I'm going to be honest. I don't like the way Bioshock plays. It feels kind of clunky at points. But it's just about perfect in every other regard so it can be forgiven.
I'm Andrew Ryan, and i'm here to ask you a question. Is it too much to ask for good music? No says Justin Beiber, it belongs to the famous! No says Rebecca Black, it belongs to the rich! I give to you now, one of the classics, I give you...Bobby Darin!
I can't help but think if Bobby Darin knew his music was re-popularised by a game which depicts an underwater hell hole filled with mutants, psychotic little girls and monsters in diving suits he'd be mortified.
@galenwolf Nonscense! Rapture is a re-invisionment of what Bobby Darin sang about! Somewhere beyone the sea! Somewhere we'll be, beyond the sea, and never again go sailing! Don't you see? It's like a secret puzzle hidden beyond the lyrics! Beyond the Sea!
@TheGostofSparta Well what does that mean for Jack Lawrence? The lyrical genius who is in the Songwriters Hall of Fame and has many awards and wrote #1 hit after #1 hit as if he were a machine programmed for this. If I Didn't Care by the Ink Spots, Yes My Darling Daughter, All or Nothing at All by Frank Sinatra, Tenderly by Rosemary Clooney, The Poor People of Paris, Hold My Hand by Don Cornell, Sleepy Lagoon by the Platters, etc.
@Dkahe4real The Government doesnt even know about it.
It was this big antichristian city built underwater by people everywhere, not just in America. Even if American government doesnt want anyone to know about it, they'd have to get the support of all the other nations governments.
Two the people who are fighting over Bioshock 1 and 2 who cares they were both great games for there own reasons. So stop the fighting you can fight more when Bioshock infinite comes out =)
@biosector07 I disagree with your opinion, bioshock 2 just didnt feel that special as bioshock 1 and the characters were way less interesting. Also was rapture a really unique and surprising world in the first game, in the second part you were just like seen that done that. In my opinion part 2 was a bit of a let down.
To be honest I like both games, but Bioshock 1 has the better story. That dosent mean Bioshock 2 has a bad one, it just is not as immersive as the first.
@HelghastCinema I am enjoying Bioshock 2 just as much as the first. The story is great, but not as good as Bioshock 1. But Bioshock 2 makes up for it in better gameplay and great underwater sequences. I also love a lot of the nods to the original that are scattered throughout the game.
"And then father, the Rapture dream was over. You taught me that 'evil' is just a word. Under the skin, it's simple pain. For you, mercy was victory. You sacrificed, you endured, and when given the chance, you forgave. Always. Mother believed this world was irredeemable, but she was wrong, Father. We are Utopia, you and I, and in forgiving, we left the door open for her".
Finally! I've been searching for this song everywhere! Man Bioshock is one of my favourite games of all time. This song reminds me of Rapture's atmosphere throughout the whole game. Thanks for the upload!
i love the 1, but personally, i like more the 2, the news cute little sisters, the new weapons, and the new hack system, and, i don't want to sound pussy, but the final good GOOD, just make me cry
i like 1 better but 2 has some good things being better hack system and the little sisters are so cute the plasmids some look better but the fire plasmid is always better in the first the first one has a better story and a twist all lamb did was bitch and bitch and bitch and you didnt even get to kill her i wouldve loved to take the drill to her face atleast when atlas turns on you , you got to kill him in the end
@protoborg Bioshock 2 has a great story it's a very deep and intense game with a story like no other. I won't lie the middle of the game is a little slow but the rest is absolutely flawless
It wasn't. I'm a major fan of the BioShock series, (I played it back when it was System Shock) and while the second games lacks the imaginative storyline that the first was so interestingly packed full of, its gameplay mechanics are far more enjoyable than the first. Personally, I think the second is more fun to play, but the first enwraps the player in the intense drama of Rapture's civil war.
@monkeyman2547 True. But that split second of switching hands was a split second that I could have used to defend myself from a splicer. Dual weilding seemed more fluid, is all.
@dbzandroid13 According to the developers, Infinite's more of a spinoff title, an experiment apart from the main series. They're just kind of goofing around.
I'm actually looking forward to an actual demo: the gameplay trailer piqued my interest.

