Sorry lionsgateblows, I'm English and trying to follow the presidential debate. I understand that McCain has been linked with S&ls disaster. Are you, as a US citizen, saying that the Red in tooth & claw capitalism that has served the US so well in the past, is now worthy of hatred? It strikes me that if that's so, a whole re-think of American values could be about to happen? Not in a way that involves the US hating itself, but just being a bit more outward looking.

there shoulda been a rethink after the s&l crisis...and there was, and we were assured that it wouldnt happen again...but then clinton got a bj and started doing the bidding of republicans, including signing bills that lessened oversight...then bush came into office, and all bets were off...then 9/11 happened and everyone took their eyes off the ball, which allowed wallstreet to go crazy...we are not gonna recover from this recent crash...we cant, we dont have a manufacturing base anymore

let me add this...lassez faire captialism is evil personified...everyone knows this...and we became a strength and the greatest lender nation by having managed capitalism...we are now the worlds greatest debtor nation, and have basically a service economy...kudos to the repugs...in only 30 years they destroyed the mighty us empire....osama is laffing in a cave somewhere.
