  • think the UK should send her back but with a more uptempo R'n'B/Pop entry for a change of average and cheesy pop, get her to do a duet with an established male artist.

  • I was so sure that she was going to win that year with this and then that adorable Norwegian came out with that annoyingly catchy song. It's typical that as soon as the UK has a great song and a breath taking singer that we have to compete against one of the best songs in the history of the competetion! But I can't stay mad really, Aleksandr was such a little cutie with his violin!

  • i bet money that a wig

  • She is waisting her talent with the sugababes but she has success now.

  • she's in the sugababes now right?...

  • and that is live ....WOW

  • unbelievable!!!

  • eeh its okay but it would NEVER be the winner!!!

  • Comment removed

  • shes very good but i think she needs more diction and vocal variety ,but i love the music and the song, that song is a winning song in my opinion :) x

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz boring shite

  • @Guderian1939 So was your mum.

  • This is great song from great Great Britain.

  • на Жанну Фриске похожа, поет тяжеловато..

  • Just got done watching that horrible Michelle Gayle performance from 2008. This is SO much better.

  • One of the best song that England show to Europe ever! :)

    Gretings from Portugal

  • I just love this song :D

  • i LOVE IT! the best uk-performance in eurovision ever i think!!!! greets from germany

  • Best UK performance ever! >///<

  • This is what we call talent! Not some retard sing and dance like the others! Why do people just vote for the neighbor countries! Sux...

  • Its Fatboys girlfriend

  • she sang really good... but I think norway was really better ;)

  • She's Sugababe's new member now. Yup. She should've moved onto being a solo-artist instead of being in that group. Jade deserves so much more.

  • this is one of my favorite songs of all time!

  • Best UK have been for ages!

  • eurovision is all about politics and it is a corrupt competition. everybody knows now matter how good our song, we won't win. i would be happy to see us not take part next year.

  • I voted for her

  • This song is so conceited!

  • She was so far the best from the UK in years including 2011 with Blue! Shame she did not have a chance against Norway!

  • uk always sends ok songs and singers for eurovision , that's why they never win the competition.

  • @phavard881080 no one great wants to do it... why would they

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • To be fair, NO ONE had a chance against Norway that year. But I definately think that it could've kicked Azerbaijans ass this year.

  • Andrew Lloyd Webber is a genious. One of the best composers ever

  • Jade's got a great voice, but this song is just sooooo boring. Just like the winner song from 2011. And at some part very annoying with the constantly repeating of "it's my time, it's my time".... The song from Norway deserved to win there 2009!

  • im sure she is lovely but nobody with a nose like MJ will appeal

    it's a superficial world

  • Is she a Sugerbabe now ?

She was brave ...young and a newcomer she did well.

  • it dosnt ever matter how good our songs are we will never win cuz politics is to big a part in this, all the countries vote for the ones near there's

  • I got goosebumps. It's that good. Or it's just really cold tonight -_-U. Good Song and singer definitely worthy of 5th, which is a good position. I'm proud of you, as a British citizen, Jade.

  • I didn't see what was so good about it its so repetitive.

  • the song was nice, but since she was such a good dancer, maybe they needed something upbeat that involved dancing..maybe

  • she should have won, I think the eurovision is just political with voting and the uk . I Like Romania but my vote will go to Jedward because they are fun and also my neighbours x

  • The best bit is where she walks into the violinist! lol

  • I still listen to this song!

    oh my God!!!

    why she did not win?

  • great voice - most boring song. Sounds like an american anthem, with the gumption to have lyrics as though she won already. one could say..." no sweety...it WAS your time..now please get off the stage and let something interesting entertain us..."

  • Forgot how lovely this song was, beautiful

  • Actually the time is 19:08

  • Plus up until 1998 the Uk had only finished outside the top ten twice in 1978 we were 11th and in 1987 we were 13th and we have had an entry ever year except 1956 (the 1st contest) and 1958 (the 3rd one) a total of 52 times and the only other country who has appeared in more is Germany with 53 times, only year that they were missing was 1996 when they failed to qualify!!!

