Hopefully it is playable without those tiles as a tabletop. I love the miniatures and maybe the playability is hopefully great as well but the tiles give me the creeps.

many elements look similar to what is used in AT-43 (even the few rules bits that I got from the video are AT-like rules). It's just one more step toward the mass market board game sector than AT-43 was, which is good, as that will bring new people to miniature games! Also it looks like the board tiles are the ones/similar to the AT ones, so I will be able to fight on a REAL LARGE board :)

@omni69 Will be very interested to see what additional product expansions will be coming and whether FFG can deliver them within the quarter that they project...As to terrain, grab some from other games and sets. Also, I suspect that you could adopt this to a "tape measure" gaming system.
