Like all your vids. Just wanted to know if you have heard anything of the russians are exploding nuks again? It seems that they are doing it in the Siberian regeign and the fall out is slowly moving in our direction by the upper jet streem. If this is so, then I would think someone needs to talk about fallout.
I've used the "Leap Frog" formation in an airsoft competition once, almost everyone didn't know what it was, so to those who don't know what "Leap Frogging" is that he's talking about, there's a scene in "Tears of the Sun" that actually show them "Leap Frogging" to get you a good idea on what it is.
Hey Southern Prepper, Could you put all your offensive and defensive videos like this in a play list? You wouldn't believe how hard it is, to obtain this type of training for a civilian.
By the way all Military Manual can be looked up online so find what you need to know an print out copys if you can that way youll always have it to go back to.Like anyskill You learn or pick up,if you dont use them you lose them so makeing copys of stuff for yourself or group will help down the road if you cant buy these Manual's
2 more books for those who would like tactical information,21-76 US Army Ranger Handbook & STP 21-1-SMCT this is the Army Soldiers Manual of Common Tasks. These Manual's are Skill Level base so STP 21 - 1 is skill leavel 1/for someone jus learning...Hope it helps
@southernprepper1 can you please make a video explaining why. i like your channel and i thought you would have made a video of it by now. I just dont understand how the average american is stupid enough to vote for corperate lobbyists, cheaters, and israel firsters. I am sad to say my fellow american has become stupid and doesent care about freedom. As 'stormcloudsgathering' says, "keep your mind rigid, your thoughts limited, and keep watching football".
@southernprepper1 I am in TX, gay, liberal, Atheist, and I am voting Ron Paul. We may not have a lot in common, but I think we can identify common sense when we see it. I voted Obama and have never been more disappointed. NDAA, come on. Ron Paul won't win, electronic voting will assure that, but I will "cast" my ballot anyway in 2012.
Southernprepper1, thanks for the valuable tactical information. I've been looking for information like this. Are their any Army manuals or other manuals availablle with tactical information like this? I was never in a ground combat force. Thanks in advance.
Mate, this vid gave me flashbacks. Where I come from it was called IMT. Infantry Minor Tactics, it's amazing how military service can help deal with difficult situations and problem solving.
Hello sp1 Thankyou for all the effort you put in for us.i hear you will be speaking at the conference March 3. We have nothing like this in Canada so i am thinking of flying in for this.
You allways talk about group tactics, however in most cases of shtf, an average prepper wouldn't manage to put together a survival group. To protect his family he would have to rely solely on his own combat skills, since he wouldnt want to put inexperienced and unreliable people on the line. Could you put some solo sharpshooter tips out? Perheaps explain how a trained group would respond to a sniper long range attack?
For those of us that live in the city if we have a retreat established and it comes time to bug out it is most likely that we will need to take a vehicle and travel roads to get to the planned location. What are your thoughts on how to travel as safely as possible from home in the city to a retreat possibly hundreds of miles away? Consider single vehicle versus convoy, types of vehicles, number of people per vehicle, road security, etc. Thanks.
I would be interested in a post on how to deal with road blocks or groups of people demanding tolls. I could imagine in a real WROL that some groups would try to block through fares. I know staying covered is the best answer but I am sure there would be some situations that a road would be the only option.
Great stuff Southernprepper1, great stuff. I've been going through your videos. You've put lots of good information together. Way above and beyond the call of duty!!!
Good job there Troop! Green 2 reports, pace counts on 90s, leapfrog, bounding overwatch etc. Lots to learn for the average prepper, cant just store shampoo and "make it". Guys this movement is taxing, mentally and physically. Now is the time to practice, dont have to be all decked out, just walk it and try not to be seen when crossing roadways with the family or do the leapfrog but not looking tactical. Also remember to tap the last man as you pass them so they know they are last and can move.
As always, concise info! Getting others that have had no military training onboard with handsignals especially hooking up with new groups of people can be a challenge hahaha. Like trying to teach someone how to move quietly through the woods.
If you come across a group of people tents and food on a camp fire try and get a volenter to take of his kit to look refuge like and get snipers to watch him/her and the hostiles and then he/she could walk slowly in to camp and ask for help they give help he/she gives a stcret signal like coughing into a fist and then tells the group about your group and do they whant to join forces? And if yes they turn towards your group and waves signaling its safe and then you are safer and stronger than be
This is some awesome information. I wish we lived closer so you could teach me some of this stuff one on one. But I am in the foothills of NC, so not close enough. :(
great video sir, could I request more videos on this subject (strategy/etc.) because i fear that we will all need your expertise in the days to come. thank you and have a wonderful day.
I'm in a highly populated city within a huge valley and I am on top of one side and mu brother is on the other side. I would not make it alive to his house unless I traveled alone fast at night and was using night or thermal to see oncoming threats. I would need armor and high capacity AK type weaponry. Good luck to me right.
@Southernprepper1 I have two questions: 1) Would crossing a bridge be treated the same as the last scenario, i.e. a large unavoidable DA, or are there different tactics for that? (I'd be interested in a vid on that, if it merits one). 2) I'd also be very interested in learning more hand signals, like you demonstrated in this video. Is there a source of info for those? Really good info, great vid. Thanks!
Good video !!! when moving across an open area to prevent a sniper shot you run in a zig zag movements so the sniper is going to work very hard to get you !!! just a little tip from the army !!
A very good presentation southernprepper1. Moving across open areas....A very scary proposition in dangerous times. My biggest fear in this scenario is snipers. A very dangerous and difficult to counter enemy.
Another way you could make this sink in for folks" would be to show how an ambush would be carried out on that same road position. BTW" I personally don't believe our troops are the ones you have to worry about. If the SHTF there will be bad folks out there exploiting others. Lets hope things don't get that bad though. Peace
Nice presentation" Standard Diamond "Forward Assault Formation" with Flanking Observation and Central Fire Control. With this simple configuration, you may also execute a bounding over-watch to quickly move forward to cover or rapidly seize control of an elevated position. One more thing" if you are forced to move down a highway, "Never - Ever" allow yourself to be trapped between two elevated positions. If your moving through a contested area. Stop, look, listen, think, plan, prepare, execute.
Your vids are always great food for thought and to catalog back into the brain... A great companion to this one would be a demonstration of basic military hand signals.
Love the white board! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Looking forward to more white board, maybe some patrol/squad stuff and proper spacing between members/field of fire.
Also would like to see some observation post/listening post stuff, how to construct and operate. Thanks again.
very awesome. Possibly answered in your other videos but I was just wondering how the non combatants would be handled in the leap frog method? would you break them up into two groups and have them leap frog with the combatant group they were assigned to or would it be better to keep them all together maybe assign them to one particular group so there was less confusion and chance of someone getting left behind?
this kind of stuff seems very common sense, after you point it out though. helping us learn to be in the right state of mind, being alert and aware etc....this is all such great stuff, you could/will be actually saving lives SP, thank you for your time .....
i know you have alot of requests for vids... probably when the time allows, should do a vid on slit trenches. their placement and concealment. e-tools ho!
nice vid,you are making alot of bugout videos lately why not a in depth view on weapon distribution, who leaves camp and with who and when(scheduled times), nighttime patrol, distraction ect.

