@XLValenciaXL They've been racing like that since around 1960, figure eight at that track. Nobody has ever been killed in any form of racing there, it's a quarter mile and the speeds aren't quite deadly......so far. The cars have full roll cages and door bars, they're pretty stout. They also have racing seats which hug you, and a full harness. I've had broken ribs and a concusion twice and gave it the hell up. It takes unreal skill to race the 8, and it's so exciting to watch....from afar.

YES the Sportsdrome makes you have a safe car(steel plates,roll bars,etc.),I've taken a couple hits in the X there and was un-injured due to safety.Watsonville did have a cool figure-8(bought a video from a guy several years ago)but figure-8 on asphalt is where it's at boys.If I ever figure out how to get videos posted on here I'll blow your mind with some of the figure-8 stuff from the sportsdrome,the clip here is just a small sample of mine and my friends collection

As far as best figure 8 tracks in the country, Watsonville should be at the top or at least once was until they decided to discontinue the event.(Rumor is they might bring it back?!) The track was larger then 'most' of these chincy tracks you see on the internet. What made it fun was the fact that you were sliding sideways going into the turns.Not this pavement racing where its just like a drag race down the straight aways, dont get me wrong it still takes balls but i don't see it being 'as' fun

Asphalt means harder impacts. I really wish more video games would have this and chicken racing. Chicken racing is where half the field runs it in reverse. Not done much offline as head ons collisions are dramatic and the style encourages it. 20+20 = 40, 50+50 = a serious 100 MPH Crash. Unnerving as hell in a video game though to have to swerve.

Who in their right mind rally races? Quite a few of the stages take place on mountains or roads overlooking a steep cliff. It's balls and the rush. Its a drug. Cops know the rush when they bust someone, racers know the rush and danger. That natural high is one of the most addictive things and you get a story on top of it.

I don't want you guys to think I am some little girl that nows nothing about racing, but at the Indianapolis Speedrome we get a lot of hard hits once you get past the roadrunners and the hornets our racing is serious. i hear ya, my dad has been racing figure eight since probably before i was born, i remember when i was like 5 or 6 he crashed in the intersection at louisville speedway and his car exploded. the firemen thought he was out, if my mom hadnt screamed at them they wouldnt have realized and my dad wouldve probably died, he didnt get hurt it just knocked him out. he is getting too old for it and is racing oval this year
