  • Brilliant!!!!

But how many times did he say "ya know"..?? ya know...

  • In the recent Queen documentary "Days Of Our Lives" they said that "Another One Bites The Dust" was nr.1 on the charts for 31 weeks and was even played in a large part of the black community in America, people who wasnt even interested in music started to know who Queen were, and thats thanks to that man John Deacon.

  • @TheMrBeatle

I wouldent say so im irish you see and ummm i just laughed at his voice soo what biiig whoop?

  • when i first heard his voice i couldent stop laughing after 5 months ive stoped

  • One of the most melodic and gifted bass players still alive.

  • @walshfan2470 More than John Palantine?

  • great

  • Love you John, wish you had sung then and continued composing masterpieces like always

  • great interview.... john was underated...by most .....but not by me.....he was a fantastic musician...not just a bassist

  • 2:05 deacon's face... not happy :-D

  • Geddy Lee at 3:30 ?

  • I remember this interview. I always felt the interviewer was messing with Queen. He made some allusions to the isolationism of succsessful artists that stifled creativity and either Deacon didn't get it or he played it off. Maybe it's just me, but I think the interviewer was a tosser who thought he was being clever in baiting John and remember that back then the establishment was against them because they were, ironically so, establishment orientated.

  • Didn't hear that Mike Stone had passed, that's sad. It is funny, now, to hear John speak of graphic eq's. Essentually, the drums and bass are the foundation of any group, but they have to accentuate the guitar and vox.

  • Mike Stone had an amizing career RIP

  • How old was Mike Stone?

  • To old to marry you! :P

  • Did they get their own studio?

  • he sounds a bit like micheal palin as the emporer in life of brian

  • 'He wanks as highly as anyone in Wome!'

  • Must have been boring for john!

    what a long interview!

  • Great bass player... but Thank God he didn't do many interviews. ;-)

  • it's a Fender P-Bass..let's see pickups!

  • roger taylor shouldnt have cut his hair he looks better with it long

  • Lmao Freddie at 4:57, he's all comfortable lying down on everyone else :P <3

John is so underrated, he is probably the greatest bassist around. I love this interview thabks. <3

  • the greatest Bass Man of all time!

  • so it would be a Failure to underate that one! a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad Failure!:)

  • In the Picture 2:26 he looks like the evil opposite of Roger Taylor!

  • @floreeno LMAO! hahahhahaha xD I love Rog!

  • John's a funny one...sometimes when he gets interviewed he is so sweet and actually quite clever and witty and easily capable of putting his ideas forward in an eloquent manner. Other times it sounds like he's been programmed by Queen productions to come out with banality. He's criminally underrated as a musician mind.

  • he was always a quiet man John wasnt he! he never confrounted the band he didnt even sing solo! but bless him i love john!! hes brill

  • he wrote you and i too

  • lol 38 ratings.

    Conspiracy?

  • I mean 39, my bad.

  • '39

  • Sssshhh

  • John is a reserved, humble family man. His strong point is not interviewing or fronting a band or even vocals. But he is a brilliant and incredibly underrated bassist. His artistry on bass alone is completely under appreciated. His great song writing are ostensibly Queen. His compositions "You're My Best Friend", "Another One Bites the Dust", etc. are Queen staples. He was the financial and electronic wiz of the band.

John paid his dues touring, writing, recording, etc. for years.

  • he quit because he said it went on longer than he thought it would and when freddy died that was it he also laughed at the idea of robbie williams joining the band,

  • i laughed as well.

  • from 2 - 2:30 is a funny pic. Serious, yet flaming gay looking, except for Brian. I surely love Queen so on offense meant.

  • is he a hermi because he wants nothing to do with the band any more

can i get a reply on that soon

  • woow jhon has voice XD

    just kiddn

  • It strikes me that Deacon has no idea how Queen's music has turned out the way it has.

  • Thank you so much for this gem!

  • I looooooooooooooooooove him !!!!!!!!!

  • He said 62 times"you know" ....

  • lol

  • Oh my dear John

  • Dave: I went to bed last night kissing your feet. Now, I awaken, kissing your feet, again, for this extraordinary look into the mind of the Deacon.

  • John says the Q sound is "distinctive." I think that is an understatement. The Q sound is MAGIC because of the four lads' minds & abilities; their coming together was a Synchronic Event which has resulted in the most Beautiful Music ever produced, their Gifts to the world, to us.

  • ohhhhhh - brilliant John. Thanks Dave for this FOOD for my passion.

    Love VM

  • definitely cool, old John took a while to get going but he did manage to conjur up his 2 penneth there in the end :-)

  • Wow, never heard so much of John - great upload!
