  • Keep pressing 5 again and again...

    LOL dance hehe

  • I have a 3 monthold Greyhound

  • just catch your dogs paws and hold your dog there. Every dog will become uncomfortable in just a couple moments. when you feel your dog pull away say the command "Off" this is how you teach a dog good behavior.

  • Yeah.. sure, . your INTERACTING with the dog still.

  • i don't like this method. Looks like something I wouldn't want to do with my dog.

  • turning your back is the most fruitful way of stopping your dog from jumping. Rest dont work for my dog at least. Plus i carry a small stick along and just lifting up the stick tells him not to jump. May be it work for your dogs too.

  • I volunteer at a kennel...the dogs always jump on me and I use the side of my body along with my elbow to push or bounce them alway...am I doing the right thing?

well of course I do it gently..not send them across the cage lol

  • i thought that was a rat.

  • warning: some of the comments below are posted by people who punch, abuse, beat and strike animals....these humans don't deserve animals and should be kept as far away from an animal as possible....

  • how do you train a dog that eat only human foods to eat dog food?

  • So what if you dog only jumps on strangers who pet her for it? (And house guest who don't listen when you tell them not to.)

  • @BadPuppyMonster Rename them as House PESTS and tell them to GTFO? Family members are more important.

  • This may sound hard but I suggest Punching your dog in the face! I know, I know... but realistically,if you punch him in the face hard enough you can almost guarantee he won't jump again. Consider if you will... If I come to a friends house and he jumped on me, if I punched him in the face, chances are he would think twice about doing that again... I too am a dog lover!

  • This guy is still teaching stuff that was taught in the 50s. He knows nothing.

  • @keeg021985

Is this because he advocates physical contact with the dog?

  • @campguy Force-based & aversive methods are old hat, and all the science we know clearly indicates it is not only unnecessary, but that it actually can directly cause high reactivity and aggression in the dog. Cesar Milan is another one that is still using dominance theory and other force-based methods that are now obsolete. Watch Victoria Stilwell --- she has actual credentials and knows what she's doing.

  • this is not spam ! if this video didnt help you there is this video that help me stop my dog from jumping /watch?v=oFscKdfpQWA or just search Dog Training - Solve Your Dog's Jumping Problem

  • 70lb Catahoula... I tried this one for about a year. Didn't work. I'm still looking for a method that works.

  • @allteeth it didn't work on my dogs , so the Method i used was when the dog jumped on me i would say with a firm voice But not yelling say ( OFF!) ONLY ONCE! when he first jumps up, and i wait until he would get off of me on his own and i would not pet him and not even look at him once all 4 paws are on the ground i would say good boy, pet him and give him a treat if i had one on me,

try it .. but it will not work over night some dogs pick up faster then others

  • I am working with a puppy that is well trained and can sit, stay, shake and come to me on command, but he does jump up on people. I am using the "turn your back" method because he is so large.

  • i like your video because this worked and it worked fast thanks now how do i stop him from jumping on my 3 year and 4 year because even with them standing next to me he still tries to jump on them and when i let go of there hand he is on them knocking them on the ground how do i stop him from jumping on them help pls

  • ??!!!!?? WTF i can't beleve it realy worked tnx!

  • here is what you do i did this say off and turn your back they will lose intrest and find it no fun to jump, and dont get to exited or afraid beacuse it will sence it and make them even more anxious, THIS IS TIME CONSUIMING BUT WORKS

  • We have an 8 month old Boxer/American Bulldog. Like clockwork, every time my husband comes home from work our dog goes ballistic with excitement. My husband has tried ignoring him and walking "through" him, lifting his knee up, making him sit and nothing to get through to him. Boxers are known for using their paws and jumping (hence the breed name) so how do we stop a natural behavior that's mixed with excitement?

  • i tired this with my dog and she doesnt care if i knee her...she is a boxer/pitt bull ...very strong..dont know what do to

  • I saw on a different dog training video that you grab their paws and give gentle pressure. NOT hard. They're very sensitive to having their paws touched.

  • why you kick my dog ?

  • @louis12346 LMAOOO nice one hahaha

  • LOL " you just want to make him go off, not send him across the room"

  • i have been doin this to my dog for a while now but he still jumps on me he is a big dog

    plz help

  • lol at all the "dog experts" who are commenting instead of making videos on how to do it the "right" way.

  • I was actually thinking about getting a camera so I could..haha

  • This dosen't work. you have to walk into them standing very tall and saying OFF in a very stern commanding voice. Walking in a dog's space is a dominate reaction.-Trust me I work with a dog behavoralist. If the dog gets a negative reaction he will stop jumping. Using your knee will only work on some dogs.

  • but what do you do when the dog jumps on you and your child from behind while you are walking? HELP

  • It sounds like you have respect issues. Walking into the dog is a dominate gesture and helps with the jumping. walk your dog ON HEEL* to earn his/her respect. Respect is everything to a dog..either they trust you or they don't..and if they don't trust you your probably going to have problems. If your dog is hyperactive and won't stop jumping take him into the woods or some were you can let him run off leash. Off leash time is very important you can never exercise your dog enough by just walking.

  • *remember when you take your dog to run off leash you MUST walk with him..going on adventures with him is a great way to bond. Unless he is a hound he will stick right with you. some dogs tend to stray farther than others but they will always check up on you with a little time.

Good Ideas to earn respect- Making him sit before going out the door..(go out in front of him). Never leave food out..have him sit and make eye contact with the dish in front of him before he can eat.

  • Thanks so much for the advice. I will try what you said.

  • you first said this does not work, then u say only on some dogs, same with a lot of training methods so it does work.theres a good saying 5 handlers/trainers 5 different opinions.

  • I haven't seen it work but some people say it does so im guessing it must

  • This method will not solve the problem, you need to teach an incompatible behavior to avoid this problem. Many dogs will jump up on a person b/c it gives them self gratification. Any attention, (including negative attention) you give them at the moment they jump is good enough for most of them.

  • my dog only likes to jump when im wearing my woolen top..? lol funny dog

  • dogs are wonderful you can tell how happy they are

  • The guy knows what hes talking about. Its not like you hurt the dog, like he said, "knock it off balance." dogs are uncomfortable when something touches their belly and they dont expect it. if your dog does it again, knee it again. duh

  • This does not work. =)

  • it wont work kneeing them lol this aint thai boxing elbow knees lol

  • i do that, but my dog jumps again the next time again...

  • Thanks. I'll try it.
