Anyone can get into a mental hospital nowadays. It's not really a big deal. All you have to do is say the right things, especially teens (meh).... and huzzah!
I've went to 4 mental hospitals in the past 2 years. It's really not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. But you are trapped, and there is no way out. I've never realized how much freedom I truly do have until you are locked up.
LOL everytime i talked about hating people (humans in general) and wishing the world would end for no apparent reason, hating everything, my mom would think i was crazy and she would be all "That's it i'm putting you in a mental hospital because your going crazy" and stuff like that -_-

Both the mental health hospitals I have been too for my illness yes thee for teenagers but there no way near like this. Yes there very simple but the beds and normal beds not hospital beds.

i was in physicatric clinic for six months it not a horrible place at all the grounds were lovely and inside the clinic it very clean and colourful I was in a teenage unit the nurses and dcotors were lovely its warm and loving The meidia make it out to be your in a straight jacket ur really not is sooo modern and clean ok well nobody wants to be there but its a place were you become stronger, get better and get on with your life i was in there for aniexty am 13 you got help eg music theropy

How did you do that? I had tissues in my pocket and they made me throw them away because they thought I was hiding something. They had security guards everywhere. Lucky you!
what ever you are going through don't end up in these places. Keep your mouth shut and dont talk to anybody about feeling suicidal. It only takes on injection of mental health medication to cause permanent damage. if those meds get into youre body you are a vegetable for the rest of your days basically.
@210482fm not really when i was in the mental hospital someone went super nut and was scratching the fuck out of them selves throwing them selves aganist the wall they told him to calm down and he went into a crazy fit and he went crazy! they all went on top of him held him down and said calm down he didn't needle came and boom gave him 50mg of benadyrl and 40mg of geodone about 10 minutes later hes knocked out

Interesting I have been to lot's of mental hospitals and never once have i been injected with anything. Some people who go crazy will get the needle but that's not "mental health" meds. It's a tranquilizer. And the only reason that is even done is because in a lot of states it's illegal to use physical restraints on a patient.
@210482fmj .....psych ERs are so overcrowded that by the time they got around to interviewing you as to ""why are you here""unless you were truly baffled or still overwhelmed they're not going to admit you and even THEN the units are overcrowded and you'd wind up still in the ER under observation and NOT getting injected witj anything UNLESS you are a threat to self or others.
YOUR state laws are posted right there on the WALLS and there are pay phones PLUS THE UNIT's mental hygiene lawyer etc

Wow, that's way more furniture than I've ever seen! I've been to 2 places, and both were less than that. 2 beds, 1 closet. It's pretty lucky you were able to get a camera in! I couldn't have more than one pillow or blanket, strings in my sweatshirts/sweatpants, or any potential weapons...pencils, for example. The only thing I had to entertain myself were books. I went stir-crazy a week in and tried to knock down a door. I...really hate it in these places.

I've been in a few psychiatric facilities/hospitals, but this looks more like a psych ward in a regular hospital. One HUGE difference: the beds. Psych hospitals use solid frames so you dont hurt yourself with the wholes in the frame (handles and such) or hang yourself with the cord of a regular hospital bed. Most of the other differences are subtle, like the lack of cameras and such. AND there's no way you would've gotten that camera back in a psych hospital until you were out the door!

I know how it feels believe me. Psychiatry is quackery. Locking people up and drugging them down is not going to solve the problem at the root. Then also these people put you on a lot of restrictions as well.

thank you for the footage i really wanted to see what a mental hospital looked like cause my mom threatens to call the cops on me and send away to a mental hospital and leave me on the streets i have depression due to being builled super sevrely and i have anixety sometimes about things. so are you still in there? yup... your room is YOUR space... but once you step outside your room, it's set up like a "mini-society." And how well you cooperate by the rules of the floor can HELP you to recover to "getting out." Of course, the REAL world is FULL of menaces. The whole world is a mental institution. Balance is key to a happy life.
Uhhhh, do they have cameras in the bathroom? If so then mental hospitals are full of fucking staplers. (shhh don't tell this to mental institutions: I broke a soap holder like the one in the bathroom and accidentally cut myself it hurt but it's still sharp escape plan made XD) btw do they lock the doors at night?
This is awesome !! i commend you my friend ! , i am always worried about getting sectioned/committed to a mental ward or hospital , so yeah this for me was very interesting to view as i have always wondered what it is like inside one of these places.
There were cameras in our rooms recording 24/7 and the technicians would check on us and write what were were doing every fifteen minutes. You would be restrained and given a shot if acted out violently in any form. I'm 16 years old and female.
My mental hospital didn't even have that fancy desk and chair. In fact, that desk chair would be considered hazardous. Our beds were nailed to the ground, not like these and you would have to be stripped down before even being allowed inside your room. NO METALS ALLOWED, no strings, laces, straws, etc. Our toilets weren't normal toilets. Our windows were tinted- meaning we couldn't look outside. The only time we got to go outside was when we went to the pool.
@TheThatgirl3 Right and don't forget no mirrors not even on the wall where the one I went to. I didn't give a fuck though I was away from my crazy ass life and finally had some inner peace. Despite not being able to have crap and being in prison.

I know how it feels believe me. Psychiatry is quackery. Locking people up and drugging them down is not going to solve the problem at the root. Then also these people put you on a lot of restrictions as well.

thank you for the footage i really wanted to see what a mental hospital looked like cause my mom threatens to call the cops on me and send away to a mental hospital and leave me on the streets i have depression due to being builled super sevrely and i have anixety sometimes about things. so are you still in there? And are you allowed to have a computer in there? and i might have future question i just can't think right now.

yup... your room is YOUR space... but once you step outside your room, it's set up like a "mini-society." And how well you cooperate by the rules of the floor can HELP you to recover to "getting out." Of course, the REAL world is FULL of menaces. The whole world is a mental institution. Balance is key to a happy life.

(shhh don't tell this to mental institutions: I broke a soap holder like the one in the bathroom and accidentally cut myself it hurt but it's still sharp escape plan made XD) btw do they lock the doors at night?

There were cameras in our rooms recording 24/7 and the technicians would check on us and write what were were doing every fifteen minutes. You would be restrained and given a shot if acted out violently in any form. I'm 16 years old and female.

My mental hospital didn't even have that fancy desk and chair. In fact, that desk chair would be considered hazardous. Our beds were nailed to the ground, not like these and you would have to be stripped down before even being allowed inside your room. NO METALS ALLOWED, no strings, laces, straws, etc. Our toilets weren't normal toilets. Our windows were tinted- meaning we couldn't look outside. The only time we got to go outside was when we went to the pool.
