Can't get this track out of my head. Typical Deus Ex...and man my speakers are crap. There's so much more to this track. Once I get some subs I'm blaring this at night on the motorway with my foot on the padal. :D
I don't know, mass effect seems like futuristic sci-fi in a world that JUST passed the cyberpunk-phase, and splinter cell seems like it's just about to get to that cyberpunk-phase. Maybe it's just me.
The world of Deus Ex is what I imagine Blade Runner's was like before the Terminus war happened. The game is also heavily reminiscent of Neuromancer for anyone who has read that book.
@YOMUDAWUZHERE true, sam has ability but he still cant take down multiple opponents in hand to hand without doing that weird trip-smack-smack manuver or whatever its called and im not even sure he can do that before conviction
Someone's a tad confused. Most of those titles are either sci-fi or in the case of spinter cell, more a modern day type thing... not sure what your definition of cyberpunk is... maybe watch bladerunner and then you'll get an idea...
Does anyone know artists that compose similar music apart from soundtracks? I really love Deus Ex OST and I'd really really like to listen to other music like this!
i remember the original deus ex and watching my older brother play it. i was probably only about 6 years old but damn, looked so cool back then. the graphics are a bit outdated now but i should really play it through. so cool that we get to play the sequel over 10 years later and it stays true to the form of the original.
anyway, yeah i do love this style of fiction :D 1984 is also somewhat similar to this style except more dystopian than cyberpunk
@ProducShuns Yeah, I'm a big fan of these types of games. I didn't catch on in Deus Ex until this one, but I bought them all on Steam and have been thoroughly enjoying HR since the beginning.
1984 also proves how in the know Steve Jobs knew where people into computers were going to go. Now it's all networks, social media, video games and what not. Proud to be a Cyberpunk!
@Thabass Yes, and we have "neuromancer" by William Gibson as the start of this style. It's scarily accurate as to what's happening in the world at the moment as well. Augmented reality ftw!
@Thabass Equilibrium is more of a Dystopian world controlled of by man with conflict narrative of man vs man. A Cyber Punk is usually has conflict narrative of Man vs. Machine. Terminator, The Matrix, Deus Ex, Mass Effect, Blade Runner are best examples.
@Thabass Cyberpunk is awesome. Wrote a paper on a novel from William Gibson. Got a shitty grade however because my english teacher didn't know anything about it. He was a 60+ romantic era Shakespearean kinda man.
@Stan844 Well, gameplay in this game is almost exactly like its predecessor, which means that mass effect and metal gear solid are spin offs from DE2.
Im not sure about Metal gear solid though, first game in that series might have been created prior to DE.
@N3CR1S doesn't matter, because the first deus ex game came before any of the other shit, and it revolutionized RPG's. that being said, i love mass effect just as much T.T
