As for ArmA: I love the game, and what it's done for squad work. But flying? and vehicles? I can put up with less than stellar models, but ... I know of no other game where I have such bad performance.
@frooglepete lol ,you wont believe it ,i just visited the thrustmaster site, but it gets worse ,in the back of my mind im thinking logitech g940 with foot rudder pedals ;-)
@bassax7045 You know, actually the G940 is a better combo for the Black Shark because of the way the trimmer works; just like in the real chopper, trimming the G940 will lock the stick in the position you trimmed at. Overall though I will always prefer the sheer steel heft and bulk of Thrustmaster's official replica controls :)
@DeepDisturb Yeah it's a weighty game. Arma 2 rocks by the way, but not so much in terms of the flight modelling. I think Steam has a sale going on for all Arma 2 stuff at the moment.
Ace Combat? WTF are you talking about? AC and Black Shark eren't even the same game genre! AC is a shooter with planes while Black Shark (DCS BS 1 or 2) is a hardcore realistic flight simulator. Search for "DCS Black Shark Rotors Demo" or "DCS Black shark startup" to see what I mean.
@Tome4kkkk Please read the whole comment thread before diving in. He said he wanted a "game", a shooter, with both jets and choppers. That would be AC. I am well aware of the difference between a study sim like BS2 and a game like AC thanks.
@DeepDisturb It is very fragile, well one part of it. Track IR consists of the IR emitter on the top of your monitor and either a reflective clip you attach to a ball cap, or a the "Track Clip Pro" which clips onto your headset and emits light back at the IR emitter/receiver. That's the fragile bit. You could just fly with the hat clip thing and not worry at all. But yeah, Track IR is an absolute must if you are serious about sims, particularly sims like DCS A-10 and Black Shark