if every able bodied male in america went through an osut basic training upon graduation of high school, every man in our country could perform squad movements, know the commo, the signals, etc... i believe it would make for LESS racism and MORE real brotherly love! it would be something every man could have in common... meanwhile, we guard opium/oil fields :(
@angelfoodcakeface Not American, but I think that's a good cheap way to increase your national security, since no nation dares to attack US because of the large number armed civilians,it would be even better if those people had mil training without obligation to go guard opium/oil fields and stay home,I would make it voluntary program though.
@angelfoodcakeface They do that in Russia, I think... that's why it would never happen unless the draft was in place. The public schools here are all state run (just like Russia), and the gvt wouldn't pay for that training unless they were able to get the return on investment. [cringe] The gvt wouldn't ever implement such a thing for us/for our own protection of ourselves. They don't even like the fact that we have a 2nd amendment, but We the People won't let them get rid of it!
very effective box/clover forward security with the linear crossing! our drill sgts made us do this 5 times one night bc we didn't understand the concept. you explained it in 2 mins on a board! HIGHSPEED brother!
it does help a lot man, it's commonsense tactics that even though we are of a protective mind that some of us just do not have as a skill. it also puts things a little more in perspective when you start trying to show us all these tactics. i know it might not seem like much man but it's truly a sign of the times and as always thank you for your effort here and your service. question: how would your tactics change for say mountains like say in southeast Tennessee?
@jsholt123 Iam thinking that your hilly and more mountains then me so spacing between elements and people would get closer so more control over people and if you where out west with open ground you would get more space between people because you can still control their actions and they can see what is going on. In a defense try to control the draws and spurs of the mountain where people can get up and down. The natural line of drifts would funnel people more in mountians than flat ground.
@jsholt123 I would take hilly anytime. Harder for tracked vehicles and easier to hid from rotary or fixed aircraft looking for you. Hilly aids itself to guerrilla warfare and staying alive if the crap hits the fan,
@southernprepper1 amen lol, and no lack of caves either. never thought about the guerrilla warfare but your right i mean they have been doing it like that in central and south america for one or two years lol makes sense to work with what ya got and whats around. also the abundance of free water doesn't hurt either
@EarthshipFreedom That would be very difficult with trained people I have never done that far of a river crossing personally. You might have to find a small boat or build a raft very difficult with elderly and children. Probably impossible without a boat.
Great, I like these white board sessions. Do you have any other tactics or advice/insights out of experience. Could you share some tips for small groups couple's or individuals in shtf situations, crossing danger zones in urban/agricultural regions, with small scattered woods.
Good vid , the auto adjust killed my eyes though haha. How do you go about organizing a neighborhood security group ?

