a tight squeeze, but we managed it. Just take some measurements and it's all possible.

I hate to point this out, BUT, you have NO WHERE NEAR 50,000 watts. Sorry it is a fact. I do believe that is what you said when you showed the amps. Meade is running 30,000 wats in CHicken's escalde. And before you try to argue it, do your math, do you know how many amps it takes to make 50,000 watts? It takes 3472 amps at 14.4 volts. You have not nearly enough electrical system to run anywhere near 50,000. Nice try though!

A second battery will just make things worse because it's another electrical component. The best thing to do is get a High Output Alternator with a good battery..0 gauge wires under the hood.

Depends on what JL subs you're talking about. JL mostly makes SQ woofers, so unless you're talking about W7's, the Type R's will be louder.

Honda5755 is wrong. A capacitor is not better than a battery. Once a capacitor has lost its charge its worthless. The only advantage of a cap is that it can charge and disapate its charge faster than a battery. If you dont have an alternater that can keep up with it wont matter what you have. I have 2 optima batteries 1 yellow top and one red top with a 200 amp alternater and it does a lot better than the 1 farad cap I had. The cap couldn't even compare to the batteries. Sorry Honda.

Ah, You got the 4 banger,I beleive you have to turbo those, not a lot of N/A power to be gain.

As far as the 400ftpndtrq Civic, most civics pushing 700hp only put out about 340pnds of torque at high rpm.

Example being

2002 Acura RSX 2750pnds 6spd 200hp7400rpms 142trq6000rpms 4.40 final drive ratio, 0-60 6.8secs 1/4 mile 15.2 seconds.

3.8 V6 Firebird Y82 3350pnds 5spd 200hp5200rpms 225trq4000rpms 3.42 Final drive ratio, 0-60 7.0sec 1/4 mile 15.2

With your box design, youd hit harder with just 2 subs.

I have an Impala but the V6 Grand Am isnt underpowered, its underated, runs 15.5 in the quarter stock, has a higher final drive ratio and the same potential as its Impala Cousin.

yeah maybe with 2 w6's haha. we called up jl audio once we made this box to get the specs that would best be fit for 3 of these sealed. it's a lot louder in person, that's why it's hard to rate systems on videos(esp. with junky camera's). i also have 1 2000 stock impala LS. i personally think it's engine is much better because it's a 3.8 L and it's one of GMs better motors.

The 3.4 Impalas are known to go over 400,000miles with basic maintance(TaxiCabs).

As far as Power, Theres little difference when put on the Dyno, Your talking 10hp giver or take.

The current most Naturally Aspirated HP for the 3.4 is around 290hp, the same with the 3.8 and thats given the 3.8 having more aftermarket.

When Turbos are brought in, the 3.8 has the aftermarket advantage but both engines will have to be internally prepped around 350hp Anyway.

Also, The Grand Am has the higher Final Drive Ratio advantage.

Stock 3.4 GrandAm Quarter mile time around 15.5. Same stock times for the 240hp SS Impala.

Point being, neither is the better engine, At some point, Customization will have to be brought in on both engines for Big Power, the 3.8 just receives more hype.

The 6.5 speakers look terrible, the whole install looks sloppy as hell. Instead of dumping the money for the system you should have bought a gt. I have a GAGT anniversary edition with 2 12'' L7's and a kicker zx850.2 amp for the subs and kicker zx350.4 amp for the interior speakers (polk mids and highs and yes, i have 6.5 in the doors too) and the amp rack/sub box is custom fiberglass and airbrushed. Ill post a video if you want to see a real system.