  • Since the Uk won in 1997 with Love Shine a Light we have only finished in the top ten 3 times in 1998 Imaani was 2nd with Where Are You?, in 2002 Jessica Garlick was 3rd with Come Back and this was 5th. However even though we haven't been that successful in recent times people tend to forget that behind Ireland with 7 wins, we are in joint 2nd with France and Luxembourg with 5 wins, plus we have been runner up more than any other country with 15, 2nd places...

  • fuck off bitch it's not your time, so fucking wannabe(big ego)

  • @neppersdoor hahahahaha...good one...you know her personally right? xD

  • I mean 2002 x]

  • This was probably our best entry since 2003 ;) Go Jade!

  • Personally, I prefer 'flying the flag'.

    ...lol just kidding

  • Shes Beautiful Too, And Her Voice Is Amazing, I Just Think These Years Now The Music Is Modern And Songs Like These Go Nowhere Unfortunately :( :/

  • She sang the song really well, but it was too 'British'. If we are ever going to win again, our song needs to be on a more universal theme. 'Love Shine A Light', our last winner, is a perfect example of this.

  • 2009 the UK made an effort. Well done! Blue will do well this year (hopefully!)

  • @ComoEstas15

    I know... hahahaahha :)

I think THAT YEAR... sorry I was wrong.

  • WHAT A VOICE!!! GREETINGS FROM SPAIN, UK!!

  • Blue are going to win for the UK

  • 3 words.

    should have won

  • NICE SONG

BUT NOT BEST THIS YEAR :/

  • * oksentaa *

    From Finland :D

    Iceland 2009 ♥♥

  • I think personally Ireland are affraid of winning the contest every Year as that country has more vocal and musical talent than any other country on this planet!

Go Gedd erm Deadwood :P Good Luck Ireland :)

    UK

  • Please leave off with the violinest lol

Jade is a great singer and has done a great justic for British musical industry!

Well its Blue V the Deadwoods for Ireland

    :P

  • Haha she gets hit in the face by the violinist ~ great song though

  • yeah, but she has no charisma at all.

  • Jade and now BLUE. Awesome. Jade has an amazing voice. I am hoping for BLUE to win this year. Their song is amazing.

  • @ciccogol92 No point in arguing yet you still post the comment. ^^. Anyway, that's fine, you can be all those before European, because you are. But the simple fact the you recognise that you are European is normal for most Europeans.. but the British actually think they aren't European. Most of them think they aren't even part of Europe.

Many Europeans? Where is this number?

United we are stronger. Look to China, many different ethnic groups joined as one - that is Chinese, stronger than ever.

  • One of my favorites! : )

  • Now shes in the Sugababes...

  • I love the song, but not winning ESC material, there are so many good songs, and the contest is soo long. Most people when they watch, just watch and critque all songs in any way they can, this song easily fell into the "boring, americanized." category, which is why it didn't win. Too padgeanty. honestly, no one had a chance against fairytale that year. That's all it takes, one amazing song to throw off the entire contest. Hope to see something less hollier than thou from UK. Blue might win it

  • lets just face it everyone ever since we invaded iraq we will never win this

  • she sang it perfectly!!!!

  • Last year, 2010 we were last because Andrew Lloyd Webber didn't write the song. He should this year so we get a better chance of winning like we did in 2009(:

  • no wonder we english keep losing

  • Greeks gave the 12 points to this amazing performance, and i am very proud and happy that i am Greek.

  • i love her hair.. and dress!

  • british people always disagreed on many things that was part of the European, could not take part in my opinion.

  • This video started out all right. Jade has a beautiful voice, but the song didn't play to her best talents. I don't CARE if Andrew Lloyd Weber wrote it. Get a new song and she'll sweep Eurovision away!

  • She reminds me to Whitney Houston and song ''One Moment''....Song is beautiful...

  • my favourite 2007.

  • ^_^ sHininG dress i want dat :D

  • i want her dress!

  • This is so good!

  • where did she came?

  • @505kira I believe she came 5th. The UK's highest ranking in years. I personally believed that she should have won with this song, I mean come on, it was beautifully written by a legendary song writer and composer and she sung it at a high standard.

  • @sunderlandgrl its all about the politics, babes, i really hoped this song would have won..

