  • he sounds like willie groundskeeper willie from the simpsons lol.

  • Well done on the contact on 4 watts. My friend spoke to an English ex pat in Malta using a Maycom EM27 (also 4 watts), and my old K40 antenna on his car from the Barnweil monument on a hill (approx 600ft asl), just behind Prestwick Airport. Proves you don't need mega-watts to make the contacts.

  • takes me back to the early eighties, with my high gain silver rod, tristar 747 sideband and york jcb 863,,before 27/81 i had a midland 150 m,as as a seventeen year old back in late 81,i would have killed someoneone for a sideband set with a high button, unfortunately legalisation pretty much killed the fun overnight

  • I have three Fidelity UK FM radios....nice rigs.I also worked a number of EU stations on UKFM in the summer months....Check out my Youtube channel........73's Dave

  • I got one of those rigs on Dec 81 and it sat under my midland 150m am rig...lol

  • nice radio

  • running 100 Watts, blody hell, amusing french

  • I have since managed to contact this station again from a better location on top of a hill. Unfortunately the frequency was quite busy again so I was battling with other stations calling at the same time! However, the skip this summer has been very good and I've had many good contacts on this ordinary UK40 radio.

  • Thanks for posting that. I was a CBer in Lockerbie for 20 years before moving to Australia. Your vid brought back a few memories.

  • What antenna where you using?

  • It's a full size Springer antenna made by Sharman Multicom, fitted to the car roof with a 7" mag mount.

  • ive also made contact with mr geoff today at 6pm,for about 20 minuites on a cobra 148.nice video... regards ian. in hull.

  • I tend to hear him when the skip is good but this was the first time I was ever able to get through, much to my surprise! I think normally there are so many other stations calling, some with more power.
