This song makes me feel like I'm running slow-mo on a gigantic field filled with with the most beautiful flowers, under a clear blue sky with the sun shining brightly and everything feels perfect; there's no pain, no unhappiness, nothing. For me this song is all about second chances. Sigur Ros have really tuned into the spectrum of human emotion. Quite literally playing the heartstrings. The first part concludes as though someone's either dying or dead. Then from 3:17 it relaunches with the intensity of the heavy thuds and steady rhythm of a heart restarted. It's as though the music is charting the progress of life and all of its ups and downs. But the heart does beat again and with it comes a second chance. A chance to live.