  • @iamdashizzz Yup, that's why the UK will never win again. Everyone hates us British and it's quite understandable haha :)

  • @sunderlandgrl Everybody hates France and Sarcozy now!!!:)))..not the British!

  • @iuliaana I actually like France. I don't blame the country for their president. I've been there a few times and it's a really beautiful place. But I'm glad someone doesn't hate the British :)

I hate David Cameron more than Nicolas Sarkozy, but I guess that's just because Cameron's and his party are ruining my country more than we already were.

  • @sunderlandgrl it didn't win because it's over the standards of eurovision. lol.

  • @sunderlandgrl

She was up against Alexander Rybak man

  • @sunderlandgrl it was good but thats not what eurovision is looking for, its mostly the lively jumpy rhythmy perforemences that do very well and win.

  • @sunderlandgrl i thought this was jade the music group when i first read the title.

  • @sunderlandgrl we came 5th due to having a song written by andrew lloyd webber

  • @robertj1991 I know, it's the only good song we've had in a while. He should write songs for the Eurovision more often but I'm sure he has better things to write music for than a contest which is quite political.

  • @sunderlandgrl ESC is politcal now anyway we either finish last or second from last

  • @robertj1991 Well, we did okay with Blue this year but I personally hated the song and the band. I don't like Lena, I thought last year Belgium should have won, not Germany.

  • my god this was like the best we've had since we won like god knows how many years ago. p.s that guy they had last year wtf was that all about it was like you really thought we were gonna win with a song that sounded like a cheesy tune for an airport programme.

  • as i've said before, leona

  • 1087 people must be german

  • Maybe next year we should do another Andrew Loydd Webber Song? XD

  • we can't put a good song on for eurovision

it has to be simple so that even those who know limited english will understand.

    simple, repetitive lyrics are key

  • Personally i think other countries should be forced to give the UK points if they use our language ^u^ just a way to benefit the UK and let it actually do well.

  • @59AJ59 The reason they use English is because 40-50% of Europeans have an understanding of it, not so that the British can understand them in a Eurovision contest that happens once a year lol. Also, English derived from old French and German (and Latin, Greek and even Irish). Should we give those countries some points as well?

The only natives to Britain are the Welsh and some Scots. :) The rest of you are effectively German.

  • @Skyifictionable I was only joking if you didn't notice.

  • @59AJ59 Oh yeah, sorry, I didn't hear the sarcastic tone of your voice, or the laughing afterwards to show the apparent joke. Why?

    ITS THE INTERNET.

    -_-

  • beautiful voice, boring song " It's my time, it's my time, it's my time" please stop we understood it, it's your time!

  • well ... in UK naturally they speak English! ...thats OK -_- but... the other contrys?!! ohh my!! ¬¬

i only hear English!! All europe speak English?!!! ¬¬

  • shes awesome !

  • Please, UK, send an incredible singer like her every year, and my vote will always be yours! You won't even have to hire Andrew Lloyd Webber for the song! Please, please!!!

  • @denalihedgehog She wasnt even a professional singer when she was at eurovision lol we havent sent a professional singer since 1997 but we are this year and the group is called Blue if you have heard of them?

  • @CallumJ230 Of course I have. 'Sorry seems to be the hardest word' topped every chart when I was a teenager))) But sending a well-known singer doesn't help to win Eurovision. Even Patricia Kaas failed, let alone DJ Bobo or Las Ketchup.

  • @denalihedgehog Yer i definately know that but i hadnt heard any of the artsts you said before eurovision, the commentator said about kaas being popular in France. All takes is a good song and someone decent to perform it :).

  • @CallumJ230 No offence, but you seem like living on some other planet. Patricia Kaas is vvvery popular outside France, especially in Eastern Europe (which rules ESC for the last 8 years). BTW, I watched that Eurovision on BBC & the commentator was actually ... hmmm... not very polite about some contestants.

And, obviously, having a good singer and a good song doesn't always help. For instance, in case of Israel 2008-2010 ((

  • @denalihedgehog Well i had never heard of any eurovision artists before. the commentator says things as more of a humour thing but you have to be fair, some artists that go on eurovision do look like prats. I thought israel wasnt that good, i think 2008 should have been Russia, 2009 maybe Norway or Iceland and 2010 my personnal favrouite was France.

