my first time playing i havent changed weappons and im doing pretty good ive beaten all bosses so far on the first time and they havent taken that long. its been a fun game so far
I always thought that earth dragon was the dopiest looking dragon of the bunch. Hard as fuck to beat for the first time, though. Snowfly was as enchanting as it was infuriating.
Best way I found to kill dragons the first time through the game is to get up under their heads so they can't use breath attacks, then just reflect damage back at them when they attack, using well-timed defense arts. It takes practice... but you ARE talking about slaying dragons. ;)
Given how often I've been asked this, I really should just add a note on all the videos explaining that after you beat the game and the credits roll, you can start at the beginning again and keep your stats. When I recorded this, I'd been through the whole game a few times already. The first time, it's considerably harder than when you've been drinking Elixirs and forging weapons for 200 hours.
Square Enix are masterminds for me and it is a shame that there isn`t Vagrant Story 2. But even on PSone the feeling that you are in Ivalice in unbelivable.
They spoke of a remake of Vagrant Story for the PSP, although I would like to see the world of Vagrant Story done over in current gen graphics and voice acting. Oh yes, the wonderful story would feel even more immersive:D.
Aaaaand with this scene the game just passed the Bechdel Test. Man how I love Yasumi Matsuno

playing a new game....
ive had luck using heavy shot+raging ache for my chain combo against dragon battles and most bosses(actually , i use this against all enemies)....
takes em out under 10 mins....
just be sure ur timings good at using defensive abilities.....
coz u gotta low hp (around 120-150 is good enough) to make good use of raging ache...

The atmosphere of this game blows me away. The music is so enchanting and foreboding.. with occasional moments of pure beauty.
What an amazing game. I'll have to beat it one of these days.

The reflect tactic is very useful for many bosses. This strategy is enought to beat about 70% of bosses :-)

Hah, yes - when I stepped into the Feywood in FFXII, I went "...This is just like the Snowfly Forest!" Different continent in Ivalice, though.
