I had one of those cuckoo clocks when I was younger, for some reason when the guy came out of the left door, the weight underneath would stop and the clock would continue running with the left door open and the melody not fully played. Something later went wrong with the mechanism in it and it totally stopped working.
Thanks Again! The carvings came off a clock I had since I was thirteen. The original clock was a loss as it fell off the wall in our February 28, 2001 Nisqually earthquake. Although the clock was smashed to bits, the carvings remained unscathed, and so I kept them). A couple years later, I found a complete new case and mechanism (which even plays the same songs) on Klockit's website. Frankly, I like the clock better now.

it all depends on you to wind ( adjust the weights ) of the 3 functions- 1 for the clock 1 for the cuckoo & 1 for the music box.