Im not in anyway saying this band called Blue will win because they havent had a good song come out here in years.

  • @CallumJ230 pfff, chances are you haven't heard of a majority of european bands that get mentioned as 'very popular in such and such a country' is because England doesn't bring in any of their music.

I'm a big fan of foreign bands but i have to buy their music online because England just doesn't import it.

Personally i think they believe there isn't a market for it. but that's my opinion.

The only band I like and found a cd for that also featured in Eurovision is Apocolyptica.

  • @Queenmoreta European music doesnt sound that good, im being honest. Also i could say the same about other countries, i could mention loads of succesful british artists and europeans probably havent heard of them.

  • @CallumJ230 shut up stupid.

  • @micaeldourado Mature of you

  • @micaeldourado UAU, even more mature...

  • @CallumJ230 Britain is part of Europe also, and British people are European. The sooner you people realise that, the better. And the only difference between the music from the mainland and music in Britain is the language. :) In my opinion that shouldn't be a problem...

Look up "Perfekte Welle" by Juli. It's in German and is fantastic.

  • @Skyifictionable I dont class myself as european, not to be against europe. just think why should i be labeled the same as german, greek and spanish etc when im not that? Cheers, i will search the song :)

  • @CallumJ230 But YOU ARE European. YOU ARE the same as Germans, Greek and Spanish. They're all from Europe. Therefore, all European.

Infact, the English are "more" European than the Welsh or Scottish who are the only true Britons. English people are basically German with a hint of Scandinavian here and there.

Just look at the similarity in language for starters.

    Hallo = Hello

    to begin = beginnen

    to find = finden

    to come = kommen

to have = haben... etc etc.

  • @Skyifictionable the english are european, but not entirely german. There is a huge celtic and scandinavian genetic heritage as well. it is a myth that the scots are somehow more celtic than the english due to the massive norwegian migration there in the 7th and 8th centuries.

  • @MackerelCat Like I said, "English people are BASICALLY German". Yes, there's a hint of Celtic but only slight as the Saxons (Germans) killed or forced the native Britons Westward (Wales + Cornwall)

It is far from a myth, it's a fact.Look at culture, language and DNA. Scottish is more Celtic than the English will ever be. Scottish people are basically descendants of the Irish. Believe it or not, we (the Irish) did invade Britain; we gave the Scottish our language and culture which later evolved

  • @Skyifictionable European is just terminology, I have heritage from Ireland and Germany but despite my heritage im not that and never will be. I think european people in the "mainland" are too into this whole of europe joining together in the EU etc. Those example are similar but all european languages sound similar because they originated from latin.

  • @CallumJ230 European - people from Europe and that includes Britain. I'm from Ireland and I am delighted at the prospect.of the "United States of Europe". We would rival China and the USA if we all flew the same flag along with our state flags of course.

No, no, no. Not all European languages derived from Latin, English is a Germanic language, total different language group.

  • @Skyifictionable Its just a clash of opinions and mine is to be British and not european

  • @CallumJ230 No. It's a clash of Nationalism and facts. British is European. Deal with it.

  • @Skyifictionable Shut up, im not european. IM BRITISH TILL I DIE.

  • @CallumJ230 Yes, you are British. And also European.

  • @Skyifictionable Go suck a europeans tit

  • @CallumJ230 You're European.. are you offering?

  • @Skyifictionable I have nice british tits but not european :P

  • @CallumJ230 British = European.

  • @Skyifictionable European= Classification of people from a continent called Europe

Britain= A country on the European country.

I would say im British but not European, Just because some other white people live across the channel from me, doesnt make us the same.

  • @CallumJ230 You are European because you are from Europe. You are European because you are from the European Union, of which the demonym is European.

I know that you are not the same as the French, Germans (you kindof are), Italians, Spanish etc. You are British European; they are French European, German European etc.

