I'm very happy that after many years in the business, he's getting the attention and credit that he deserves. He's truelly rare when it comes to serious talent along with a wonderful personality. May he have a blessed life and career ahead of him. :)
Btw, Tim Burton is directing 'Dark Shadows' and Steven Speilberg is directing 'Lincoln'. I think that right there shows that Jackie is really getting up rising up.
I have a feeling that he's somehow going to shine brightly in both of these movies like he does in basically all of his movies. I've yet to see his movies like 'All The Kings Men', 'Semi-Pro', and 'Little Children' where he plays Ronnie. He was nominated for an Oscar for that movie but didn't get it unfortunately. To hell with the Academy Awards. I have seen him as Freddy Krueger in the 'Nightmare' remake and he did a great job. He was creepy and pissed off as hell. Hoping he returns for at least 1 or 2 sequels.
Knowing Hollywood, he didn't get the acknowledgment or at least an honor. Oh well. At least there a lots of people that know how awesome of a job he did. Also, despite not meeting him yet, I hear that he's such a nice and humble person which showcases his fantastic acting. Ok yes, Jakie Earl Haley is a good actor but i do not agree with him playing Freddy Kruger in the Nightmare on Elm Street remake. Robert Englund is in my opinion the only person who should play Freddy. If you can't make a Nightmare on Elm Street movie with Robert Englund than you shouldn't be making a Nightmare on Elm Street movie.
Awesome actor and a wonderfully nice guy. I had a chance to meet him in San Diego at Comic-Con, although, ironically, I ran into him at Starbucks. He was just hanging in line with a ballcap, shades and a newspaper and I told him I loved him in Bad News Bears and he laughed his ass off. At that point he and I chatted about Watchmen and how excited he was for the movie. From MY perspective...just a hell of a nice guy. And a guy, now, that I will always root for. Thx Jackie. You're the best.

I love him!! he's so humble... he MADE this movie and he was breath taking, but he won't talk about himself he just praises everyone else. and I love that if he wants a part he doesn't sit around waiting for someone to offer it to him, he goes and gets it. He's one of the most genuine, talented, (not to mention GORGEOUS) actors I have ever seen. I'm completely smitten by him. :)

He was always Rorschach. Most of his roles, he played an undersized baddass, who could bring down a big guy, with just his meanness. I couldn't find much of that on YouTube, in fact I couldn't find much of his old stuff on YouTube at all, though I have a feeling that will change. The best one I could find was one of his first roles, in the Bad News Bears. He's not yet intirely Rorschach, but he is pointed in that direction. Jeez can there ever be a better Rorschach, Jackie totally submerged himself into the role, when I was watching the movie, the whole time I was watching the scenes with him I was shocked, blown away and when he wasn't in the scene I would be like "where's rorschach, when is he going to pop back in?!" lol
as many people said he is like the Heath Ledger's Joker, he literally stole the show, and you can't help but to root for him.
He wasn't sadistic in the least. He didn't enjoy causing pain, or got off on it, which is what Sadists do. He felt compelled to stop evil, and at any costs. Watch him just before he kills the kidnapper. He freaks out. He struggles not to do it, then can't hold back. A sadist would relish the violence. He does not.
There were very few moments in the movie that hit as strong as their counterparts in the book.
But that one scene when he became rorschach was BETTER then the one in the book. The dude had a mask on and I could feel his struggle, the tension, his transformation. He never killed them before, and at the moment everything changed
I just wish all the other scenes and actors did as good a job :(

thank goodness the cast wasn't made up of A-list actors. That would have taken a lot away. Although, I could Imagine the Adrian Veidt Charector being played by someone a bit older looking.

He's one of the most genuine, talented, (not to mention GORGEOUS) actors I have ever seen. I'm completely smitten by him. :)

He was always Rorschach. Most of his roles, he played an undersized baddass, who could bring down a big guy, with just his meanness. I couldn't find much of that on YouTube, in fact I couldn't find much of his old stuff on YouTube at all, though I have a feeling that will change. The best one I could find was one of his first roles, in the Bad News Bears. He's not yet intirely Rorschach, but he is pointed in that direction. Jeez can there ever be a better Rorschach, Jackie totally submerged himself into the role, when I was watching the movie, the whole time I was watching the scenes with him I was shocked, blown away and when he wasn't in the scene I would be like "where's rorschach, when is he going to pop back in?!" lol
as many people said he is like the Heath Ledger's Joker, he literally stole the show, and you can't help but to root for him.

He wasn't sadistic in the least. He didn't enjoy causing pain, or got off on it, which is what Sadists do. He felt compelled to stop evil, and at any costs. Watch him just before he kills the kidnapper. He freaks out. He struggles not to do it, then can't hold back. A sadist would relish the violence. He does not.

There were very few moments in the movie that hit as strong as their counterparts in the book.
But that one scene when he became rorschach was BETTER then the one in the book. The dude had a mask on and I could feel his struggle, the tension, his transformation. He never killed them before, and at the moment everything changed
I just wish all the other scenes and actors did as good a job :(

Somebody yelled at me on YT when I responded to their dismay of his character's voice not sounding like Alan Moore's voice, despite the fact that other than Moore's Britisch accent, they weren't too far off.

thank goodness the cast wasn't made up of A-list actors. That would have taken a lot away. Although, I could Imagine the Adrian Veidt Charector being played by someone a bit older looking.
And yes Jacjie Earl Haley desreves all the good things that are coming his way. See "Breaking Away" (1979) "Moocher".
