Looks good, but if I want to search, it needs to be fast. I don't want to wait a day and look at some animations. If MS intergrates the interface in the browser, so it'll be fast, it would be perfect
@denishdens The rendering speed of most browsers is at a point where it doesn't matter who is faster. Milliseconds here and there won't matter. Plus, IE9 is shaping up really well. Any browser released in the next few months will be great: Firefox 4, IE9, and Chrome what ever version since they come out with a new one like every month.
They can make it as pretty as they want but it doesn't help with the typically crappy results that are returned. I so rarely find what I'm looking for when I search on Bing, so I go to Google and generally find it on the first page of the search. I stuck with Bing for over a month and was so frustrated with the lack of correct results that I finally gave up. Give me a plain background with helpful links any day.
IE9 team this, IE9 that, IE9 team solved the world... That's all html5 stuff. The same stuff that current versions of Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera already support.
Despite all this usual Microsoft 'marketese', there are some interesting design/interaction ideas.
I like the Bing photos and now ESPECIALLY this. The critics are whining about it being a distraction. From what? Your frantic day in which milliseconds matter so much that you have time for a 1 minute comment post on Youtube? I like Bing because it gives my frantic day a breath of fresh air.. a reminder that peaceful places in the world exist and it's not ALL about living a more productive digital life.
I think most MSFT fanboys missed one of the most important technology NOT mentioned here: Silverlight! He even said: NO PLUGINS! Wow, as an open-standards fanboiiiiii, boy, am I happy today :-)
Ah, who cares if Microsoft behaves as if HTML5/SVG/Canvas was created last week by Microsoft, as long is Silverlight is nearing it's end, I AM HAPPY. As long as Microsoft (or, more correctly, SOME departments as Microsoft) is advocating OPEN tools and technologies, i am a happy puppy. I WISH THEM LUCK
I've been using bing for about a year now, and 99% of the time get the results I want. And the times that i dont get what i want, i can't get it on google either. At least with my experiance, the search results with bing on almost as good as google, but down with a much more elgant fashion which i love
Wicked fast? HTML5?... not position: fixed? This guy needs a new shirt and more help when it comes to writing a keynote. Someone get this guy a new buzzword book. I love the unfold witchery though.
@TkMToM1993 i dont care how good it LOOKS, if it cant produce good results. the other day i searched a movie character, and bing gave me a page of images of people dressed in the character's halloween costumes. No. just no.

What does he mean by pure web technology and no plugin?
When I tried it on FF and chrome, bing immediately asks for silverlight plugin.