The problem with the British is, you people think that you're better than the rest of Europeans, that you're too good to be European. Why? It's in your nature and I am not joking

  • @Skyifictionable I dont think im better than europeans, to be honest i dont even think about Europe unless its Eurovision or the Champions league. I just dont want to be classed the same as people i never even see , thats understandable isnt it? Also i dont want to be in the EU and i also beleive Europeans have a misled opinion on Britain.

  • @CallumJ230 Do you think of Scotland all the time then? Or just when they... - do they do anything that interests the English? Have you seen every fecking Scot?! English people have probably seen more Spaniards in their lives than Scottish! I was in Salou and the British (and Irish admittedly) influence there is incredible!

Why don't you want to be part of the EU?

They have a mislead opinion of Britain because you're all a bunch of Eurosceptics.

  • @Skyifictionable Well scottish, irish and welsh people live where i live. People go on holdiay in spain and retire there etc so its obvious they mingle whilst there.

I dont want to be in the EU because we cant control are own borders in Europe, laws can get passed by the EU even if british people dont want it and we pay a lot of tax money into the EU when British people dont see any benefits. Not eurosceptic, i would like to see a lot of places in europe.

  • @CallumJ230 I dont dislike europe, i just dont get why europe has to be united in a union. You dont see asia or africe making a union and acting like the best of friends. I meen the EU is pointless, all european governments can do the same things without the EU

  • @CallumJ230 Europe has to be united to stop conflict! If we're (in a sense) brothers/states in one country we will only argue, but never kill one another. Where is the downside to that?

And Africa has made a Union. :) It's called the African Union. There’s also a Union in the South East of Asia.

The EU is not pointless. The EU has reduced, travel, working time & polluction. Increased wages and 4 weeks paid holiday leave!! like OMG

Also Europeans are now United in Diversity!

  • @Skyifictionable You know i really cant be arsed anymore. This got boring a long time ago

  • @CallumJ230 You should just accept the FACTS.

  • @CallumJ230 Just because you've seen one or two Scottish people doesnt mean that you know The Scottish any better than the French/Spanish etc. Like I said, English people have probably seen more Spaniards in their lives than Scottish.

You can't control your own borders? Of course you can lol. You're one of the only countries that still asks EU citizens to have a passport to enter the country. While, e.g. Germans can go to e.g. France without having to produce any ID to cross the border.

  • @CallumJ230 First, name a law that got passed by Brussels that you didn’t like.

Haha, countries of the same size in the EU e.g. Germany, France pay just as much into it. Stop whining, and the UK does see the Benefits, especially up North were A LOT of projects for buildings, centres etc. were funded by the EU. So hush.

Eurosceptic = you are sceptical of the EU... lol.

  • @CallumJ230 Yeah very good point, It all depends on the higher ups distributing and publicity I guess.

And yes! I have also encounterd my fair share of European music I don't like just as there are British bands and music I don't like much. ;).

  • @denalihedgehog Besides, Eurovision is designed mostly to promote unknown artists.

  • The UK was my winner in the years 2002, 2005 and 2009 and no one of the entries was the winner. What a shame.

  • 1082 racists

  • I'm from Serbia and i like this song , whole Serbia love it ! :)

  • we nailed it that year, let simon cowell sort it this year and keep waterman well away!

  • I am from Norway I hide it most of the time but not now oh no! I miss Norway but will move back when I am older and I think this entry was great alongside Norway

  • beautiful song, but she looks like she has a nose surgery

  • What we have to learn from this is... we can't do pop songs, but we can do ballads! Let's try that next time!

  • 1,079 are fucking jealous of the Uk's natural talent

  • @theanglez86 It's a pretty bad content wise, all she says it's her time.

  • she is amazing...

  • very great song. congradulations from turkey.

  • She has a great voice, but the song? It's horrible, sorry, sounds like lyrics a 3rd grader came up in music class...

  • @jonmartinsc ill have to agreed with that i mean its just repeats the same paragrah >.<

  • i like this song, bravo UK, from Turkey

  • Such an amazing voice and a worthy winner!!

  • Well we did better then we usually do

  • i gotta say the u.k will never be gd at the eurovsion even this is bad.

they should have a song like maNga they should have bring me the horizon.

Bring me the horizon would win for the u.k

  • She's re
