I was going east on I10 in my 2010 Vette "z51 sport package" last week, when one came beside me at the Texas/Louisiana line. That was the best 30 minutes I have had in my vette to date. I had to give the my Vette the pedal down to catch up to it when the S63 punched it at 90 mph. Never thought a full size sedan could give a Vette a run for it's money. Man was that fun running side by side with a S63 at aroung 105 mph ;-)

@mercedesE320fan : the handling is more a personal thing. BMW doesn't have a M version of the 7 series. They allready have a ridiculious X5/6 M. In this size (7 or S) you can't speak of a sportscar salon. The 5/E or 3/C are more cars you can make a sportscar then this executives sized cars.

I've driven AMG (former E) and M (3 + 5) and i like the M better. The steering is more com. and the car feels more alive. And the other hand, the differences are so little, there wil be no tears with an AMG.

You can also get it with a "M" package next yr (2011) and the tech in the car is pretty sick. However in the end it's just a personel taste.

for S63 amgs there is full manual mode or semi or automatic . at full manual mode the paddle shifter only respond when you shift up or down. Not many uses floor shifter these days including formula 1 cars . it is fun using the manual foot clutch with floor shifter , if thats what you meant.