Has anyone discussed using power lines as a means of long distance travel?
I was looking at google maps & said to myself, what the heck are those straight swaths going thru these semi-populated areas?
I was able to map ways around where no one would see me for miles.
The only downsides I can think of are like Dave says, its a danger area being open. If you were to come over a rise who knows what..
If there were a solar flare or worse, who knows who would be patroling or fixing..
trespass issue?

[cringe] The gvt wouldn't ever implement such a thing for us/for our own protection of ourselves. They don't even like the fact that we have a 2nd amendment, but We the People won't let them get rid of it!

@angelfoodcakeface I couldn't agree more, its seems only the veterans of this country are "awake"

it does help a lot man, it's commonsense tactics that even though we are of a protective mind that some of us just do not have as a skill. it also puts things a little more in perspective when you start trying to show us all these tactics. i know it might not seem like much man but it's truly a sign of the times and as always thank you for your effort here and your service. question: how would your tactics change for say mountains like say in southeast Tennessee?
jsholt123 1 month ago
@jsholt123 Iam thinking that your hilly and more mountains then me so spacing between elements and people would get closer so more control over people and if you where out west with open ground you would get more space between people because you can still control their actions and they can see what is going on. In a defense try to control the draws and spurs of the mountain where people can get up and down. The natural line of drifts would funnel people more in mountians than flat ground.

@southernprepper1 thanks and yeah you could say it's hilly it has it's advantages though.
jsholt123 1 month ago
@jsholt123 I would take hilly anytime. Harder for tracked vehicles and easier to hid from rotary or fixed aircraft looking for you. Hilly aids itself to guerrilla warfare and staying alive if the crap hits the fan,
southernprepper1 1 month ago
@southernprepper1 amen lol, and no lack of caves either. never thought about the guerrilla warfare but your right i mean they have been doing it like that in central and south america for one or two years lol makes sense to work with what ya got and whats around. also the abundance of free water doesn't hurt either

Great info. Any chance you could do a river cross with a group? The missouri river average width is 1/4 mile,it wouldnt be easy.
EarthshipFreedom 1 month ago
@EarthshipFreedom That would be very difficult with trained people I have never done that far of a river crossing personally. You might have to find a small boat or build a raft very difficult with elderly and children. Probably impossible without a boat.

excellent briefing Sarge - would you add to cross a road in a curve if possible so they don't have a long sight path to where you are?

Great, I like these white board sessions. Do you have any other tactics or advice/insights out of experience. Could you share some tips for small groups couple's or individuals in shtf situations, crossing danger zones in urban/agricultural regions, with small scattered woods.
Surthrival for the win.
