  • Foreign aid reaps the benefits of debt payments which they make sure can never be paid off and keeping Africa in 3rd world continent status. This explicit ownership allows them to control their abundance of resources seeking for monopoly on force and debts.

  • The IMF and the World Bank have economically locked down Africa through destructive development policies, and unfair trade agreements. The reason is so that western multinational companies can suck up whatever African resources they want to, whenever they want to. That is Neocolonialism. Global elites are trying to have total control over the nations.

  • IMF and the World Bank who are creditors to those nations make participating governments agreed to all sort of regulations; one of those is usually debasement of the countrys currency which raises food prices and much of the starvation.

  • Yeah globalisation is such a double edged sword. I think efforts like this are trying to do good. However africa cannot possibly compete with western companies. I think they should manage the transition more carefully rather then as quickly as possible.

  • Well if the CNN's would not show it let us show it on our networks. Noone would market the good things for us if we do not do it ourselves.

  • I am so happy to see the progress, and to see Africa Rising.

I have to say that to any and all multi-nationals and african governments who are the reason[s} why the continent is not properly connected to the global broaband network YOUR DAYS ARE LIMITED!!!!!!

  • You know bluecafe, I couldn't agree with you more on that. This is one positive thing that I am glad they're showing for a change. The majority of the news they show are always about wars, disease and famine.CNN and most networks never show a balanced view about the continent.

  • Why isn't stuff like this about Africa broadcast on CNN and elsewhere? This is far more productive than Angelina Jolie and the celebrity campaign for cumulative African pity.
