hey man, great vids. Just wanted to let you know the community colleges DO in fact fail students. The reason it may be easier is because the classes are smaller and folks don't fall behind. Hope this helps. Take care!
Ok.. I am currently enrolled in a community college (BMCC) I am utterly lost on how to make the transition from BMCC to Pharmacy School I was hoping to attend the University at Buffalo.. my question is should i get my bachelors from UB and then apply to their pharmacy or how does one get in to pharmacy school after they have obtained there bachelors degree? Your help would be very much appreciated... Thanks
I repeated classes when I first started college. Some classes were not college credits and a few were. Do they look at your history? The Pharmacy school I want to get into is Florida A&M and they require a 2.7 GPA. Right now I have a 2.3 and I need 18 more credits to complete my AA degree. I haven't taken any science pre req's. I have over 150 hours of volunteer hours in hospital pharmacy. Do you have any other suggestions that will help me look better from those repeat courses? Plz help me!
I would say, if you been out of school for a while or if you didn't do so well in high school then go to a community school If the opposite of this is you then go for the university. One shot and you don't have to worry about applying, tranferring, and making new friends. You will also be more conferable in an enviroment that you have been. I'm going to a community college, and I'm hoping to get into ETSU.
they do...im sorry esp if you are applying to a university which is highly ranked. I had a frnd who graduated from community college and had a way better GPA than I had, bt he didn't get in.
Plus i took classes at a community college over the summer, and my college didn't even accept credits for couple of them. And i was told to take all of them again. So, it definitely matters. Plus, community colleges are a joke, its so easy.
@iniloy1993 Yeah it would probably look better if you went to a 4 year college; however there are students in my class who just did community college only. Its just a matter of your letters of recommendation, pharmacy experience, and how well you do in the interview after that.
I guess it would just depend on the school and how they look at these things. Some schools might want only students from 4 year colleges.
@iniloy1993 Im a pharmacy student who went to a community college for the first two years..and then i transferred to a 4 year university.. I'm sorry pharmacy schools don't look down on you if you go to a community college.. Pharmacy school is not all about your GPA.. and i go to one of the top 10 pharmacy colleges in the country., i personally know a lot of students who just went to community colleges and got into pharmacy school.
i dont know what community college you are talking about...but mine is so freakin competitive and the science courses are very hard..
