Hi, I was put on risperdal at 92lbs. and got up to 170lbs. in just under 5 months of being on it. After buying a treadmill and setting a routine of walking 3 hours per week(mon,wed,fri), I went down to 120lbs. after 5 years. The first 30 lbs. went off quick but the rest was hardest part. In 2007, an antidepressant was added to the mixture and I gained 20lbs. back partly because I considerably reduced my exercise. It's hard work a lot of the time, but it's the only thing that's worked for me.

@rkaren1 YOu are too funny. I am actually starting to lose the weight. It has been affecting my health - my blood sugar started becoming really elevated. So I had to lose the weight. It's not coming off quickly, though!

@couturexlove1 Nope, I am a vegan, and a very savvy one at that. You absolutely can gain THAT much weight THAT quickly on Risperdal. It gives a very high risk of diabetes as well! Yes, you can gain THAT much weight. Consider yourself lucky if you haven't. Also if you are a youngster, you most likely will tolerate the medication better than older people. So consider yourself lucky if you have been on it and haven't gained as much weight as other folks like me. And do some research!

I gained a lot of weight from my medication, too. I went from a size 7 to a size 18 then down to a 12 with a lot of hard work. I know that it's very difficult but YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. Never forget that, girl!

Yeah I had to take medication and went from a size 6 to a 16 too. It really stinks. I am off the medication now, but the weight wont come off. I wish you all the best and hope you are able to achieve your weight loss goals. Its not easy.
