the shrine is for Michel Koiter, died in 2004 at the age of 19, the orc is his exact character from world of warcraft beta down to the very last detail, the designers felt the need to put this in-game in memory of him

used to be. At some point the appearance of this shrine was changed. Before you only saw the orc with the aura. Then if you died and went back to the shrine you could see the angel/ghost of koiter. Now both are visible all the time no matter what.

incorrect, there is zero evidence to support any quests involve this shrine. Quests in the barrens will take users NEAR it such as killing plain striders or zhevras.

i had a 70 warrior / lock... you have to go to it for the whirlwind axe *warrior quest* at lvl 29, 30, 31, etc...