i got an idea for bs 4 a navy seal chopper crashes above rapture and u find rapture 2 months after bs2 the splicer got m16 and ak47 and other 1960s weapons from gun dealers who found rapture
They should make it so you could listen to this while playing bioshock like on the radio...... sort of like in fallout with your pipboy were you can tune into music
The idea that Bioshock 2 should have been a prequel of being rapture in its glory and during its downfall was so obvious I still find it hard to believe its after Bioshock 1.
This was a very good game I liked the story but I mainly liked the game play, the story is important but it should not be the whole game, I like how 2k did it, and any one who wants more back story or cutscenes can jump off a building
The second game lacked a back story. The first game was perfect, but in bioshock 2 the storyline was rushed because 2k games scraped the first idea for bioshock 2 half way through development and restarted from crappy scratch .
One of my favorite things about bioshock, and it definitly shows in this trailer is despite Rapture being this place of horror and death the ( happy music) gives the game a messed up kind of humor
lol my girlfriend loves when i sing this because the girl that he talks in the song is hern and actually yes we kiss beyond the shore and we only 11 years old lol
I'm really sad the third game in the series won't take place in Rapture. I still think they should make another game there, perhaps taking place during its construction or during the civil war. Theres so much they could still explore.
@pumpkinwolf II always felt the story was finished with Bioshock 1, BS2 was great but by no means a true sequel (more an advanced update lacking the same ambitious and creative ideas as the first one).
Bioshock Infinite is going to be the natural successor to Bioshock and anyone at all a fan of the original Bioshock should miss BS2 out completely and truly anticipate this 'Infinite', its going to be a REAL follow up from the greats at Irrational.
Well, being in Rapture wont matter anymore guys....they're making BioShock Infinite. So far from the trailer you are nowhere near water. The city is in the sky! Also, this takes place 30-40 years before the BioShock franchise. Don't believe me? Look it up. There are many questions like : "How did they get the technology to make a city float in 1912?" But the first BioShock made more sense to me.
Bioshock was way better than Bioshock 2, Bioshock had better story and Philosophy and Bioshock 2 is just was a game about a big daddy enduring a man hunt by some crazy woman with a weak cult, and they didn't even bother exploring that cult and why elenor was the target child, but Bioshock 1 makes me feel :D
@3102485 I think the major problem with Bioshock 2 was that the story was all thrown at you from the begining, rather than slowly learning it as you progressed. Plus there wasn't much backstory and what little there was kinda related back to Bioshock 1 (like how the city fell rather than how the cult got started). It probably would've been better if there was no begining cutscene and you just woke up in the puddle of water. Then they could peace that same cutscene together as you went along.
@TheGostofSparta Did you see the "hunting the big sister" trailer before the game came out? They've changed a lot of things since then while they were making the actual game (including story elements) but a lot of people thought it would have been better if they didn't change it. Not that I didn't like the game, I just kinda expected more out of it.
@3102485 I personally liked the second one better. Maybe it's because I played it first, but I also thought the gameplay itself was superior (I couldn't STAND the first game's hacking system...), The fact that you could have a weapon and a plasmid out at the same time was a great jump from the first one, the drill was just badass, and even though the storyline in the second one was nothing compared to the first one, Sophia was, in my opinion, one of the greatest villains in gaming history.
@KrimzonFlygon That's actually what I told my friend. It's not that one's better, it's just the one you played first. The first time you experience Rapture willbe your favorite game, the second one will just feel like more of the same. Even if you play them backwards.
@TheGostofSparta I did play bioshock 1 first and I like it more than the 2nd one, but that might be because you play a big daddy, to me that seems to powerful and took away the creepy feeling. Know what I mean?
@3102485 Until Bioshock Infinite comes out. I didn't have very high hopes for it when I saw the first teaser for it, but then a gameplay trailer came out.
@3102485 half of the game was about how eleanor came to be your little sister. and the cult information is seen alot through the audio diaries. and, even if the cult information was a little weak, its because they are the direct descendents of those in the first bioshock. they've just found a new leader
i couldnt agree more, i was rather let down by bioshock two, i feel some aspects of gameplay where better but it got repetitive very quickly. I think Bioshock 1 had alot better atmosphere and story with brilliant chracters but some people where put off by the gameplay as it wasn't a good stand alone shooter. overall i think it was a great game, one of my favourites, i just wish they could make a film so everyone could enjoy the story behind Rapture
@3102485 Well honestly they did that because 99.9% of the people who played Bioshock 2 played Bioshock 1, And Bioshock 1 had those element's already, So they decided they would make a new story entirely, As for why elenor was the target child, it was because the hoe wanted to protect her, That's all.
rapture must have been truly breathtaking before the war. i mean just imagine the splendor and wealth that existed there! i would love if they made an RPG kind of game with having a character be one of the citizens of rapture and live in it before the shit hit the fan.
@batmansfan4400 I think we all wanted that in Bioshock 2. Unfortunately, no such luck. My hope is that they make a 3rd one where you're a splicer and can team up either with AI or even friends in the campaign. The first 2 felt lonely, lol.
@TheGostofSparta unfortunatly the new one, as great as it looks, wont take place in rapture and wont have anything to do with rapture so that kinda makes me feel shitty ya kno? Rapture has so much more to offer and it seems like there giving up on it for now. also the city name for the new game isnt very original...Columbia? cmon
@TheGostofSparta I think that was the whole point, you were supposed to feel like it was you against the world. If ur a splicer then the game isn't what it is now, and is just a 3rd person shooter
@TheGostofSparta well youre werent really supposed to be all friendly. First, you were a brain washed average joe in a sunken dystopia. Then you were a big daddy who only knew "attachement" to a single invdividual in eleanor. That idea would be cool, but it shouldnt present a reason to frown on the first two
i'm never selling this game

