he was on Gaia,when she was climbing on Olympus....Then Zeus shot her with lightning,almost severing her hand. She almost fell down,but managed to catch with the other hand. But Kratos wasnt so lucky and he could not hold and was falling down...Gaia refused to help him with the words,that he was just a pawn and that wasnt his war...and so he fell...and wake up in the underworld..so died again most likely :)
