  • rushed? I think if it was less rushed everyone would be falling asleep. perhaps it's best not to look at the conductor - as is so often the case ;-)

    just my opinion FWIW.

  • i think this is all too rushed. i think the conductor is really limiting what the performers could be doing with the music lines and passages. this is piece needs to breathe and take into its hands it own being, and i think this idea is being stripped away by the limiting character of the conductor. that trumpet melody/solo in the beginning was way too fast and controlled. it needed to be stretched and manipulated a lot more than it was.

  • Wonderful opening beautiful spot on in tune . . . very nice . . . sweet . . .

  • I like this BIG sound coming from such a small group. 5 stars.

  • Nice performance, but this isn't just for trumpet. There is an English horn solo too. Both of you did a beautiful job.

  • agreed. This is a fantastic rendition, and all the more impressive with such a small ensemble. The strings are a bit staccato for my liking, but that english hornist is smooth as you like.

  • Great performance of this piece, especially with such a thin ensemble. Really nice balance of vibrato and dynamic from the trumpet man too. Cool! (Leanne, Belfast/London, trumpet)
