  • A wonderful look at commercial beekeeping. I can't but help think that a great deal of this operation could still be autimated using some computer actuated hydrolics.

  • @bdrowe Most of it is automated, the ram which pushes the frames into the extractor is driven by air and at the start of the line the de-boxing is also automatic as of course is the uncapping. The only manual effort is loading the hive bodies into the machine at the start and then taking the empty ones away afterwards. The extraction cycle can also be programmed for speed and duration. The bee farm where this machins used process several hundred tonnes of honey a year.
