  • Hi, I'm an aspiring naval aviator who wants to fly the F/A-18F. I am a Junior in high school planning on going to a 4 year college with an ROTC program and I will be enrolled in that. Do I need to pass certain test(s) before I can be accepted for API? And then what do I do after API? Do I go to Pensacola, FL to start ground school and flight training?

  • whats with the helicopters trying to be submarines

  • I CANT WAIT!!!

  • Is there going to be a lot a written work

  • I can't wait to get to this school!

  • Sweet, I appreciate that you have the Coast Guard in mentioned in this API video unlike some others. Cool video!

  • i did a very simulated watered down version of this for civilians called aviation challenge. there aren't any overview videos of AC that i can find so when I want to show people I look for API videos and comment the whole time on which parts we did and how each was modified so this was helpful thanks for posting it.

  • third year in the academy, and still they tell me i cant do this. i wish it were easier to get to Pensacola

  • What are the "tubes" with numbers on them used for?

  • seems like a blast.

  • cant wait till im there

  • do i have to go here to become a jay hawk pilot?

  • in the navy, marines or air force of the united states of america you do. so id imagine yes.

  • Do USMC Helo crew chiefs go thru this school?

  • Probably too late. There is an age cutoff for SNA's. I beleive its 29 at the time of commissioning.

  • awesome vid..hope ill be doing that in a few years...whats the name of the song?

  • thanx dude...

  • Yes, all military pilots (with the exception of the Army) go through this exact program. However, the six week API program is only the very beginning of the 1.5+ year training syllabus that you must get through to become a winged aviator.

  • @klobpries what does the army put their people through. thats what im looking at doing for helicopters. does the army send their people through water training?

  • I was thinking of becoming a helicopter pilot in the USCG. Will this be the stuff I'll be doing if thats the route I take?

  • To answer the question from a earlier post, I selected helos and will be starting advanced in Whiting on July 8th.

  • what platform are you on???

  • Hey I have a few questions, since I am interested in becoming a USMC pilot and interested in attending OCS.

First of all, would they disquallify me from flying if I used to have mild pollen allergies?

Also, how much does the Corps look into one's grades at the civillian university attended?

    Thanks

  • I can answer that last question for you. The Marine Corps doesn't weigh your college GPA too heavily. However, you need to stay above a 2.0 to be eligible for applying to OCS; and it wouldn't be advisable to even let it get that low since getting below a 2.5 would put you on the fence and make your application process and the OSO's job a little tougher.

  • CSAR goes through similar training right>?

  • Yeah, that's the route that I took. Get good grades and try to PT everyday.

  • So, you're hoping to get C-130's sir?

  • hey great video, i'm about to apply to the plc with an air contract. any advice? is that a good route to take?

  • I'm still in primary at NAS Corpus. I've been med down from a kiteboarding accident.

  • Just wondering what airframe you went to?

  • Hey Redneck Parasailing! Nice video guys! I like the guy on the spinning chair in the class room -.~
