TransEar is presently (March 2011) available in the U.S., U.K., and Colombia. Due to some complicated regulatory procedures, as well as long-distance support & service considerations, introduction of TransEar in most countries outside of the U.S. will likely not occur for a substantial period of time. More product information is available at transear.com . . . Sorry to disappoint you. We will post info on international distribution as it becomes available.
I have lived with profound unilateral hearing loss my whole life. I'm 19. I have learned to deal with it, though it has many challenges. It affects me more in a social way more than anything else.
@BusterBunker I know exactly what you mean. I am 38 and every single day it effects me in some sort of way; whether through not hearing someone who thinks I am just being ignorant, or not having a clue which direction a sound is coming from. I often wonder what music sounds like in stereo but I will never know. Still, there are far worse things.
I have lived all of my 37 years with SSD and it effects my life every single day. I was advised against a BAHA by an audiologist due to the surgery involved. The TransEar device looks incredible. Is it available in the UK? I would give anything to own one.