I'm really sad the third game in the series won't take place in Rapture. I still think they should make another game there, perhaps taking place during its construction or during the civil war. Theres so much they could still explore.
pumpkinwolf 1 year ago

Look it up. There are many questions like : "How did they get the technology to make a city float in 1912?" But the first BioShock made more sense to me.

bioshock 1 and 2 were equally good. although i liked the story-line better to the first one, and the game play better on the second.

3102485 1 year ago 39

Rizzle6598 1 year ago
@3102485 I personally liked the second one better. Maybe it's because I played it first, but I also thought the gameplay itself was superior (I couldn't STAND the first game's hacking system...), The fact that you could have a weapon and a plasmid out at the same time was a great jump from the first one, the drill was just badass, and even though the storyline in the second one was nothing compared to the first one, Sophia was, in my opinion, one of the greatest villains in gaming history.
KrimzonFlygon 1 year ago
@KrimzonFlygon That's actually what I told my friend. It's not that one's better, it's just the one you played first. The first time you experience Rapture willbe your favorite game, the second one will just feel like more of the same. Even if you play them backwards.
TheGostofSparta 1 year ago 14
@TheGostofSparta I did play bioshock 1 first and I like it more than the 2nd one, but that might be because you play a big daddy, to me that seems to powerful and took away the creepy feeling. Know what I mean?
guy8900 1 year ago
@guy8900 but bioshock isnt supposed to be a horror game
biosector07 11 months ago
@KrimzonFlygon i understand that but, either way its always bioshock 1!

@3102485 Until Bioshock Infinite comes out. I didn't have very high hopes for it when I saw the first teaser for it, but then a gameplay trailer came out.
DAMN.
KrimzonFlygon 1 year ago
@3102485 you sure you played bioshock 2? it did go into detail about both of the points you claimed they didnt
RvrStyxRasputin 1 year ago
@RvrStyxRasputin not in good detail, bioshock 1 was scarier also
3102485 1 year ago

025973 1 year ago
@3102485 i once read that bioshock 2 was 10 years after and idk it just has a weird story and makes me feel :D too like bioshock 2 ._.
Ealija 1 year ago
@3102485 Well honestly they did that because 99.9% of the people who played Bioshock 2 played Bioshock 1, And Bioshock 1 had those element's already, So they decided they would make a new story entirely, As for why elenor was the target child, it was because the hoe wanted to protect her, That's all.
yungpadiwan 1 year ago
@3102485 I admire both games but bioshock was the best one. you explore very well thought out areas and the best one was fort frolic

rapture must have been truly breathtaking before the war. i mean just imagine the splendor and wealth that existed there! i would love if they made an RPG kind of game with having a character be one of the citizens of rapture and live in it before the shit hit the fan.
batmansfan4400 1 year ago 23
@batmansfan4400 I think we all wanted that in Bioshock 2. Unfortunately, no such luck. My hope is that they make a 3rd one where you're a splicer and can team up either with AI or even friends in the campaign. The first 2 felt lonely, lol.
TheGostofSparta 1 year ago 3
@TheGostofSparta unfortunatly the new one, as great as it looks, wont take place in rapture and wont have anything to do with rapture so that kinda makes me feel shitty ya kno? Rapture has so much more to offer and it seems like there giving up on it for now. also the city name for the new game isnt very original...Columbia? cmon
Joethegreat15 1 year ago
@TheGostofSparta I think that was the whole point, you were supposed to feel like it was you against the world. If ur a splicer then the game isn't what it is now, and is just a 3rd person shooter
cameronpiasta 1 year ago
@TheGostofSparta well youre werent really supposed to be all friendly. First, you were a brain washed average joe in a sunken dystopia. Then you were a big daddy who only knew "attachement" to a single invdividual in eleanor. That idea would be cool, but it shouldnt present a reason to frown on the first two
